    Lyrics:
I want to trip inside your head
    Spend the day there
To hear the things you haven't said
And see what you might see
I want to hear you when you call
Do you feel anything at all?
I want to see your thoughts take shape
    And walk right out
    Freedom has a scent
Like the top of a new born baby's head
The songs are in your eyes
I see them when you smile
I've had enough I'm not giving up
    On a miracle drug
Of science and the human heart
    There is no limit
There is no failure here sweetheart
    Just when you quit
I am you and you are mine
    Love makes nonsense of space
    And time, will disappear
Love and logic keep us clear
Reason is on our side, love
The songs are in your eyes
I see them when you smile
I've had enough of romantic love
I'd give it up, yeah, I'd give it up
For a miracle, a miracle drug, a miracle drug
God I need your help tonight
    Beneath the noise
    Below the din
    I hear a voice
    It's whispering
    In science and in medicine
    €œI was a stranger
    You took me in
The songs are in your eyes
I see them when you smile
I've had enough of romantic love
I'd give it up, yeah, I'd give it up
    For a miracle, miracle drug
    Miracle, miracle drug

The performance of "Miracle Drug" during the Vertigo tour remains an all-time U2 highlight for me. Something about the fact that The Edge sang those lines, especially right after a searing solo, moved me to tears. It was like the secret genius of U2 finally had a voice and something to say, and Bono suddenly became irrelevant for a brief moment.

It's this song that revealed to me, for the first time that there's an unrecognised instrument to this band. Once you hear Edge sing like that, on his own, you can't unhear it, and you realise that all over every single U2 song, is that voice, supporting Bono, reinforcing melodies and filling the sound. The way Edge sings and the notes he chooses are unlike any other singer in pop

I personally loved the song as my parrot died at this time and this song made sense for him and I. It made all the sense in the world. There was no miracle drug but it was just time. It hurts me every time I hear it but yet reminds me that life is short and to use it while we still can.

Speaking as someone who also has Cerebral Palsy and is a poet (similar to Nolan), this rocks. My nephew Kyle Dean Smith died on August 1, 2010 of leukemia, 11 years old. Even though he knew he was going to die, he submitted to every experimental treatment the doctors suggested, because he said "Maybe it will help someone else in the future". August 1st is "Remember Kyle" Day: I will share this video as part of it. Thank you, U2, for everything!

This cd played in my car and got me through her sepsis, brain bleeds and bouts of not breathing. 'Til this day, I cannot listen to it without crying and it so good to hear the story that is behind it.

      @GuadalupePicasso 7 лет назад

ChiriDarkrose tickets start at $35, and the general admission floor is only $70 (both prices are before "service fees")! Which city would be easiest for you to attend?
I'm going to both the second night in Chicago, as well as Pittsburgh; maybe one of the East Rutherford ones, as well as Cleveland, depending on how the market drives the secondary market prices)

    • @ChiriDarkrose
      @ChiriDarkrose 7 лет назад

Joseph Muir Seattle is the easiest, the concert date is May 17th I believe, but the cheapest tickets I can find are around $170. And most all money is going into my wedding right now. It's sad that I won't get to see them, but I have hope for another opportunity in the future. However unlikely that may be.

    • @GuadalupePicasso
      @GuadalupePicasso 7 лет назад

ChiriDarkrose ahhh, yeah, Seattle isn't cheap, especially as it's officially soldout on Ticketmaster already (thus, the secondary market can charge about whatever they want). The only cities that seem to be cheap or more reasonably priced are those that aren't yet soldout: the second night in Pasadena, Houston, Tampa, the second night in Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Louisville.
There's a Facebook group that you should join, called U2 Fans Tour Help Real Fans To Get Tickets that you should join. The main rule in the group is that tickets can't be sold above face value! On their last tour, I got extremely via that group, as a girl in Brazil who, at the last minute, was unable to make the trek up to North America, gave me tickets to their final show at Madison Square Garden (July 2015) on that tour!

Beatles are not even close. Their demise was petty and tragic, their egos killed them. U2 feeds off of their friendship and loyalty first, then the music comes from what's left. U2 are the kings.

The Edge is such a beautiful human being... my God... and although he'll say most of his guitar playing is more about the distortion than actual "playing of chords, etc." he sure does know how to "distort." I love him.

I'm glad I stumbled across this video. It never made any sense to me until tonight and I have listened to it for years. Always thought it might have had something to do with AIDS.

And see what you might see

This was one of their "promo tours" where they play new songs for smaller audiences ... watching this video confirms to me that "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" album is far and away their best of the 2000's ... musically it's almost "Joshua Tree II", and Bono's voice is very strong on every song.

I love the sentence "Freedom has a scent like the top of a new born baby's head"... This is completely true... The scent of the top of a new born baby's head is always magic... I've felt it with my three children, and I don't know why, but it is like Bono were talking about something completely common but at the same time special... Freedom, love, those wonderful sensations has that scent... Beautiful metaphor.

It seems to be true en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christopher_Nolan_(author)
That boy - Christopher Nolan did study at Mount Temple Comprehensive School where Larry Mullen posted his famous note on the billboard asking for band-mates.
