Its quite literally impossible to beat. The ballista play the role of a Boss as well just stacked together to do max Dmg in 1 shot and take the most dmg from enemy Attacks. Its only fair. But its also Lore accurate Melania never known defeated so.
I love how Radagon parries the first volley perfectly, and then they wait for him to still be in an attack animation as if to say "Parry this, ya filthy casual."
Gideon is underrated. The people who call him a joke are the people that just buff themselves 30 times and use comet azur, rivers of blood, pizza cutter, or inescapable frenzy and one shot him while he’s still talking.
Rennala's first phase was pretty brutal. Ballistae be like "stop throwing those books at me", and once Rennala descends from her bubble, all the ballistae turn straight at her and give her a firing squad treatment
The whole Maliketh section was brilliant. Him still talking while transforming, to being killed before spawning. Cherry on top was the ballistas turning around to kill the sentinel and have the set of armor pop up on screen. Just pure comedy lol
I like how, in Rennala's first boss fight, the ballistas saw a library full of babies as free target practice, and proceeded to exterminate as many as they could before hitting the 3 channeling the shield spell.
The best part of these videos is Gideon delivering his monologue to all these random enemies. *staring at a bunch of crossbow turrets* "Ah, I knew you'd come. To stand before the Elden Ring, to become Elden Lord. What a sad state of affairs."
I love that as soon as Gideon's boss theme plays, the ballista's fire and it stops. Then he picks himself back up, the theme continues, the ballista's fire... and it stops again.
This game always blows me away. The fact that i can find videos that have tons of bosses ive never even seen before, even tho ive beaten the game and have hundreds of hours in it. Always makes me want to go back for more
I thought radagon stood a chance when he tanked that first shot then the second one was like "nah" 😂 of course Malenia was the only boss that not only managed to kill at least one but also win
He actually deflected most of them. I knew he could deflect most sorcery, incantation, throwable, and bow projectiles, but I didn’t expect him to deflect the ballista bolts, and if I did, I would’ve figured they would explode in his face. Radagon’s a bit of a beast.
Godrick can't even finish screaming. Radhan got beat up on his own game of throwing sharp sticks. Poor death doggo got obliterated at spawn. Radagon being Chadagon as usual. Parried all the first barrage of sticks. Malenia actually practicing her intro dialogue.
Malenia only survived because she kept going into the air where they couldn't hit her. It's crazy how her moveset prevents her from getting killed by pretty much anything you could throw at her.
Also since Malenia can be staggered, she won't receive the damage of 10 Ballistas cause of her s of being knocked back. It's why her and Gideon were able to tank more than 1 shot despite having lower health than the other bosses.
Tbf the fact that Elden Beast is a God doesn't make it powerful in combat, golden order created soldiers for that reason, don't expect something that has never fought before to excel in combat.

You know when Malenia, Blade of Miquella was a well-designed-beat-your-head against a wall fight when 10 ballistas can't even take her down 😂. They should add an achievement saying that "You're at least better than 10 ballistas" when she's beaten.

Also, I think that the reason why the ballistas lost against Malenia is because they were packed so closely, while her skillset excels at high-damage sweeping attacks in a small area. It would be more difficult to set up, but the result might have been different if the ballistas were spaced around the edges of her arena.
Allow me to disagree, the issue with Malenia es always the same: She can heal on hit!!!!!. It is the only thing that keeps her alive challenge after challenge.

@@dash83 you got it wrong too, the main reason why malenia keeps winning stuff like this is a combination of a few very unfair advantages some of which are entirely unique to her. the very first one is that a LOT of her moves have hyper armour, meaning she can not get staggered out of them, even though her poise is actually garbage. the second one is that malenia can't get stance broken while she has hyper armour, this happens to other bosses exclusively during phase transitions (like godrik chopping his arm off) for malenia it's every animation that has hyper armour, which she can actually chain with with zero vulnerable frames in between. the only thing that can interrupt malenias hyper armour animations are status procs, like bleed or frost. one thing that is entirely unique to malenia is that, in the rare event she actually does get staggered, she can cancel her stagger animation into a dash to escape, she can also cancel some of her attack animations into a block.
It's great to see the majestic ballistas standing on the water and at the same time it's funny to see how Hoarah Loux is trying to capture the balliste. We conclude that ballista is one of the most formidable bosses in the game

the only thing that can interrupt malenias hyper armour animations are status procs, like bleed or frost.
one thing that is entirely unique to malenia is that, in the rare event she actually does get staggered, she can cancel her stagger animation into a dash to escape, she can also cancel some of her attack animations into a block.
