I went to Kennywod for the first time last July and I have to say I had the best time on the Racer and the Thunderbolt. Speed and height, don't always equal the best ride. I wish there was a park like Kennywood with it's historic charm in Florida.
Great video - this ride is faster and scarier than it looks on film, though. The initial drop out of the loading station is a bit of a shock if you don't know it's coming!
I believe the starting and finishing points of this ride were built in the 20's, but the middle part, which is after the chainlift, was built in the 60's. Nevertheless, it's a great traditional coaster!
When I was there, they weren't serving sodas at the fry stand at that time (maybe the soda fountains were broken at that time) so I had to walk to the next stand to get my soda which was the Tower Refreshment Stand if I remember correctly.
The fries with garlic sauce at Cedar Point and the fries with gravy sauce at Kennywood are the best I've ever had. Don't forget to walk across the courtyard to get your drink at Kennywood.

Seriously fly, what are you nuts? I don't think this ride would reach safety standards if people were smacking their heads off of the phantom. The only guy that could possibly knock his head off of that rail is Kenny George from UNC Asheville.

I agree, I like the feel of the old, wooden coasters. I like the steel, big stuff too, but the look and sound of a wooden is better.
