Thanks for this video. I bought my Prakticar 5.6/500 MC Pentacon when I lived in Braunschweig. This was right after the Berlin Wall came down. The manufacturer of this lens, Meyer Optic Görlitz (Feinoptische Werke Görlitz), tried to build a viable business, and, as we all know, failed to compete in the free market economy. My lens is still labeled ‘Prakticar 5.6/500 MC Pentacon’, not Meyer-Optik, distance scale is green not oranges as in your sample.
Yes, there are some versions that are a little rarer. The competition between manufacturers was enormous back then. Some companies survived and other companies later came back onto the market or specialized.

Cooler Betitrag über das Pentacon 500. Ich habe 2 davon. Beide renoviert und wollte mal schauen, welche Fotos Du damit gemacht hadt.

Ich musste auch die 500er komplett reinigen usw. Aber ich denke nicht dass ich sie behalten werde. Sind einfach zu schwere Trümmer
