Just looking at Wooden Roller Coaster 4 makes me feel sick!

The last year that they were open they ran the cars backwards and called it the "back rabbit" . The gimmick wasn't enough to save them from the loss of the Wildcat and the failed economy of Youngstown though.

I remember going to Idora every summer for my dad's union picnic.

As this is typed, the Mine Ride is now in it's 55th season! I've ridden it everytime I've gone to CP in the last 20ish years. I don't care if it isn't the tallest or fastest in the park, I'll gladly admit I still love it!

Man this is a rare video of a rare coaster. A ride without the midcourse brakes into the loop was few and far between after the first year.

Man, shame it got too rough to upkeep because the amount of air this had looks seriously awesome, the laterals too

It's a legend for what if could have been. Not for what it actually was.

2023 here and the ride is so much more amazing and comfortable than it used to be!

Does anyone remember a coaster that dropped you down right at the start? They loaded you in and off it went, but instead of the chain pull up, you went straight down!

Most spectacular conventional rollercoaster I've ever seen.Wish I had ridden it.I know peoples' safety must come first,and there were Problems with it being wooden.But why oh why didn't they rebuild an exact same replica in STEEL?.The world of rollercoasters (indeed amusement parks) has really lost out with this being dismantled and not rebuilt in stronger material.Hopefully one day....????

A part of my childhood here! I have painful memories of Great times lost going to Idora Park (that is whenever we could afford to attend which was hardly EVER) Those days are now long gone. I cannot imagine the type of craziness that would be taking place within the park if they were still open today? I do not believe it would be good at All with the mentality of the current local denizens in 2021.

This video captures a glimpse into my early adolescence 1983-84. I've ridden this several times although preferred it as the "Jack Rabbit" when even younger. I miss when YOUNGSTOWN was booming in the 70s & early 80s. Those are my coming of age years! THANK YOU for videoing (clandestinely😁) and posting!

Rode it for the first time, a week before the accident in 2006. My brain banged against my skull the entire ride, everyone getting off of it was holding their heads! Mean streak was rough but this was horrible! Had it been smoother, it would have been one of my favorites. The Beast, Racer and Shivering Timbers are my all time favorite woodies!
