No idea why this worked, but when I restarted the display was perfect and the 1920 x 1080 choice appeared in the resolution dropdown in "Display settings" so well done OP!
same when replacing the graphics card, the resolution will be less, but restart it (once or more times) and should be ok, or update the driver

guys i did this for me and it worked if u have a monitor connected this should work
step 1 go to settings display settings
step 2 scroll down till u see multiple displays and put only ur monitor and then bam u have 1920 1080 if u have any questions write it down below

what monitor drivers do u have if you have a nvidia and intel dont scary delete a nvidia drivers and then work intel hd grapics and then dowload from offical site of nvidia some time update didnt help if you dont know how to dowload nvidia drivers in youtube there mant tutorials

Update from me. Don't trust Windows own driver's updater, it said to me that latest drivers are already installed. I searched for drivers for my grafic card online, installed it manually and voilà, I finally have normal resolution again. But Tnx anyway because this video didn't fix my issue but at least it give idea what to do to get resolution back

I've gone through the same issue a few days ago guys..... for me it just got reinstalled automatically after 1-2 days just try to restart your pc as many times as possible (but not too many times) and this is how it worked me

Dude this guy want you to destroyed your computer. Never uninstall your driver that's gonna make a mistake. You can add 1920x1080 on your software. If you using AMD you can go to display and turn on virtual super resolution or freesync

@@kelto6567 listen bro....download cru and choose a custom resolution and it will give u many options and u can make one urself too....make the 1798X1080 resolution on custom and restart ur pc if it doesnt work once then try it twice and it should work......or just reply to me once u download cru....i had the same problem and i fized it so i understand ur pain

For people who doesn't know, 1366x768 is common in Laptops and whatever you do anything will not work because the graphics card is design only for that resolution

If you just upgraded to Windows 10 the problem might actually be fixed automatically in a day or so.
When Windows 10 first installs, it installs a generic video driver. That is what is installed on your machine right now, and that is why you are missing the 1920x1080 resolution. Note you are asking the wrong people (AOC support) for help. What you need is a video driver. This will usually be supplied by the manufacture of your computer, not the manufacture of the monitor you have.
From what happened on my system. At first it had the generic video driver installed, but shortly after I upgraded Windows checked what was available to download, and it found and installed the proper driver. You can try to speed up this process by selecting:
Start -> Settings -> Update & security -> Check for updates
If that doesn't work what you need is to get the proper driver for your machine. Usually manufactures of machines have these drivers for downloading under a support section on their website. You need to first try downloading and installing this driver.
Note I'm just another user trying to help.

if you get a black screen then you basically deleted your graphics card driver so all you need to do is figure out what driver you had and reinstall it, with out it your screen is likely to turn black.

But for my laptop, i've found the alternative (for external monitor). By plug in the vga after we turned on the laptop and when the screen are show something (windows logo, password screen, etc). For me It works as well.
