We are being told this year by the Voice of college football SC , that gang , to not have too high of an expectations for SC , because Lincoln Riley is young and he will need more years of experience before anybody would expect anything out of him . To receive over $110 million dollar 10 year contract salary , is not Bad for an on the job training experience.

Let's talk about Marvin Harrison Jr!!! He's the best player in the Nation hands down. Without MHJ they easily would have at least 1 or 2 losses.
I have respect for players that are up for the Heisman that don't play QB or HB because they can't throw the ball to themselves and defenses .....cough cough ..... Smart/Good defenses make adjustments to stop WR's.

From a USC fans perspective - all you OU guys are correct! I really did not know much about Mr Riley before coming to 'SC and felt he might be the one to breath life back into a badly sagging football team. The hype propelled things in a good direction, but it has become apparent that this was a paper tiger. I read from another OU fan that Lincoln was all show and no muscle. I heard from a USC source that the weight room was a ghost town compared to previous times where you practically needed a reservation in the wee-hours. Then I watched USC get pushed and muscled around all over the field by a much more physical Notre Dame. My only comment is that if *I* (who have not played football since pop warner!) were coach, this team needs a huge dose of Vince Lombardi - get back to fundamentals. (You know - "THIS is a football"). The O and D lines are somewhere between useless to mediocre, missed tackles, missed blocks, missed assignments, etc, etc. This does NOT portend to a well coached football team. I mean if you cant block, cant tackle, get pushed around, no defense, even no offense when the chips are down, turn the ball over, and oh yeah - special teams that are sucky - but other than that - look out! We have a great football team!!!! Dont get me wrong - we have all the talent in the world. But even a world class orchestra really needs a decent conductor!

Riley is a crap coach. His O scheme is flawed. He doesn't pay attention to defense or special teams. His game management is a joke.
I've been a USC fan for 50 years. He's Helton II, with all of the same coach-speak excuses.

You’re spot on…you know you’re a bad coach when the fans can see the problems but the head coach can’t

OU made riley look better than he is. Stoops left him fully stocked cupboards. He didn't recruit CD Lamb, DD Westbrook, Creed Humphrey, Ben Powers, Orlando Brown, Joe Mixon, Samaje Perine, Kenneth Murray, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray. Etc. SC thought he knew how to build a program. Thanks for selling out riley and taking those trash coaches with you. Now we have real Sooners in charge. No more texas tech style, all offense and no defense for us. That show is out west now. He's a good OC. That's it. BOOMER!!!!

They don't deserve to be ranked. If it was any other team they wouldn't be ranked. Especially with that defense.

I’m glad Riley is being exposed for what he really is. Took USC to the cleaners, and yes, wasted Caleb. Caleb made the wrong choice, so be it. Personally, I don’t think he’s going to do that well in the NFL.

He will do great in the NFL because he will have competent defenses. He’ll be fine. He needs to leave after this season for sure though. 1 injury could derail it all.
