Mod In Progress: Otis Elevonic 311 High-Speed Elevators at Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

- Filmed on June 6, 2018: This is the hotel where we are staying at (room tour will be uploaded in the next few days or weeks). I cannot believe these elevators are getting modernized! They are only 19 years old. VERY shocked when I found this out! But anyways, here is a better HD take on these amazing elevators I filmed back in 2009. The cabs and the first floor elevator lobby are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! I LOVE French style design on both the cabs and in the elevator lobby on the first floor! As you saw on the mid-rise elevator bank, the cabs have been redone and the COP was replaced, and only one elevator was in the process of being finished The call stations are replaced only in the lobby. I hate to say that this was quite a cheap, pointless modernization. The low-rise & high-rise banks were not touched yet. Before I started filming, I have met up with 4-6 Schindler technicians,and one of them told me that these are Elevonic 311 is why I stated in the title (yes, I know it sounds rather weird as it was unheard of on RUclips). As for the high-rise elevator bank, you could see that one of the Schindler technicians was during a monitoring test on one of the elevators at the top floor when I arrived.
This also features a double bonus for this video! I got to snap a quick footage of the elevator car door operator and into the shaft itself, and I also got my Otis Series 4 micro-touch button! A BIG THANK YOU to Schindler for this AMAZING treat!!!! :D :D :D With that said, enjoy the video of these once most beautiful French-style retrofitted elevators before they are in the destruction of modernization. Installed in 1999, to be modernized in later 2018/early to mid 2019.

Looks like Las Vegas is getting a lot of changes.
I can even predict that most elevators installed in the 90's or earlier would be modded soon.
Harrah's has got their elevators modded recently.
I didn't go to Harrah's this time because the cabs on the Otis Series 1's were updated and the Dovers just have Adams "Worst Nightmare" Signature fixtures. Nothing special.
I THINK I KNOW THAT SCHINDLER GUY!!!! I have a ton of good Schindler buddies and Schindler know me super well!! They're becoming Schindler 6400NA I guess. I'm working for Schindler soon!! I got a tour of the Schindler warehouse not too long ago!! :D They also told me how I'm gonna get the job and it's IUEC (International Union Elevator Constructors) to work for ANY Elevator Company and I'm going with Schindler!! They're doing the same thing with PDX Airport also!!

Lucky I filmed all sets when it was still original back in 2017. What is the benefit of the modernization now in days?

Well that's sad. Luckily, there are plenty of otis elevonic 411's in vegas (not sure about elevonic 311). That's cool that he showed you the car top, you can really see how well otis makes their elevators at the time. Never knew that the door operator used magnets.
If you also see my machine room tour I filmed at 24 Greenway Plaza, you could see how well the drive motor as well. Proves you why Otis made the best elevators, I totally agree with you!
Speaking of Elevonic 311, there's an another one in Bangkok, Thailand, which some Thai elevator filmers have filmed them. (Including me)
That one uses Series 1 fixtures though.

Why should this elevator company be in buisness if they don't even bother to put floor indicators in their elevators?! These buttons destructed the Planet Hollywood Hotel as well and the indicators there are glitched as well
I think the numbers appear when you go up. I stayed there recently and I went on one of the new elevators, and the numbers were there.

I know Otis didn't make those lanterns, but I've seen Otis use them many times, & I've never seen Schindler use them, & the hall stations are definitely newer Otis.

Oh really now they are going to moderate most hotel elevators now compare to before. Why they really need to do it? I did few hotel last year and that original.
I have to agree with you completely. Not every elevator needs a mod. It's ridiculous. Plus, it's a shame Otis did away with the Series 1/Elevonics since 2005. Those fixtures there they used to use since the early 80s were the best-looking for modern day ones - anything postmodern doesn't look too special.
Also, ThyssenKrupp, Schindler and KONE got rid of their Impulse, MT and Series 220 fixtures, respectively near between 2004-2005.
Pretty much anything by the major companies installed after the Early 2000s is cheaply and poorly made and probably won't be around more than 10-20 years.
To be honest, I am not really against Schindler. But I am still shocked that these were getting modernized since they are not that old and didn't need a modernization.
What's the difference between a 311 and 411?
I have no clue. 311 hasn’t too much been known.
I'm going to receive lots of hate for this but The new ones look a lot nicer than the old ones in my opinion. Schindler does an amazing job with modernizations and their employees are super super nice. I might be getting a 28 floor Armor panel from them!
Where are you gonna get that? Is there an elevator that's in the process of modernization somewhere that I missed in Vegas?
I was recently in Reno for a vacation and the Circus Circus Sky Tower elevators are being modernized by Schindler. The last two were out of commission and being worked on by employees when I visited there and I left them my contact information. I still haven't heard from them yet.
Top Hound I would probably leave them a hand written note. I was at a local dentistry facility with one of my childhood elevators that are in the process of being modernized, and I did that. Alex Lucy (alpaljl) taught me that.
I left them a note with my phone number and email. I handed it directly to one of the employees working and they said they'd hand it over to their boss.

The lopsided yellow twin towers are the Veer Towers. They are condominiums, so I would highly recommend not to go inside without permission. I went in those towers before because my friend used to live there and they have Elevonic 411 elevators. I didn't get to film them because I was too young to film and it was before I set up my RUclips channel.
Yeah, I don’t really go into condominiums. They are very strict secure places to go into. They are private homes anyways. Anyways, I remember watching your videos!!! :D

I remembered watching your video of the Otis CompassPLUS elevator in a hotel in California. It was amazing!!! :D I’ll likely subscribe to you since I’ve watch that, and also the Mitsubishi DOAS one as well. Some type of high-rise elevator model just like the E401 and E411 I think.
TBH the new cabs don't looks too bad, but wish they weren't being modded. :(
The new cab IMO is alright honestly, but I like the older cabs better. On the mod, I totally agree!

I saw a pair of Otis series 1 Traction Elevators At The doubletree hotel and they are already being modernized they were installed in 2004.
No wonder I dislike this mod, it's because of MAD buttons which makes me so MAD.....
Las Vegas is getting modded with MAD fixtures. Here, Ceasar's Palace, Flamingo, and Planet Hollywood.
If I had a job at this hotel I would "report"(metaphorically) the company who did it,that's "vandalism" to old elevators,either this mod works way better,they're getting dirty cash from people to destroy everything old by their way,they don't have shame in their face

I just hate mods. To be honest, I am done with the modded elevators now. I more focused onto old elevators. Old elevators are what they have REAL characters in them.

Look, I get it now. I was wrong about the modernized elevators five years ago and you were right. Some old elevators did messed up with modernizations. So, can we please just drop it?

Sigh, another Caesar's property getting modded with MAD BS. PH also lost the Series 3/4 Luxury that it used to have. I have a feeling something is going to happen at Harrah's with their elevators being that old. Sad that they didn't keep the call station and lantern original in the lobby like PH. Seems like the days of Otis Luxury in Vegas are numbered.
I got an Otis Luxury call station from one of the towers at Ceasars Palace while Schindler is modding their elevators there. Also, Treasure Island is getting modded by Otis as one of the Schindler technicians told me at my hotel I'm staying at.
For some reason on the Casino floor they kept the original indicators but added new ones over them

oh yeah there is actually a indicator on the mod elevators. probably the elevator hasnt move yet so thats why it doesnt show the numbers. i also think they got the same technicians as planet hollywood because they both have the same fixtures that’s interesting.

I normally like elevators that were modded with mad fixtures though I must say that I dislike this mod as they are ruining these elevators these are very nice and I hate the new cabs.
If I had a job in this hotel,I would "report" the company who ruined the elevator,I wouldn't allow that "vandal",but either the new cab is not so bad as you think,they are luxury but appearence still old
