If it isn't offered with a small cab and 6' bed option I'm not interested.

Someone commented to me on another thread that there will be a formal announcement from Toyota about the Stout in November 2024. I’ll believe it when I see and hear it

If you are using a pick up truck as a pick up truck; then it has to be "body on frame" and not uni-body.
The engine should be a diesel for torque and reliability/maintenance costs and not be hybrid.

Toyota may as well sell the proven Toyota Hilux in the USA.
That is a proper truck with body on frame with a 2.4/2.8 diesel available.

Wow ! Virtually everything you described is WRONG for what the Stout needs to be. From the Engine sizes to towing, your talking about making a Mid Sized truck with more Power, that will never achieve any decent fiel economy.
Toyota has already gone totally wrong with the Tacoma and the new SUVs using the Iforce Max engines that get horrible fuel economy! 1 mpg better than non Hybrid? Fail !
I drive a SUV now that has a 1.6L turbo Hybrid engine that beats the numbers you have by leaps and bounds, from being Faster to getting 37 MPG Daily!
Putting a 2.5 L engine in the small truck is far to big. It will get horrible mileage. It does not need to tow 5000 lbs, its to small to be stable or stop that load. 3000 lbs would be more than enough for this Small truck.
But im sure Toyota will screw the engineering up on this too, and price it in the 40k range for anything anyone would actually want to drive.
    The trend continues...

Yet they sell every one they make and try to optimize profits with their product mix.
What do new car buyers do when the manufactures don’t build a vehicle exactly the way a particular new car buyer wants?
Surely complaining on a blog won’t make a difference.
Maybe writing or calling the manufacturer direct would make that potential buyer feel better. That the manufacturer heard him out. That maybe the manufacturer would actually make changes because of that potential buyer’s advice. It could happen.
If persuasion doesn’t work, there’s always coersion. Write to or get an appointment to talk to your congressman or senator about it. Get them to sponsor legislation to compel manufacturers to do it his way - that potential buyer’s way. For the manufacters’ own good and for the good of the American People. God bless America.
