This is so much more than a cycling channel. Please continue to show the stuff beyond the cycling. It's so wholesome and gives us a glimpse into such the lives of such wonderful people.
I appreciate that, i really want to continue to evolve as a storyteller. I have so much to share about things I hold close to my heart. The next video im working on has hints of that evolution. Excited to share it!
beautiful, wholesome, relaxing and inspiring….everything that is good about RUclips. Every time i see one of your videos , i just want to go out and ride. One of the best channels on RUclips, honestly.
Wow, thank you. I'm always hesitant to include the non bike stuff but everyone has given such positive remarks. When I started this channel it was more to just journal our life together through film in order to have memories to look back on and share the things that I hold close to my heart. I want to tell stories of all of life's special moments along with the cycling. I'm so happy that people like yourself are inspired or just feel good by watching. That means the world to me. I'm truly grateful to interact with such beautiful people regularly through this channel.
The Simple Joys of a Bike Ride !! Just by changing up a Ride a little bit.. can change the same bike loop.. Do an evening bike ride when the lighting is different.. Or an early morning ride.. The 5S’s - Sights, Sounds, Smells, Scenery, & Sunset or Sunrise.. Mother Nature at its Finest 🌞🌄😎
@@ThatMountainMoment Bruce Freeman Rail Trail - Lowell to West Concord MA.. then a few bike rides with lots Ocean Views & Ocean Breezes.. Essex, Gloucester, Beverly, Salem, & Marblehead, Massachusetts.. Sunday I hope to bike Presidential Rail Trail 🚴♂️😎.. Live Every Day PS I just posted a Short Video on Kancamagus Challenge 2024 😁
My only rule for riding is just: Enjoy the Ride. Plain and simple, just enjoy the experience and the scenery. I even had several stem caps made with those three words and gave some to some riding buddies.
Thanks for sharing another amazing route with us. Your descriptions of the New England countryside are nothing short of lyrical. Tell Nikki (hope I spelled that correctly) that I love a creepy old cemetery too -- especially in the autumn.
Thank you! The landscape of new england itself feels poetic. Born and raised here and still find awe in our little corner of the country everyday. Nikki is correct spelling btw and her favorite holiday is Halloween because of the cemetery vibes in Autumn😉
I'm sure that it's difficult to keep generating ideas for new content, so I thought I would offer a timely suggestion. How about doing a route or tour that would take in some of Nikki's favorite old cemeteries? That would be perfect for Halloween, which will be upon us before you know it.
My takeaway of the golden rule is emerse yourself in the moment. Enjoy what is around you. So many of the other people's bike videos place importance on distance rode. For me and my wife, and the 2 of you , it's what you see while riding. To borrow from my Ontario friends... RIGHT ON! Petal for peace. All the best from us in Western New York.
It's all about those "Gravel Feels!" I honestly forget that I'm actually riding most of the time, like the movement sort of just blends into the experience and the scenery is the main event. Petal For Peace! Petal For Presence!
I love your takeaway of the golden rule. That golden hour time period, the way the light peaks through the forest and the long casted shadows just makes for a magical experience.
And I must add that a real life video keeps it "real" . Over editing and a totally polished video isn't going to tell the whole story. Like doing 30 mph and jarring thru those rough road spots, many would have edited that out. Keep it real. It connects with people.
@davidweeks3758 thank you, I really enjoy a mix of raw camera moments and no music with nice cinematography of the things that I stop and admire. I try to use the camera as a reflection of what my eyes and mind are goimg through. If it's a jarring road the footage needs to reflect my eyeballs rattling out of my skull ha ha. If I pause to take in a view or appreciate some flowers, my mind is very still and so the camera should be. I was just having this conversation with my mom moments before reading this. She mentioned the camera stabilizatiin was shaky at times and it felt like her eyes had to try harder to focus (she wasn't critiquing but just said she noticed it)which is exactly the feeling I wanted from those instances so I'm really glad you enjoy that real aspect. Gopros naturally loose a bit of stabilization in low light conditions but it can be used advantageously. Man that really motivates me, I feel like I am able trust our viewers to understand the context of a video or specific scene.
@@ThatMountainMoment being on the planet for many years, I have found that there are only some folks that are "in tune". But the ones that are not won't stick around for long. Usually get washed away by the meaningless aspects of society. Keep doing what your doing and "in tune" folks will follow. Enjoy the day, I'm off to cut down dead ash trees for the winter firewood supply. Fun? Kinda!
Ha ha! Thanks for tuning in again. The Free S**t House is legendary, they put stuff out weekly and we always seem to strike gold ha ha! I'm glad you like the family vibes. I'm very grateful to have them.
Ha, ha. I started riding leaving my phone at home and it is great. I also don't look at the head unit or just use a simple Cateye to display the time of day. If I have to go on a route where I could get into trouble, I take the phone but keep it off until I need it. I now charge my phone once a week. When you are focused on the road, it is not only safer in preventing collisions with distracted people, but more enjoyable because you are in the moment.
Couldn't agree more! It's very freeing and fun to follow our curiosity to see where it takes us. The head unit is fine if we're in a new area but like you, prefer to leave it at home as much as possible. Ha ha I'm in the same boat as you with the phone, all my friends tease me about how often my phone is off. Despite having a RUclips channel, we're rarely on our phones and social media. I just don't enjoy it but do like being creative so RUclips serves that purpose for me. I feel like a planned route leaves me blindly following the head unit and closes off the options to explore freely.
Beautiful Video. Pretty much our every day gravel around Stowe. Tomorrow we ride East Montpelier thru Adamant, Maple Corners, Calais to Mirror Lake with our group.
It's amazing how much scenic gravel Vermont has. There's not a single part of the state that I haven't been utterly impressed with. Western mass border towns are highly underrated too. I love flowing in and out of both states on one ride. Never ridden in Adamant but the others you mentioned we've enjoyed many times. That ride sounds awesome! Thanks again!
Recently did a ride from Greenfield, MA, up to Guilford, VT, past the B&B from one of your earlier videos. The pavement section didn’t bother me at all.
Awesome! So glad you started riding! This route was partly in Vermont and then into west central Massachusetts near the town of Colrain, MA. Absolutely beautiful part if new england. Everywhere you pedal feels like a storybook.
The downhills are fun, but the scenery goes by too quickly to fully enjoy! It's quite the dilemma! I'm ready for nice evenings with low humidity here, because the heat is really making riding nearly impossible.
Quite the dilemma indeed! But not a bad problem to have ha ha. The crisp fall evenings are what we all look forward to I'm sure. I love summer rides because of the post ride swimming hole dips but when I can ride without losing half my body weight in sweat, it's also a good day😂

Great drone shots! And great everything, as usual!❤
Thank you still a lot to learn with the drone but it's really fun to add in those shots.
Small town quaint America has big nature loving vibes, a golden hour ride on a gravel bike is a glorious way to immerse yourself in the moment…
There's no better way to see the countryside than by bike. It tunes you in to your surroundings in such a way that words fall short of describing.

Awesome stuff! Some lovely rides have you-Yoda
You watching, I appreciate😉
Another good one guys
Thanks Edward! Hope you got a chance to ride this week yourself.
Just wonderful. I have been on a few late day rides they can be magical
Yes! There's something about the golden hour lighting that gives a ride more texture.

just have fun guys, don't worry about speed or distance. Gravel is for fun. Find an adventure.
That's the only way we ride. Fun, scenery, and connection. Thank you. Glad to hear so many others feel the same way.
nicely done!

Yes, I’ve ridden 3 times this week including River Road which is gravel and in beautiful bottom land.
