  • I bought a 1969 Chevy Van off Facebook Marketplace for $800. It's been off the road for 35 years. In this video I go over the electrical system and diagnose what it needs to get the lights working. I install a new aluminum radiator. I do some POR15 rust treatment, install a gauge set. I strip and prime the front end. And so much more!

I like those led head lights, you can see where you’re going at night, especially those dark country roads.

I had an 81’ chev short box no windows shagon wagon complete with bed, wood paneled walls, parquet flooring and a rocking stereo. Aww the good old days. 😢

Those headlights look good. But like you said if someone doesn't like them they can send you some Holley retrobrights.

The original west coast style mirrors had a bracket with three bolts in the door at the bottom and the top bracket had 2. A 10 in. mirror isn't for everyone but i kinda wish they all had um.

When I was a kid I had to replace my thermostat. Broke 2 thermostat housings putting just a touch of snug tightening the bolts. Pissed me off. That was back in the late 80’s and I thought that was wasted money. Don’t understand why they couldn’t make them out of durable steel.

Damn I miss wind wings and dimmer switch on the floor, I'm ready digging the van, when I was a kid, my dad had one of the old Ford Econolines, pretty much the same body style, I remember it being really gutless, but it was cool on the inside, also had to get use to sitting directly over the front wheels, I think all vans are going to become popular, for people to live in, hell our rent went up from 550 to 700 a month, I guess I better sell all my vehicles and buy a van to live in.

Can ya flip the leaf springs and drop the van down ? I think it would look better if it was dropped about 3 or 4 inches all the way around . I’d also put some led lights point down at your feet from under the dash maybe on a switch where they would come on when you open the door or need to see something at nite when your driving ... From experience those old vehicles are pitch black at nite driving them .. Should be relatively inexpensive..

un hook all the wires take the fuses out and let the whole fuse block soak in white vinegar for seven days and the rust will be gone .try it and just trust me and you'll be surprised. again put it in a bucket with cover soak it for seven days and safe a 100 bucks
