I prefer the DB fight scenes. They have a old Hong Kong action vibe to them like a Jackie Chan film. Really well choreographed, funny hand to hand combat. It's more appealing to me than just 2 dudes shooting lasers. But DBZ brings it's own cool stuff make up for it
Bruh!! I've been screaming this for years. That moment when Goku & Piccolo power up, clash their energies... And then the fists start flying at high speed Right at the moment that awesome Dragon Ball soundtrack kicks. The soundtrack used after Krillin dies and Goku rushes off after Tambourine and Roshi's like: "THAT'S AN ORDERRRRR!!!" The moment Goku lets fly the Super Kamehameha, lights up the sky and stadium, Bulma screaming for dear life, Oolong falling over, the shock and screams of the audience, the dope soundtrack... Dragon Ball is So under-appreciated.
Was I the only one wondering why Kami didn't just let Goku take on the newly hatched Piccolo Jr.? I mean I don't think he'd be able to beat a Goku freshly off the heels of defeating King Piccolo. Ah well, plot and all that jazz...
Yeah the Piccolo arcs were very popular due to the awesome fight scenes. Its why the Z and the later half of the manga focused so much more on the fighting
Oh wow, I gotta see you do a Full Power Super Saiyan Goku vs. Perfect Cell breakdown! The anime version of that fight was so amazing! I don't even care that we later find out that Cell was HEAVILY suppressed during that brawl. If anything, it shows us a lot more about Cell's personality post absorbing the Androids because he could've easily exerted more power to CRUSH Goku. However, he was more interested in enjoying the fight even wanting Goku to eat a Senzu so that they could continue. Guess we could assume that Goku's cells were truly active once Cell became Perfect. IMO the Goku vs. Cell fight was WAY better than SS2 Gohan vs. Cell because that wasn't even a fight; that was sadistic torture 🤣
I got to the end of the video and was like, "what?! Wait, what happens next!?" Great video! Wasn't expecting to watch the whole thing but got reeled in.
**ahem** "AlL oF ThEm?!" Jokes aside, this is also the culmination of the original DragonBall. Jackie Chun arrived at the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai to push Goku's training and show him that there is always a bigger fish and someone stronger. This has actually been Goku's drive to win the tournament and the fight with Piccolo is set within these bounds. Rather than world-busting or blowing up everyone, Goku is set on winning the tournament to prove that he is the strongest in the world. When he wins, he really is the strongest in the world, and the "original" story of DragonBall ends. Dragon Balls are a known quantity and Goku really is the strongest. To continue, new challengers has to come from somewhere else outside of earth. Sure, the stakes are raised, but the reason Z's fights don't quite measure up is because they basically become a combination of power levels and transformations. Ki attacks, flight, and even after-images, unique and special techniques in DragonBall that are serious commitments of energy and demonstrations of skill, are now just givens. The details of fights and strategies just fall behind raw power. Any new "techniques" usually aren't much more than replays of old ones, or ways to increase raw power (transformations, SSJ, Kaio-ken, fusions, etc.). There are exceptions, but they are rare. The fate of the earth, galaxy, or universe don't feel that much greater as Piccolo already kind of did it, but presentation and characterization are lost in the fights.
This arc also reminds me of the problems DBZ and DBS have, where was Piccolo's Giant Form when they NEEDED it?! Heck, why hasn't Goku learned to master his Great Ape like Vegeta did? All I know is that I love that THIS arc is being added to DBZ Kakarot, maybe we can get a prequel that's more like classic Dragon Ball.
1 - piccolo never needed his giant form in Z and DBS as it literally would not have help im in the slightest 2 - cuz atp Goku had long since dropped the tail entirely
I feel like fights can be good if they have Atleast 2 of the things you mentioned. A well presented fight that conveys the character of the fighters, will be enjoyable. A well presented fight with stakes that grip the reader is another way. Stakes, presentation and character is almost a bonus.
He uses a lot of them in the anime, but by that point a lot of them became obsolete, or he saw how they all failed when he fought goku and chose not to use them.
My subscription ended before I could finish the original Dragon Ball and I pirated Dragon Ball Z but my freind finished Dragon Ball so I know what happened

Agreed DB fights are Hong Kong based fighting styles, which I absolutely love, but DBZ fights are more brutal and unforgiving.
*Jackie Chun film
Goku v. Piccolo and Goku v. Frieza are the two best in all of the Dragon Ball series.
Bruh!!

Dragon Ball is So under-appreciated.
Best fight of Dragon Ball manga, it has everything
Watching the Anime when Goku goes down and he is screaming in pain it’s honestly emotional for me. This is the peak dragon ball fight.
Was I the only one wondering why Kami didn't just let Goku take on the newly hatched Piccolo Jr.? I mean I don't think he'd be able to beat a Goku freshly off the heels of defeating King Piccolo.
Ah well, plot and all that jazz...
I mean if he just spat out an egg. Either Tien would just blow it up or Goku and team would raise it for good
Yeah he could just mafuba the little bastard and live forever
It's stated he's > Daimao from the getgo so it wouldn't be that easy
My favorite arcs are Piccolo Jr and Saiyan Arcs. I love the artstyle, the story, the characters. Everything.

Goku vs piccolo and Goku vs Vegeta are my favorite fights in all of dragon ball 🤩

DBS WILL NEVER..I REPEAT..NEVER BEAT THIS OG DB..LET ALONE DBZ.
Yeah I agree
I got to the end of the video and was like, "what?! Wait, what happens next!?"
Great video! Wasn't expecting to watch the whole thing but got reeled in.
One of the most iconic fight in Dragon Ball history... I remember watching this when i was a kid...

@@Gigglesisafish Sounds more like Author forgetfulness or Alternative Direction to me.
DBS Super Hero: oH i fORgoT I dId tHaT
Great video! Maybe you should do a Kid Goku vs Tien video? That fight is one of my favorite!
BEST FIGHT IN MANGA HISTORY!!!
GREATEST fight from OG Dragon Ball
Goku be piccolo jr is my favorite fight in all of dragon ball

doing an arc tier list and not putting the 23rd at the very top in it's own tier is criminal
Yeah , you were completely right about this being the template for a lot of dbz fights later on
Beta version
Bro everybody be copying krillins moves
Man ! What happened to all dem powers Piccolo had later on in the series , the writer just left them all the same as when the story first started
He uses a lot of them in the anime, but by that point a lot of them became obsolete, or he saw how they all failed when he fought goku and chose not to use them.
Best fight
Its not my favorite dragon ball universe fight
But its easily top 5
My subscription ended before I could finish the original Dragon Ball and I pirated Dragon Ball Z but my freind finished Dragon Ball so I know what happened
Goku vs jiren
Goku vs Piccolo Jr. Fans when they realized that them breathing is a reference to Goku vs Piccolo Jr. because Goku also breathe during that match.
Love seeing og Love (better than dbz don't @ me)
