I am a 39 year old, 320 lb guy who just started playing ice hockey last December (2021). While I've always been an avid hockey fan, due to the expense of the sport, I've never had the opportunity to actually lace them up and get out there until now. Also obviously I need to get in better shape. Learning to skate and play over the past 4 months has KICKED MY BUTT (literally because my glutes as well as my ankles, quads, knees, etc are BLASTED after every skate). Anyway I just want to say thanks so much for producing this content. I don't expect to be a 40 year old McDavid or Ovechkin but I do want to excel at learning the game and having fun. You can't have fun playing hockey if you're gassed after every shift and you can't have fun if other competitors are skating circles around you on the ice. Keep 'em coming eh?
U still play now , how much have you progressed ?
Did this last night, great workout, a lot harder than it looks. Isolating muscle groups really tested stability.
Awesome exercises!! Thank you
Great ideas here coach!
Im gonna start using this i just made 18u AA and Wanna get a little faster before the season starts. Thank you coaches
Always great to see the OG’s make another incredible video
Been here since the beginning and we aren't going anywhere! 🙌💪
Thanks
more please !
Thanks a lot guys! I’m 14 and playing AA and I’m hoping to play a year or two of AAA before high school, and these exercises have been helping a huge amount!
No problem thanks for watching and good luck making the move up!
Same man any tips on how to get faster my skating is a huge weakness
Do you have any specific workouts that will help strengthen backwards skating? Thank you.
Всем привет.
Упражнение лёжа на полу понравилось!
whats a few of the best off ice exercise for building endurance/lung capacity for a 1 hour long hockey game , also i have a bad knee so running is out for me.
I subscribed
Great stuff.
However, I find that these exercises don't hit my key weakness of varus hip movement. And I think that's what is keeping me from faster punch turns, hockey stops, and better outside edge work. My left leg is weaker than my right. When I have my right leg forward, and set my left leg down perpendicular to do any of those mentioned moves, I barely have the strength and stability to keep it down. Any exercise recommendations specific to stregnthen varus hip movement for outside edgework?
where can i find a phase 1 hockey training schedule/guide?
Our programs are available at www.hockeytraining.com/programs
How often do you recommend doing these exercises? Once a week? 3 times a week?
I program them in on resistance training days throughout the off-season -- So they will be targeted 3-5x per week depending on the training phase 👍
should I do these after every osd workout? or when is it best to perform these exercises?
If you're on OSD '21, the Elusive Edgework Formula is already automatically built into your programming so you don't need to worry about a thing 💪 -- In terms of "when" to perform it, you can just follow your workout sheets. To learn more, you can also check out the science behind it here: www.hockeytraining.com/mastering-edge-work/
How do we work with you? I am interested for my u12. I looked a few times and can’t find how to become a client…thank you!
Hey Nick, you can learn all about our programs on this page: hockeytraining.com/programs/

AM is not a Great skater? And sids debateble…
I think you're confusing top speed and edge work. Sid is the edge work OG and AM34 is so smooth.
@@hockeytraining yeah sids great on the edges but still wouldn’t consider him one of the top skaters, but like I said probably debatable. Don’t think I can agree on AM though 😅 so many better skaters than him
Gimmick. Do squats and shit.
Thanks for this great vid guys! My biggest weakness is my skating. Can’t wait to start this program!👍😁🏒
You got this!
