- Today we add extra travel to our V8S10 AKA SBC powerplant. Probably one of the cheapest vehicle changing mods out. I do recommend you have some sort of drag shock up front to control how fast the nose comes up.

You get all the weight transfer without losing the ability to steer. That's really important when it gets squirrely on the street. I like it!!!
You seem to be following the SRC guide to S10 suspensions. Are you going to chop the holes in the upper arms and add a bump steer kit too?
Maybe later on down the road. I'm going to do it in steps and see how it works out.
I wonder if they make these for a 1975 Firebird Formula 400, would LOVE to have about a 1” longer upper ball joint to make it a lot easier on the suspension. Dear lord in heaven, please make these man!!! Please!! Think I’ve already found a set for my 75 Formula! It’s made by Speedway Motors. They’re actually 1” longer than stock!!! Thank you lord!! Thank you soooo much!!!
Another good video! For separating ball joints from the knuckle I dont use the fork for that reason. Just run the not down a little but leave it on to catch the knuckle. Hit the knuckle around the ball joint with a 2 lb hammer and it will break free. Sometimes it takes a few times to get it but it will come free!
I have cleared balljoint body and boot with acetone and used high temp glue or silicone to keep the boots on. But I prefer .025" safety wire to keep them on, if you don't have retainers. (Just don't over tighten the WIRE. It will cut right through the boot) The stupid stainless zipties work too.
Hit the spindle on the squared area where the ball joint comes through with 2 pound hammer. Will usually knock it free. Then the fork
I enjoy your videos, but you should never install a ball joint on the underside of the control arm. All the stress will be on the bolts holding it in. When installed properly, the bolts and the flange around the ball joint will distribute the weight. The ball joint bolts can pull through the control arm when installed the wrong way. Could be very dangerous for you or someone driving near you. Ask me how I know. 1986, 16 years old, almost destroyed my 57' Chevy.
What u run in rear leaf or leaf and block I got 275/60r15 and 4 inch drop leaf seems to need taller tire now. It had 4 inch blocks and It sat lower when bought but rode like poo please help
Great upgrade to do along with the 2 piston caliper upgrade
Are those drilled and slotted front brake rotors with the extended studs a factory replacement? And if so, do you have a link to them?
I like it. I have same set up with some of your S10 has but not have that on mine . Great content brother 👏
A little tighter on the front will def help control those rolling hits
I think I'm going to have to put them on extra firm.
Would this ball joint allow you to lift the front end some? I realize in your application it lowerd your suspension... Just wondering if this would give enough clearance to add an inch and a half block under the spring....
Your engine is really strong!
What's the physics behind it, how exactly is it helping?
Turbo Jon and SRC explain it well I am still learning myself.
How many inches of travel did u have before the upgrade? An did u say u bought the 1 inch longer or 2 inch longer?
1" and I did not record the difference I just know more is better.
@@TPVPRO oh i deff agree was just wondering if u measured. If u gonna no prep or street the more the better forsure
I use speedway slip on cover and use a short silicone hose to keep it up and protect the shaft
That's amazing little trick but you forgot the bump steer kit. Then you got to find that alignment shop that has a dirt car outside or there. Sounding like someone is going no prep racing
Do you still have bumpstops on the upper c.a.?
240lb in the back seemed to help me the most.
And 12 lb of tire pressure.
Is everyone getting rid of there sway bar to run setup like this
Would this fit a 1999 s10? Website says it doesn’t but on the forums says it does
I have similar headers mine are 2”
I have read the control arm will hit the headers on rebound after a wheelie or wheel stand ( compression ) have you looked at that?
Fender well headers looks awsome. Tough work trying to get an s10 to hook
Bump steer baby! Need to put rear sliders on the rear springs and get rid of those shackles
do they react any differently on the street while cruising?
Will this work on the 4x4 s10's
@@50nick83 Not sure never worked on a 4x4 s10
That nice, do these fit 2nd gen S10?
Did you have problems with your upper control arms hitting your headers after Installing them?
I did not
I'm looking for a 2wd prerunner look on my Sonoma
Which springs do you use on the front?
Did this change the ride height any thanks for sharing
Yes lower
@@TPVPRO how much lower? And how much more travel did this gain you?
I know this is off this topic but got a question about your GoPro’s I’m just starting out my RUclips Channel slow10 garage and don’t have any GoPros yet was wondering which ones you have and maybe do a video about it explaining the pros and cons Much appreciated love your videos
Just starting out a go pro is all you need. I mainly use my go pro just for in car videos driving.
@@TPVPRO thanks for the comment means alot
Good stuff! Thanks
😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
Man I love this stuff.
Did it raise front end height?
Lower
Will these work with a 2 inch drop spindle?
Truck looking good man how fast have u been so far?
6.0 in the 1/8 on a 150 shot hope to get it in the 5.s this year.
You didn't have to get a longer shock?
I did not
@@TPVPRO good to know. Thank you for the reply 👍
How’s the new J. O. B. going now brother?
Good they have a lot to learn about RUclips but you can see me in this video I put together. ruclips.net/video/ZkHVN1yEipk/видео.html
How is it with no sway bar in the front on the street?
Do they make sway bars up front for the 80s S10? I never looked into it.
