That elevator is EPIC. I’ve never been on an incline elevator before but it’s sure on my bucket list. I can’t believe how fast it was for an incline. Seemed to run super smooth as well!!
I stayed here in June 2015. When I did stay here, I rode the low-rise (6-15) inclined elevators. I didn't film them though, since I didn't start filming elevators until March 2016.
I was in there December of 2023 and found an annoying floor passing chime for an elevator there. I stayed in the 4 Seasons and found some really nice elevators.
Very cool. you always find the best shots. I like the look between the crack in the doors at 6:24. And that stairwell is awesome! I didn't even think to look in there. I might actually like the stairwell more than the elevators. I just ordered my DD shirt btw. I'll be sure to wear it in a future video.👍
Perfect video of the day we all love to start the video on staying in shape and healthy and walking up the stairs is good cardio. I also love love that elevator ride
Definitely a very unique installation from Otis, I've honestly never seen them install an elevator like this anywhere else in the world. Although judging brother sounds of these elevators it sounds like they could use a little bit of maintenance because they sound pretty rough, also a lot of the buttons look worn out.
These are very unique elevators, one of the few funicular installations in the entire world! I'm happy I got to ride these before they were carded. Just a few years ago Vegas was relatively easy to film as long as you did not have any run-ins with casino security.
If you ever find yourself in Alexandria, Virginia, the George Washington Masonic National Memorial (Big ole building near old town with the masonic symbol on the front lawn) has a set of late 1940's Otis Incline elevators that actually change angle as they move up the building, starting off at about a 10 degree angle and ending at about 5 degrees since they were installed within a set of stairwells. They also angle towards each other so on the first floor they are about 60 feet apart and on the observation deck they are only a few feet apart. Last I was there in about 2015 they were still original with no plans to modernize them, but one was having problems and wasn't working. Very very cool elevators, but very hard to get permission to film there as it requires permission to be granted by the leaders of the Memorial. Also has a ton of cool artifacts from George Washington that were donated by freemasons from around the US, and if I'm remembering correctly it has the largest collection of artifacts outside of Mount Vernon and nearly all that pertained to his role as a mason.
@@DieselDucy Taking a look, it looks they were changed from manual operation to automatic sometime in the last few years, so not entirely original. I believe they are the only elevators ever installed that incline on two axis' though since they move both toward each other and towards the center of the building. Going from a far corner of the first floor to nearly the center of the tower at the observation level. Super interestingly they have an angled plate between the shaft and the inner and outer doors are offset by about a foot or so at the top of cab and are nearly flush at the bottom. Because of the offset there is a huge opening between the doors at the top so you can very clearly see all the way up the shaft on the first floor if I'm remembering correctly, which I have never seen on any other elevator. I hope you get the chance to film them though! I've tried to go back and see them again a few times but their tour hours are very infrequent so I haven't been able to make time while visiting.
Someone showed me photos of the shaft and turns out these are just trains sitting loosely on 2 rails. and the counterweight is mounted sideways behind the car. Unlike most inclinators the ropes don't have any support rollers so there's a lot of sag.
I wonder if Otis found a way to make their standard 6940 locks work at an angle, or if they had to make a custom batch just for this place. Kind of fun to think about!
It's likely the same as regular inclined elevators just extra-long. The car sits on 2 guiderails and the ropes are connected to the bottom, there's also rollers to stop them from sagging. Same for the counterweight.
The towering inferno had a great Line int he Movie. who plays Firemen to play! : as in a foot ball player, commenting on how much harder it is for firemen to climb up even just Three flights of steps but, what The Towering inferno was a High rise Twenty Plus Floor Building! The fire Protective Clothing, tanks of Air and etc. take a toll! I brought this up because, Diesel, said it was becoming hard at Floor Level Eight!
For years I only Had the Mono Mix of the Movie, but eventually the disk started to fall apart. so, naturally I had to look for a replacement and found the stereo Mix version in 2022. running the new version in Full range Stereo or quadraphonic just like any movie ... sounds way better!!
As of 2023 these elevators are SMART KEYCARDED meaning even if you are staying here you can only ride to your floor 😢
Aw man, that sucks. Honestly, I think keycarded elevators are even worse than modernizations.
Yep I agree with you
And this is with some hotels on the Strip having guards checking keys...
@@NWIndianaElevators yep. Vegas hotels are not easy to film anymore
@@DieselDucyall we can do is just go with other people and go to their floor, which is good enough.
That is insane how Vegas managed to put a 30 story hotel that is designed the way it is. These elevators are incredible!
They are cool but kinda scary at the same time.
@@DieselDucy national elevators and others have filmed here
Yes but it’s very hard to Air condition that place especially in the desert and it’s barely any cool during the summer.
Their ride quality is sub standard by the industrial power houses of vertical transportation manufacturing. Meaning..... The ride like poop.

it is not smooth lol. these are quite rough.

Man these things are awesome. Otis outdid themselves with this installation. Unfortunately I only got to ride these once..

Sadly smart key carded now
@@DieselDucy i know. Very sad. The desperate means for security in all these places has made this hobby incredibly difficult…
I'm impressed with you stair climbing! Years ago I did a race that was 40 flights. Not sure I could do it now!

Awesome. It was a very interesting stair well
Imagine if we diddnt have elevators and Evertime we needed to be on the top floor we had to walk 20 flights of stairs. Great job Andrew!!! 👍
Thanks. 😊
I like the music you used in the video where did you get it?
It says so in the description: Epidemic Sound.
Well i know the music that started when he walked up the stairs and the outro is Tiger tracks by Lexica, i don't know what the other one is.

This is probably only one of the kind elevators out there. Very unique
They were awesome
The far right Elevator is the FASTEST in this bank & the front left Elevator is slow as hell. I did a twilight zone ride on it & it’s sooo sick
