I feel like fromsoft forgot all the little touches that made their games special. Melina should've appeared every time you sat at a grace so you always have this recited when levelling up, like the maiden in black. That would've made it so much lonelier when she eventually leaves too. Just levelling up in silence.

I feel like Malenia, in general, is one of the few things Fromsoft really did fumble. Because while it is novel to happen upon by chance when going to the Grace, I think it sacrifices too much ambiance by not making it mandatory. Or at least give her more dialogue that reinforces her actually being with the Tarnished at all times until we get to the capital. Remind me to check in once in awhile. Otherwise you miss out on moments like her telling you not to listen to Enia about sacrificing someone as kindling to the Two Fingers *(Should you tell her your plans to burn the Erdtree.)*

I think it'd still be cool if she really was saying "swords" instead of "thoughts".
