OHHHHH DUDE I remember this. I rented this like 20 years ago and loved it. I've been trying to track this down for years but I couldn't remember the name and it's so generic it was impossible to track down. Thank you so much for playing this. When you play further you get a whole bunch of weapons (like 8 or 10 if i remember rite) and the weapon switch combos can get pretty crazy.
One of my first PS2 games... I hated it at first, but after a few months, i gave it a chance and played it again and... I loved it lmao Beat the damn thing like 1000 times. The dual Fire blades where the ultimate weapon in the game and they were just a hell of fun.
I actually rented this a few times back when it came out and I remember being blown away by the QTEs (given it was about a year before God of War came out). Good memories that are probably left as memories and nothing else. lol
Ohdeargod. I played this as a kid, so watching this felt weird. In hindsight it was rather adorable game. Like, in The Lore of the Game as an explaination for all the Same looking mooks ist they're actually Clones who only wear those weird glasses to conceal this fact bc the Evil Company ist obviously Evil. I really wouldnt mind to See more EOE, Matt! Going down the nostalgia Trip.
That logo is burned into my retinas; it was one of the top ten games you see every single time you go into a game store, but absolutely no one ever buys it.
I was having a hard time remembering why I knew this game. Maybe I played it? Nope. I didn’t recognize any gameplay watching this vid. I didn’t recognize the box art either so couldn’t be that. Then it hits me. Back in the day my buddy pointed at the title on the box and said that the E O 3 reminded him of Goatse
Yea I guess alot more people than I thought played this gem. Yea it's janky but it was the first type of qte based thing I played. So many good memories and the after game weapons too
I really loved this game growing up. I remember seeing advertisements for it in a magazine and it really felt next-gen just looking at that ad. Then I got it and it was totally mediocre, but I still had a blast maxing out all the weapons and getting all data modules. Agla was such an asshat. "GIMME A BREAK!"
I actually loved this game back in the day. From what I remember the controls were kinda weird and I'm sure they have not aged well. Still I played the shit out of this game.
Thanks for bringing back all the nostalgia feels seriously you have no idea how much this brought back Edit: Hold on.. thats all you played the game gets sooo good and is actually paced well.. BRING IT BACK NOW
alpha male stuff is based off research done on wolves published in a book, the same scientist then recanted that after further resarch but at that point the idea of alpha males had taken off too much for him to fix it, look into the birth of the manosphere, very interesting
This has unlocked memories somehow, despite me being like, 99.999% sure I've never played. Maybe a friend had it...? Either way, great vid, gonna have to track this one down!
I got this game for free from a friend who used to do video game reviews for the Dallas Morning News. Got to the first cutscene where you see the main character walking up to the bad guys with what looks like a toy light saber, I was like "Okay I'm done" and it sat on my shelf until I sold the majority of my video game collection years later.
"To use the Rod's Legacy Drive, we need one more Ley Seed." Was...that intentional? I'm not sure if that's innuendo or them just making up random destiny plot stuff.
The double blue laser sword looks like a plastic tube, and since Not-Leon actually has one hand holding the energy bit of the "blade" (I dunno what to call it), I think it's safe to say it is just a blue plastic tube.
Weird part of this is how this was the centerpiece of their aborted push for Eidos into the Japanese market. Lasted just 4 years before shutting down their Japan operations and striking a publishing deal with Spike for the rest of its life prior to the SE acquisition.
The line of everyone living in high quality in the 21st century is the biggest lie of all. Have you ever considered playing games like the PS1 Rugrats collection? It’s randomly been in my head the past 2 days.
When I was a kid I was obsessed with this game. I had a major boner for light-trails. There's a bunch of weapons and I liked the big broad sword the most, I think. The QTEs are hilarious (you get a viewer mode for every one you encounter, and there are some missable ones, but the NG+ loops). I maxed out all the weapons and got all the data files, as one does when you have no income and just play what you're bought. There's a part later where you need to combo the staff jump with a chain-swords grapple that works like hot trash.
Oh shit I have really rough memories of this game. I thought that I made it up all these years since nobody I know have a clue on what I am talking about.

When Matt busted out laughing at the nation being prosperous, I knew this game was going to be a hot mess
Not even a minute in he busted out laughing. 💀💀
Aw man it was infectious belly laughs and all 🤣
I mean, compared to Tonga maybe.
I have so many memories of this game. The QTEs was funny as hell.
I replayed it enough times to max out all of the weapons.

I just love how evil your laugh sounds. Also, surprised to see this game being played, brings me back.
The “male fantasy” clip for the phrase “high standard of living” had me wheezing 🤣
This gonna be good
Anybody know what that clip is?
@@WarriorBoy it's something like 'Buzzfeed Play GTAV'.
I found this game at a retro game store a few years back. I played it once, beat it, and then promptly forgot it even existed until today.
This was definitely one of my favorite PS2 games! My favorite weapon was the huge yellow sword
That huge yellow sword is the template I use in my mind for all oversized greatswords. I just change the colors sometimes.
yes, a man of culture indeed.
You've gotta see all the weapons at the end of the game; switching between weapons to do more combos is so incredibly fun
Definitely more of this. I have fond memories of renting it, enjoying it a ton and beating it over a weekend before promptly never playing it again.
Omg I remember this game! Holy shit never thought I’d see it again. I rented this game several times lol
I remember renting it when Blockbuster was a thing. Ah, memories.
Same
The title logo looks like goatse.
*WHAT?!*
I remember this game. It was ok. I actually liked it and thought it had real good graphics. 🤣
I been for years trying to remember this games title. Remember watching my dad play this in elementary
I loved the shit out of this as a kid. It's such a beautiful mess. Frustrating later parts included.
Please play more! A friend and I got stuck on an early boss in this game and always wondered what was past it!

Yesss. Been waiting for you to tackle this one day. So much jank.
I remember the music being really good and the rival was badass

I actually rented this a few times back when it came out and I remember being blown away by the QTEs (given it was about a year before God of War came out). Good memories that are probably left as memories and nothing else. lol
Aw for years I've been wanting you, or the old channel to play it, this is jank at it's core, so good.
08:15 at this point Matt should be officially declared as a permanent member of OSW
What does this mean???
This was my jam when I got this from a bargain used game bin way back when.
I still have this on PS2 its pretty funny.
The jankiest of jank, this was a good time, thanks Matt!
Yes! Definitely more of this!
Thanks Matt for checking this out. I remember telling myself that is has to.get better the further I go.... but it didn't lol
This game brings back so many nostalgic memories.

I never thought I'd see the day this game came back to the front of my mind palace
you did not even get any of the extra weapons to see how really jankie things get
