This is the absolute worst display of Devil Kazuya gameplay I have ever seen. He has one of the most powerful Tekken characters at his disposal to fight supposedly the hardest boss in Tekken 7 and he is still getting his ass whooped.
Devil Kazuya is an overpowered character, I should know I main Kazuya and making Devil an accessible transformation since Tag 2 made Kazuya more deadly. Also it should be noted that in order to be Devil Kazuya you have to give up the rage art to transform. Here Phil has him from the start, meaning that he is starting out as a rage transformed character without having to waste his rage art. I am not saying Devil Kazuya would make the fight one sided, but Phil is basically gifted a powerful character to fight Akuma. Now you can make the argument that Phil has no idea how to use Kazuya at all and it clearly shows, but then that just begs the question "why didn't he practice?" I use to suck with Kazuya too and now he is one of my mains. All Phil does is blame the game like he always does and decides to cheese the fight with the air laser attack.

The fight was meant to be a secret superboss fight and Phil was complaining that Akuma dared to be a superboss fight, even calling Namco morons for making him like that when that is EXACTLY why they made Akuma that hard. If Phil is going to take pop shots and call the game devs stupid for losing to a superboss fight because he doesn't want to take the time to learn Kazuya, then I am allowed to criticize his methods.

I find it pretty remarkable that Phil, after playing Tekken since what he claims to be its inception, can't display even basic combos in this fight. Like Jesus Christ, he just jabs and spams laser. That is exactly how a complete noob plays; mash fast attacks in no particular order and try and cheese the fight.
This fight is really challenging, but you can use the ground laser for a really favorable trade with the 3 fireballs. Also you can duck the focus attack and punish it. Finally Akuma's mid into overhead string is launch punishable. The only true mix up situation the Akuma AI has is after you block a dive kick, in which case god help you.

That's what it says on the game tips that go across the screen before games. But it's actually double up and double down. I've been stuck many times side-stepping when it won't respond. Akuma can throw fireballs in rapid succession. He can win matches without even fighting. You've obviously never played an Akuma player that just flips away from you all game and spams fireballs and his low sweep the entire match.

this is pretty normal...not many ppl played d. kazuya, and even if you do, Akuma was being a bitch of a cpu opponent, reading your attacks and countering, it took most everyone i know this long to beat him. btw, learning move, or using story mode moves doesn't make a difference, Akuma uses armored attacks and teleports repeatedly...you win by a combination of luck from the cpu not being a total dick. not even using simple launchers into juggles will work.

I absolutely hate it when people abuse the words "cheap" and "broken." And how the hell do you cheat in Tekken? It's almost as though the concept of a Focus Attack is completely foreign to him. And am I the only one who finds his vocal inflection grating? It sounds like a horrible Christopher Walken impression.
I think Akuma says this before the match starts: "Warui, Gouki ni ki omoreni. MMMMMUUUUUUU!!!!" (Please correct my japanese if there are errors, as I am studying it trying my best to decipher.) Oh and DSP, keep up the uh... yeah, that thing you do. Yeah. That thing you do. Whatever it maybe. (I was praying that he'd go up against Akuma, so happy, I beat this and got Master of Iron Fist. Had to beat it twice. Beat it 3 times for fun.)

Question , I know this will sound dumb. But why is Akuma in tekken? Has he always been ? Only play street fighter , I haven't played tekken since I was a kid in the early 2000s on ps2 lol. I just remember the dude with the animal head

this is pretty normal...not many ppl played d. kazuya, and even if you do, Akuma was being a bitch of a cpu opponent, reading your attacks and countering, it took most everyone i know this long to beat him. btw, learning move, or using story mode moves doesn't make a difference, Akuma uses armored attacks and teleports repeatedly...you win by a combination of luck from the cpu not being a total dick. not even using simple launchers into juggles will work.
