Hey there Jacob!!
I live in So. Maryland (by way of SWFL. 🌴🌞) and my elderly lady (97!!) grew up in West Mifflin PA. When I first met her she talked frequently about Kennywood Park. She remembers everything about KWP!! When admission was free, when the park would have concerts on the lawn in summer time. Her mother would pack a picnic basket for the 8 of them, and they would make a day of it. She used to live right down......or up? From KWP, and could walk there from Eliza Street! Amazing!!
To anyone to noticed I may have missed a certain attraction, stay tuned......it’s coming
This is awesome! You definitely should come 2 hours north to Conneaut Lake Park, Waldameer Park, Drake Well and the O.C.&T. Train...and then head east to Knoebels while you are here!!!
I am so relieved. It really makes the pARK.
Check out Har-Ber Village in Grove, OK.

By the way, I'm a huge fan of your channel. I love vintage artifacts and abandoned sites. History at its finest. Glad to be a subscriber. Looking forward to future videos.
I go to Kennywood every summer, I love it so much and I definitely think that the Steel Phantom is the best ride there. If you didn’t go on it you really missed out. It’s so fun!
@@payton____5274 its the phantoms revenge. The steel phantom was refurbished into phantoms revenge though. Cant remember the date.
I’ve been living in Pittsburgh all my life and that park was always my favorite.
Same I live in the south hills
I live in Pittsburgh and kennywood is my least favorite theme park. They really let it go. It’s not even fun anymore
We used to go every year and then every now and then go to Cedar Point in Ohio.
They used to have a wild west fronteir town section fot eh park there but they ripped that all out in favor of more coasters. I used to like that part.
Kennywood still has a lot of olde tyme stuff from 100 years ago. The Thunderbolt used to be the Pippin and it was more like the Jackrabbit. Then they added those front loops you see all the time on the commercials and renamed it the Thunderbolt.
You know you are getting RUclips famous when on a Sunday morning your video gets over 1,000 hits in less than an hour of posting. Keep up the good work.
Whoa you're in my neck of the woods ,how crazy!! Kennywood!!!
Derry. Not Allegheny County but westmoreland
Same here!
Im from Westmoreland county
Yoooo, I'm from Indiana county!
Hi from Pittsburgh! Kennywood is a staple of the city, I’m glad to see you come try it out!
The ski lift goes up to an upper parking lot, and garfield nightmare sucks compaired to what the old mill really was.
May I ask what the Old Mill used to be as this Garfield one looks terrible!
It was kond like going through a haunted west style mill town, skeletons, ghost type thingsz a true dark ride, none of this black light shit
Thought I'd interject...when I was a kid I lived in Pittsburgh when my Dad was transferred the Old Mill was a sort of haunted wild west boat ride if I remember correctly. It was really cool. Yeah the Garfield theme was lame.
I thought that Garfield & Rat trap thing we're really dark.
And ur skrewed if they are working 😂😂😂
Pittsburgh really is one of the nicer places to see here, in the North, and probably the only big City I'd consider living in. Top notch, down to earth folks all over town.
So glad you're there, showcasing this great little park in the area. As someone who's turning 39 this year, I really do prefer smaller parks to the big, corporate ones nowadays.
PA's got plenty of other amazing little parks too, like Knoebels, and Waldameer.
Kennywood is awesome!
Kennywood has a fantastic Fright fest at Halloween time.
This is my favorite park, I’ve gone to Kennywood every summer since I was 4 and now I’m 15 in July. I love these rides so much!
Yay! KENNYWOOD!! Welcome to Pittsburgh.
growing up this was my local theme park it’ll always be my fave
The chairlift goes to a parking lot and the statue is of George Washington. Also, Thunderbolt is 51 years old as of this year. :)
I always loved getting to sit on that chairlift and relaxing after a long day of walking around the park, with cotton candy or fudge or whatever treat I begged my parents to buy just as the park was closing lol. My feet always hurt so bad after being there all day.
Kennywood is such a fantastic small-town park. I live in Pittsburgh but haven't been for a couple years. This has made me so nostalgic for the park. Thank you for checking it out!
Pretty neat seeing keeywood on this channel. Went there evey summer when I was a kid.
I love Kennywood. I try to make it there at least one time every summer.
I know that exterminator line was long. It's always long. I love that ride
I cried on it a lot of times except for when me and my cousins went on it, I didn’t wanna embarrass myself
We waited on it for like an hour and then it got shut down cause somebody fell off when they were getting off the ride 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️
Santana Boyd Not always, I got to stay on the coaster 4 times in a row, no lines they whole day
Did you do the Noah’s Ark walk through haunted house? It’s also a neat old school treat.
It's also the last remaining operations Noah's Ark Funhouse in the word.
My mom tricked me into thinking it was a Bible ride... 30 years later 😱
Lol, not anymore it's not. When they renovated it due to internal rotting of the wood (because it was made in the 20's duh) they had renovated it to a lame fun house, like it was back in the 20th century
kyky quesadilla they had skeletons through the floor, Noah’s ark is and will always be Satans play ground, with the Bible sprinkled in.
The Garfield ride looks so much better in this video than in real life 🤣
I still can't believe they haven't reverted that to the Old Mill ):
I can't believe there's ever a line for it! The remodel is so bad. I wish it was still the old Mill.
@@jbkolod7557 Ask and ye shall receive.
I live here in Pittsburgh and it’s amazing
@@spacegirlpotter3531 And history. Old Mill on it's way back.
I go to kennywood all the time, the ski lift is never working lol
It only runs when the park is extremely busy. My uncle used to be the mechanic for it.
Going tomorrow! Woo! I look forward to going every summer
Kennywood used to have better Dark Rides. The Gold Rusher (which the Ghostwood Estates replaced). Le Cachot (a classic Bill Tracy dark ride), and the Old Mill (which was replaced by that boring Garfield nonsense).
The gold Rush was my shit lol
The Old Mill should come back or remove the Garfield and add a REALLY compacted RMC, but remove 2 pavilions behind it to make make room and maybe that one really big one
My god thank you! I thought I fever dreamed the terrifying dark rides from childhood. I couldn't even walk by without crying!
You forgot the Ghost Ship, but that may have been before your time (yeah, I'm an old Pittburgher)
They seem to replace all the good rides other than the coasters.
Btw jacob, thanks for showing off some pittsburgh stuff, i was waiting to see if you ever made it to the burgh, you need to go to latrobe and check out idlewild as well, its the sister park of kennywood, its about 45 mins from kennywood, they have a storybook forrest, amungst qlot of really old rides there
cadaver 70 i LOVED Idlewild as a kid, always love the Halloween stuff they had
Oh yes, idlewilds halloboo.....idlewild is just fun for everyone, and there roller coaster, the old school out and back, is just a fun little coaster....i think its called "rollo coaster"
Idlewild used to be a lot better...
I LOVE idelwild. I haven’t been in like 8 years tho
Every year during summer break from school, me and my relatives would go to Kennywood Park back in the 80's. The Thunderbolt was my favorite. Garfield's Nightmare used to be the Tunnel of Love. I really miss those years.
I graduated in 84 from hs. I remember school picnics and getting a new outfit and books of tickets.
Anyone else from Pittsburgh watching this just to see what outsiders think of Kennywood😂
Yes!
The first time I ever rode the Exterminator my purse fell down and I thought it had gone down into the darkness of the ride. Thankfully it hadn’t but it scared me more than the ride did 😆
The ninja turtle kid was a crack up! Very cool haunted house! Some jump scares in there for you Jacob! 😂☠️
6:20 the jack rabbit behind you!!! oh this makes me so happy
I live near Pittsburgh, so I go to kennywood almost every year. I’m actually going this Saturday if the weather is good.
lol that reaction on the Thunderbolt "Oh no, it never ends!"
Totally crazy that the last drop on that ride is the largest
JB Kolod I ride it I love it can you was the best place to go I’m so sorry for the new roller coaster cold steel revenge
That’s the revenge still curtain my
Memories of high school Kennywood day from the 60s!
Love Kennywood!
From Pittsburgh, just went to kennywood last week and it will always be my favorite. So glad you loved it!! Really made my heart full
pittsburgh man here. this is one of the highest quality videos of kennywood on youtube. appreciate ya
I'm going there today I've been there since I was a toddler I've been on all the rides so far and they're making a new ride called "The Steel Curtin" its representing Pittsburgh Steelers! And the steel curtain is the tallest roller coaster in Pennsylvania! My sister is working there and shes 17 alot of my family who were teens worked there as a kid my mom did back in the day when she was a teen!😊
I need to go back again. I make it a point to go on that big harness thing in the lake. 👌 It's good that I live here... But my friends think I'm insane. And then I'm waiting for the steel curtain.... Amazing
This is 5 mins from my house!!! this makes me so happy
Was there two weeks ago, sorry we missed you. Glad you liked our old trolley park in the 'burgh 😍
I live close to Pittsburgh like real close. So I go to kennywood a lot
If you're still in the Pittsburgh area you should go to Kennywood's sister park, Idlewild in Ligonier, PA. It was my favorite park when I was a kid. IT's owned by the same company that owns Kennywood.
Eh, I think that park would be particularly boring, unless you like kiddie parks
Primarily Rose
does he have kids he could take
Thanks for doing this. I used to come here in the 90's with my cousins. They still go because they live near Pittsburgh.
I guess this park isn't named after Kenny Rogers like Dollywood is named after Dolly Parton. Very Interesting indeed. Thank you for sharing Jacob. God bless you.
it is named for the Kenny family that owned the woodland the original trolley park was built on. The original Kennywood was just a picnic park in Kenny's Wood at the end of a streetcar line, and it grew up from there to what it is today as landscaping and rides were added over the years. The woods are all mostly parking lots and steel mills now, but it's still a really nice park with a lot of historic and unique antique rides and nice scenery.
0:50 Those go to an auxiliary parking lot up on the hill that never gets used
Enjoy welcome to Pittsburgh
I knew you would love Kennywood! That's why I suggested it during your livestream. So glad you had fun! 😀
I’m so happy you loved Kennywood. It’s my hometown park and no matter how many coasters I ride, it will always be my favorite.
I had a friend who used to live near there and talk about Kennywood. Pretty cool that you went there.
oh and i NEVER See the ski lift running lol.
I lost my plus one for these rides because they are old and no fun. I'm old, and I still want to have fun!
Thank you for taking me along! 🙆♀️❤
Then you and my husband can go...I only ride the Kangaroo and the Turtle (and in my opinion, THE best ride in the park). Haha!
@@Nenezilla 😄👍
thank you for this video. your hard work is appreciated.
Very appreciated
i just went there today! i absolutely LOVE kennywood! thunderbolt is my number one favorite ride there.. also black widow!
Thank you for sharing your day at Kennywood with us.
Oh my goodness, Jacob. I had as much fun as you did. Thanks so much
Cool I live in Pittsburgh and Kennywood is so cool
Thank you for showing off my lovely local amusement park! ❤️
Hell yeah! Kennywood is a blast from my childhood!
My top favorite PA amusement park. I would go to Eire's Waldameer, and still bring Kennywood up in a discussion.
So nice to see a traditional park. The rides looked interesting to say the least. Got to love old school. Awesome video. Keep Safe❤Keep Well❤
It's the largest "small park" I know of. There's such a fun blend of new tech and 1903 nostalgia. There are big pavilions there and patrons often bring their own food and have big parties there. It's been that way since I started going back in the day.
@@protorhinocerator142 seems to be an awesome family place. Glad you are close enough to enjoy it. Have a great summer.
The Exterminator was my favorite ride!
Your yells/grunts/groans are hilarious!! ;)
Ski lift goes to the upper parking lot. Only used occasionally for really busy days.
if you're still in the Pittsburgh area, jacob, you need to go check out the tour-ed mine in Butler county, and Fort Ligonier and Idlewild park in Westmoreland county. both are within an hours drive of pittsburgh.
Jake on that rollercoaster----😂! The things you'll do for your audience.😄👍
Kennywood is a fun park, used to go a lot when I lived in Pittsburgh. Hope you tried the fries they are good. And the ark is fun to go in...
Kennywood looks like a ton of fun! I love Jacob's reaction on the Thunderbolt!! Have you been to Oak's Amusement Park in the Sellwood neighborhood of Portland, Oregon? Its a great little amusement park, well worth a morning or afternoon of fun
I'm glad you posted this I haven't been there since 1970 whenn I was 5 years old uncle and Aunt that lived in Pittsburgh took me there and the Pittsburgh zoo and the Carnigie museum of natural History to look at the dinosaurs to take my mind off of my mother passing away thanks for posting the video
I have always wanted to see what Kennywood looked like! Loved that you stayed until dark, we got to see the park lit up behind you 😄.
Been there a few times, and just got our season passes for my family this summer! This is the first time I’ve ever bought season passes, and I’m really excited about all the fun to be had this summer!! We are going April 25, when they are only open for season ticket holders! Glad you were able to check it out!
This amazing that a RUclipsr like you is finally recognizing Kennywood and showing it to the world! I love Kennywood I always go there with my moms bestie and her kids
I'm glad you like Kennywood
I remember my cousins and I riding this back in the 90's but back then it was a typical haunted boat ride. It didn't have the cartoon images everywhere. Anyhow, things change, just like Carrowinds in Charlotte used to have a Wayne's World section of the park in the 90's and a Days of Thunder simulator. Come to think of it, the 90's was a great time in history!
Thank you for coming to my hometown finally Jacob! I really hope that you stayed and enjoyed more in Pittsburgh as well!
I told your friend Adam the Woo to come to Pittsburgh cause of all the historic sites and of course Kennywood
Pittsburgh used to have West View Park , another fun amusement park with a great wooden coaster, the Dips!
You and roller-coasters. Never gets old😂
Love the video 👍
You should have rode on the jackrabbit, the coaster jumps the track.
Larry Swetz The jack rabbit closed. Sad.
CMD5713 DK6472 damn that sucks 😔
Kennywood! I'll be going as soon as they finish the new coaster, the steel curtain!
I'm going to Kennywood for the first time in 10 years next week. I grew up in Pittsburgh so excited to go back and ride the coasters and eat at the potatoes patch
I grew up in Indiana, PA and never went to Kennywood. We went to Idlewild Park a bunch of times tho. I am going to let my parents know how unacceptable that is as parents! They failed me and my siblings!
Gooch That's funny.
It left more room for all the local schools that had our school picnics there- discounted ride tickets and free bus transport from our suburban school and our own branded school day! If you grew up near the Burgh, you love Kennywood and have great memories of it !
whoa kennywood is like an hour away lol . we wanna go when steel curtain opens . not a fan of football but new coaster 🤷♀️
Yea it has the most in the whole world for something. I don’t remember what tho lmao
Wow, how interesting because I like it so much more amazing, have a good time, my friend.
I am originally from that area and this is the amusement park of my childhood. Back in the day all the small towns would have a 'Kennywood Day' and everyone would go. So you would meet up with tons of people that you knew. The kids of the parents would just roam free from the minute they got there until it was about time to go in the evening. Meanwhile the parents would mostly hang out in a picnic area talking with each other and whatnot. Back in the 1930s-1940s there were trains, regular passenger trains, that would go to Kennywood from the various towns on the Pennsy line. The trains would let people off at the bottom of the hill near the river. Later there were buses. A number of the rides in this video were rides that I rode back in the 1950-60s. So yeah, this is old school, very old school.
He's so close to 200,000 subscribers. Let's help him get over the edge!
I was so happy when I saw Kennywood in the description because I'm from Pittsburgh, but live in South Carolina now. I'm so disappointed that you didn't show Noah's Ark.
Jacob while riding the Whip :Ohhhhhhhhrgggggggghhhhh!!!!
Ah, it wasn’t that bad
🤣🤣
I used to love going to kennywood every year. Noah's ark, the shooting gallery, auto race, the whip, and the old mill are just some of my all time faves. don't forget the potato patch fries and heinz ketchup.
I used to work at Kennywood in 2016 😂😂
I have family from PA and visited Kennywood a few times as a kid. Crazy to see it now👍
Thunderbolt is my favorite there and full of surprises. And you sat on the better side! Great historic park overall and one of several in Pennsylvania that have survived when many other small parks couldn't outlast the 60s and 70s.
I've been to Kennywood a few times and it's so much fun!!!
nice! im heading there with a couple friends next month for our yearly kennywood trip!
So glad to see u @kennywood i grew up there and even worked there I'm my early teens. Hope you had fun and ur reaction to the thunderbolt was classic. Lol
I have never been to Kennywood. Thanks for sharing this video. I'm now anxious to visit. I loved Geauga Lake here but they closed it. I miss the old , more family friendly amusement parks. Looks like a lot if fun.
Garfield's Nightmare was my first amusement park ride. I wanted to go on because I loved Garfield when my family went.
Glad you did Kennywood. It's a Great park!!!!
I was literally just there almost a week ago!!!lol😂
Thanks for taking me home. So many great memories, too many to list. Old Mill.... first kiss in 6th grade.
I was literally there just yesterday lmao
You should've tried "Noahs Ark"...and "Phantoms Revenge"...."Sky Rocket"
steve Max The Skyrocket and Skycoaster are closed this season. Skyrocket has been down for 2 years.
Diamond Grace, that’s what I heard too. Apparently they’re waiting for a piece that’s being shipped from out of the country. Still hast came yet...
