Oh, hell yes! New Qotsa album came out a few weeks ago, Oppenheimer is finally out, a new OKGO album is on the way, and the second Ernest and Celestine film is almost due for release. What's next, a new season of Barry and an announcement from HBO that they're going to pick up on Carnivale again?
This concept is not as inspired or explored as previous ones at all. Seems like they spent a day recording experiments when what would have been way more eye-catching was the NEXT day, when they figured out what did and didn't work. What about different materials? different consistencies of paint in the same bottle, what about different substrates other than paper, what about using machines to move the paint bottles in controlled ways? After all the amazing concept videos you guys have done, this one feels way lazy in comparison.
My first OK Go show was in 2003, and I've stuck around ever since. Almost gave up on you after so many years of inactivity, and questioned whether you were even passionate about making music anymore, but all my concerns have disappeared with the arrival of this new song. I'm already obsessed with it and can't wait for the new album.
