You still have loads of great spots on long island to get to man. Suffolk La Scala, Commack. Emilios, Commack. Branchanelli, hauppauge. Prob 40 other great ones between nassau and suffolk. Hope u hit em
Carlos’s Manorville and Shirley are excellent also. Nice thin crust little crispy, good sauce.
Growing up on Long Island, it's still the gold standard for NY pizza for me. A lot of places are a little too thin for me. Having said that, we always ordered our pizzas "well-done", so maybe that gives it the extra boost to even out the chewiness of the dough. I wouldn't really call Long Island pizza "doughy", though. That's more of a football pie vibe to me.

You should go to Talluci in Farmingdale- Little small spot, but the best pizza i've ever had in Long island, NY. So much flavor in their slices.

I've never had long island pizza, so what is the difference in the way they make it that makes it this style... is it a thicker crust? not cooked as crispy? a different flour? the dough fermented less time?
