- Filmed on June 6, 2018: Here we rode on these diagonal funicular elevators at the Luxor Pyramid Hotel & Casino. These were modernized since I filmed them in 2012, but the mod was still nicely done although I liked the old concave fixtures better. What’s more attractive is the ride quality feeling so funny that I don’t experience every day! 😂🤣😅 You see my body swaying back and forth while I was recording! :D You can also see through the doors and prove that these elevators travel diagonally like what Jowevator 3219 did. Anyways, enjoy! :D Installed in 1993, slightly modernized in around 2014.

I think I remember riding this, and being highly disappointed that it looked and felt like a normal elevator to me. I wish they would have at least a small portion of the interior compartment made of glass so that you can see its unique mechanics. I guess they decided to do that on purpose so that people wouldn't get too freaked out.
This is #1 on my bucket list. To ride these elevators that is.
I’m thinking of staying at Luxor one of these years to ride one of these.
I have been in this elevator there. An experience i remember. But didnt know this is a bucket list thing...wow i already did it!
I guess you had to be there
FUN FACT: The Luxor And These Slanted Elevators Celebrated Their 30th Anniversary Last Year, Which Is A Good Fit Because This Place Is 30 Floors
We were there back in 2018, and they moved faster than this, and especially compared to previous visits in the past in the early 2000's
Wow, this is the most insane elevator I've even known!! One day I wanna book a pyramid hotel when I go to Las Vegas.
I rode these on June 4th. These are inclined!!!!!!!! They're already modernized. I rode up to the 30th floor.
Yes, it did felt strange of riding these.
I don't know why but when you looked through the door, it looked like it was moving vertical. But still these are for sure inclines! Also what's funny was that the floor indicator at an angle, looked like it was telling you what direction this elevator moved!
Some of my favorites in the city!
And yes I demonstrated the door thing
Someone with insider info told me that these are basically trains. The car sits loosely on train tracks and uses radio for the car panel communication and there's a bus bar for power. the counterweight is sideways and goes behind the cars.
I love how the floor indicator said EZ that was cool
That stands for "Express Zone" or more commonly referred to as "Empty Zone".
They are not key carded ? I will be staying at the tower and not pyramid next month and hoping I can ride the pyramid elevators.
Unfortunately, they are now smart key-carded. :(
@@JimLiElevators thank you for replying back.
Extremely amazing video!!! I've never rode a inclined elevator before.
We have 3 on the cofc campus that I know of that does this one Cato where you can see the door shake and move along with see the floors through the doors has an intresting vibrating feel and Maybank where it feels slanted and you can the floors moving . up or down. The only other one I no of is Randolph Hall cofc but have not experinced it yet .
Wowowowwow I been looking for this thank you!!!!!!!!!!!
I see the doors moving is elevator straight up and down
Ah yes, because straight elevators in pyramid shaped buildings make sense... might wanna retake geometry buddy
I remember Luxor being this game involving colored balls.
The most unique ones I have experinced include , Maybank , Cato
Robert Scott Smalls elvator from how fast this one is and the unique style on how it id more long than wide also the elvator in the St Phlipp's Parking George near City Bistro and Bell south wich also has nice and unique elvators but the grage next to it has an outdoor one that has one elvator that shows bellsouth from up hign and one elvator that has great view of the Ravenel Bridge and Ocean
I liked it a little
should have put glass on them...
I wonder how the shaft looks like
ruclips.net/video/Kv_N9rCEM2w/видео.html At 1:54 you can kinda see it. The way the tracks are looks very strange.
@@EWPA14 thanks
I wish he took a clearer shot of what is visible
Sadly, as of recent (September 2022) according to Andrew. These have the Floor Sensitive lockouts here
So these elevators are locked permanently now?
@@JimLiElevators yes. And your keycard will only unlock your own floor. I know some people were able to get permission to ride tho
I thought it was the other tower elevators and not in the pyramid?
@@JimLiElevators nope! This tower was also smartkeyed off according to other videos i have seen
So who got permission to ride these? Because I've been feeling that asking permission (in my case that is at least) has started to become increasingly hard not just because I could get denied, but also people are too reluctant to say yes which left me waiting for like 30 minutes up to possibly an hour to get approval by either the management or certain official...it is NOT easy. It's been happening like more than 7 times this year.
The luxor hotel and casino is amazing
that girl in the elevators was so cute
I have ridden the low-rise elevators at this hotel.
you said Otis series 3 when you filmed here 10 years ago.
I think there is no Series 3. Just a certain version of Series 4 I believe.
3:33 These are Otis Series 3 not 4
I’ve heard that there’s no such thing as Series 3 I believe.
what was the coin you had in the intro
That’s my Otis steel coin.
i think this is like a one minute ride. it is insanely slow.
If I ride that elevator I will feel sideways
This elevator made me nauseas
That felts so weird
Are there 8 elevators?
I think there are four elevator cars per bank.
So 16 total? So there are 8 elevators that move at 39 degrees angles and the other 8 that serve the lowest floors, 2-5, move straight up and down?
Yeah, I believe so. I have only did 2 banks, so I don’t know for sure though.
Here's a layout. You can page serach elevator. Look right? Make sense? The reason I want detailed info or accurate info is because I like to find weird connections or coincidences and one weird one would be if there are 8 elevators that move at 39 degree angles.
