  • To correctly strip speaker wire, you need the proper tool. For this, we’ll use our compact wire stripper from our own production facility. This tool offers multiple cut nests to handle a wide range of wire sizes. It also has a tapered plier nose that can be used to grip, twist, bend, or pull. Lastly, this tool offers a sharp cutting blade ideal for cutting solid and stranded wires as large as 10 gauge. The first step is to measure our speaker wire to the correct length making sure to add an extra inch or so. With our measurement made, we’ll use our compact wire stripper to cleanly slice through the speaker wire. Now we need to separate the conductors. Once we know the correct amount of insulation to strip, we’ll use our tool to cut into the insulation. After closing the tool, we’ll pull it away from the main section to reveal the internal conductor. All that is left is to repeat the process on the remaining wire. With the proper tool you can safely cut and strip speaker wire while reducing or eliminating the risk of damage to the internal conductor. You find the speaker wire, and the tool you’ve seen here at PacerGroup.net.

Compact wire stripper (20-8 AWG) VT45-124 -- writing this here so I can look it up
I need to strip the end of speaker wire that has a tiny diameter. The speaker wire in this video isn't that tough to cut.

Any wire smaller than 10 awg is a breeze to cut with the VT45-124.
