Ranger GM hey if you are replacing a screen it is likely the screen is not compatible as changing the screen will not change the resolution, although there are limited types of screen some laptops do require a higher power output so some screens simply won't work, shine an led torch behind the screen and see if you can see anything, if you can it may be the wrong screen or the connecting ribbon may be damaged. Hope this helps

right click > up button 2x > press enter > tab 4x > press space bar > up button 2-4x(if you set it too low), down button 2-4x(if you set it too high) > press enter

Ok, for windows 10 latest builds u should click this: 1x Right mouse button, 2x up arrow, enter, 3x (sometimes can be 4x, but unlikely) tab, enter, then 1x (or less than 8x) down arrow, and enter

So for my windows 11 the quickest way to do it blind is hit the windows key and then just type “display resolution “ , hit enter, then key up or down the resolution scale towards where you think your normal res is at and hit enter again and that should bring the screen back after a second or two. Then just click accept changes when you can see it again .

Thank you! The number of tabs/enters etc I need to do were slightly different but this method worked perfectly! For reference on my Windows 10 Pro machine I needed to: Right Click, Up x 2, Enter, Tab x 4, Space, Down x 15, Enter.

For windows 7: After logging in, press Ctrl + Alt + F8. This would restore graphics to default settings of the connected display.

Here let me help you first turn on your computer then press windows key control enter that will turn on narrator which will guide you through your way next press windows key then press down arrow until you hear settings once you hear settings press enter then then press tab 7 times then press up arrow till you hear the resolution you need hope this helps!

Thanks Cod3r, the new Windows 10 build is a bit different, but your premise is spot on. Plus I was trying to set mine back to 1920×1080. I had set my Nvidia GForce panel with GTX1070 resolution to 3840x2160. I didn't even have the Asus PC start up screen or the Windows log on. Right click mouse,up arrow 2 times, enter, tab 5 times, down arrow 6 times, enter, Display revert screen should appear, if not hit tab, that moves it over to save changes.

Update as of 6/18/2019
I'm on windows 10 latest version, and none of the youtube tutorials worked for me.
this is what I did. : If you have a TV that has HDMI connections, temporary use it as your monitor. then it will work. after that change the reso of your display to the lowest. save changes and change that back to your monitor. if that doesn't work then use the TV as monitor again then use the RECOVERY option at the control panel ( look for tutorials here in youtube how to do it ) then it will configure and will work back to your original monitor.

for anyone that is on windows 10 (idk if it works on windows 7 or 8) once you log in the first step you can do is press the start button and type in narrator then press enter. For people who dont know what it is: when you press tab to select a different option it reads it out for you so you know what option you are on, it also reads out what resolution you are about to pick in-case your monitor or pc doesnt support the res that you picked without seeing the screen. it helped me out a ton and also i used it to share my screen to my other device(or friends device) on discord (or the software of your choice like kast, team viewer) to fix the other issues i was facing that made my screen blank.
