@@AllTerrainActionEV thanks, i managed to restart it but the software upgrade didn't work. it loaded the update too quickly, it went to 100% in less than 10 secs. i am currently on the UK seal U latest software version. i followed the video and copied the folder in the root of the USB, I am using an extender like USB port to connect to the Type C on Port A as I have the Type A usb drive, would that be a problem? i am on version 13.1.33.2407240.1

@@peacemakermotion3949 not yet only had shark for 5 days, main objective was to run some basic off road test and get 2k down on the odometer - will try probably in 2 weeks time. They are different versions so this definitely won’t work using files supplied here. There will also be different conditions with how side loading may work been version 5. Will make a video once I have some clue

Once we have done the whole process successfully if you want to add apps later on do you have to fully downgrade etc again from scratch? Also have you tried Chrome browser or samsung Internet to see if they work?
Is the latest firmware has the karaoke and waze app already? I noticed that mine went missing after doing the downgrade and upgrade. The trick worked btw.

Otherwise it does not ask for authorization when adb tries to connect. - For some reason I cannot get the latest OTA firmware update. I'm pretty sure there is later than '13.1.33.2403010.1' that was applied sometime back in October. Car cannot detect it anymore when I 'check for updates'. Maybe my car was logged as it received the update, and it cannot get it second time (or maybe it was recalled)? May I ask what the latest version number that you have? Do you know where I can download it? Did Sandeep's car manage to get it over OTA? P.S. - I also could not figure out yet why gbox does not show the list of available applications (I can only clone installed ones). - It looks like nowadays applications packed into single 'apk' package are rare. Search for "How to install xapk, apks, or multiple-apks via adb?" for new packages (tricky but doable).

I bought the car about a month ago and suddenly the navigation has not worked for a couple of days. My wife is a main driver. Whenever she opened the google map on her phone before, it turned up on the car screen, but strange to say, nothing is shown on the screen, nor did the app icons such as navigation or android auto work. It happened while my wife was driving, and she has not been using a google map since then. Bluetooth is connected, so the music and calls work. Is there any way to fix this problem? Thanks, mate. It does but if you change it you will lose access to BYD phone app for remote unlock lock, and functions. Even with another data sim as it’s tied to the sim card somehow. We tired for bigger data plan, and we prefer the functions :)
Any reason why my navigation doesn't work? I got the car yesterday. It does work if I connect the wifi into my phone. I thought the sim would get that data needed for it to run without third party device.
It should work but keep in mind sometimes SIM ACTIVATION can take a few days after getting the vehicle. Does your BYD phone app work to talk to the car? If not SIM is not yet likley activated.
@AllTerrainActionEV It doesn't work yet. You're right it's likely not activated yet. They told me it would take around 2 weeks for me to use the mobile app.
@@petermakarow9161 yes! Any other app manager can probably pull APKs down to the Sealion. In some degree you may even be able to download APKs from the browser and install too without external device. I just found this to be the easier way for me seeing what I had access too.
Has anyone bought a Braumach space saver tyre for their BYD Sealion6? How do you find it? Where do you store it? Can you remove the puncture kit, etc. From the boot and place the spare tyre there?
The firmwares made available by this video appear to be for left-hand drive vehicle!!!! Downgrade and upgrade works as described, but now, when I say "hi BYD, open the driver window", it opens the left-side window. Conversely, when I say "open the passenger window", it opens the right-side window. This is reversed in Australia! Is there a way to set the driver side, or do I need to find a right-side firmware? I haven't tried it, but I'm afraid that downgrading again using the firmware in this video, and using OTA upgrade, it will still download a left-hand drive firmware coz the old firmware is for left-hand drive. I am afraid that ADAS and other safety features might have been affected by the change in the driver side.
@@AusSealion6 I just tested this in my car can confirm that my OTA update I got sometime between when I did this and now, must have fixed mine to correct side if it is infact causing it as when I give the command open driver window it opens the correct one.
@@AusSealion6 Any update to your OTA update method? I tried today to access the the filesystem on my Sealion6 to see if I could find upgrade files to the OTA I got but it doesnt seem to be anywhere. I will now seek more alternative non-official channels to try and get the version you need.

So I did as you did and installed adb onto my computer via the link but it says on my computer when I type in adb that 'adb' is not recognised as an internal or external command

Can you measure in time (minutes and seconds) from when it starts downloading to when it fails. So I can work out if its a 5 or 10 min execution time limit or something to help me narrow it down.

I just downgraded. And im at the part where i need to tap the hidden button lots of times... and the me u that pops up only has 3 options.. 1. Debug mode when usb is connected 2.revoke usb debugging authorizations 3. Some chinese text that i dont understand... I dont get the wireless option toggle switch that your tutorial requires me to switch on.. What am i doing wrong..??
@AllTerrainActionEV i figured it out. I needed to transfer the wifi apps first. Then the correct menu option turned up. I tried to skip a step. Lol my bad. Thanks for your quick reply though!! Im a little unsure about the warning on some apps that come up with "google play store needed" and the gbox app not sure what that's for. Once an app is installed is it possible to upgrade it natively or do I need to download and wifi transfer every time a new version comes out ?? Also with my bom weather app it won't do auto gps detect says because play store not available....
Also. Once I finished i reinstalled the later version of the system like your tutorial says. But once that installed.... I went to the OTA updates and it wouldn't do an update. Just said searching for update and then nothing. So I think I'm stuck on the version that your tutorial says to install again after the sideload process.. Do I just wait for the next OTA update ?

No, you just send them to your car via the app. And he’s browsers work a few options out there, not chrome but others that will work.

@@seriv210 you will eventually get the OTA update again, but otherwise so will supply the update soon if there is one that exists.
