    I hope yall realize how helpful this tutorial is for those who have been asking about melodies. This may seem like a beginner tutorial but literally the most knowledgeable producer can use this technique to quickly make a beat. It's stuff like this that BWB wont show you because then you'd have no need to purchase his courses. Appreciate this one guys.

    Excellent tutorial! I would like to point out however, that rather than using the stamp tool, there is a "helpers" function in the arrow drop down to the left of the wrench icon, where you can do scale highlighting. It does the same thing as stamping, but highlights the scale all the way across the piano roll, and for all octaves automatically. Thanks again! Whenever you say "It's just that easy", I actually believe you.

    Great tutorial. I'm 41 and I've been putting money into the music since high school.
    I've learned more on my own through this particular DAW than I have with all the classes I took combined. I think it was first integrated in FL 10 where you could right click 'piano to keyboard' and chose from the basic scales. That's when I could really start seeing patterns. Music really is just simple math.

      this is one TECHNIQUE not the RIGHT way. I mean any TRUE musician would look down on this because music is supposed to be made from the feeling you put out from that instrument not by clicking a mouse and moving velocity levels up n down. Thus why SUPER PRODUCERS like The Runners, Ryan Leslie, Scott Storch etc. are labeled SUPER PRODUCERS is not because they CLICKED their beats in. They play multiple instruments. This can definitely HELP if you are having beat block but if you literally click EVERY beat you EVER make in.... wow..... its a shame truly. Take some time and put pride in the first WORD in your job.... MUSIC.... producer. Learn how to actually PLAY music (if you do not already PLAY most of your melodies in your beats) but this is just my opinion as a MUSICIAN and music producer/audio engineer. Keep grinding.

    • @JamesCA
      @JamesCA 7 лет назад

      I think that that's a decent work around, however it doesn't optimize chord building like this video here. What's so nice about FL's chord work around is that it gives the creator full view of additional note options to select and experiment with, that just blindly brushing in Logic Pro X doesn't have. I'm working on figuring something out, but would love help. I think there is an ability by using ghosts notes, but haven't cracked the code. I feel like this is an essential feature that should come stock within all DAWs

    I know there is some controversy about this... as someone that just want to make some basic beats for my raps... this video helped me far more than BWB basic chord tutorials. He actually put a similar video up like this that's double the length and didn't teach me as much. Granted as an all around musician (not JUST a rapper) I will take the time to take a real music theory class. For now this helps me create beats I can rap over my self and get started. With that said this video has not only helped me, but made me a sub here.
    (BTW I like BWB, I think he does a lot of good work, so I'm not for or against anyone here, but I loved this video).

    Or go to piano roll options-- Helpers --- Scale Highlighting -- Choose a root note and a scale. Then when you look at the piano roll all of the grayed out looking notes are within that scale.
