@@mohitbhosale3807 magnite has less power compared to tgdi u need to take note of that and moreover the magnite has CVT while tgdi is DCT. So power to weight ratio is almost equal here. Tgdi only pulls linearly that is the problem it is tuned in that way.

I thought that magnite was going to win because of that slow dct transmission in sonet but i thought the gap will be very less. But here the gap in the first run is quite a lot.
DCT's with paddle shifters are faster, in fact CVT cars are slower than manual gearbox car too in some cases, cause CVT's don't have gear and people have to balance the rev line on higher speeds if it's for a long period of time, cause CVT's were meant for comfort and convenience not for speed. That DCT gearbox has no gear shifting option, and shifts completely on itself, that's why it lacks on maintaining a quick acceleration.

There is a reason wheel horsepower isn't even close to crack horsepower. But, of course, the earlier statement isn't correct too. CVTs also have power loss. DCTs might have losses only when engaging/disengaging, but CVTs will have a constant loss. They just don't 'disengage' the power train like how DCTs do. I think that's what he meant.
It's a Nissan afterall, the company has had a great legacy in producing great cars & it's good to see the company has finally woke up & are pulling out all strings to remain competitive in this ever growing compact SUV segment. It can easily be coined as the most impressive Nissan product to roll out since its inception in India. Nissan just needs to market it aggressively & the Magnite will definitely set the stage on fire.
The 1.2 L 3 cylinder engine of the Micra is a gem, should have been turbocharged and brought in. It is peppier and could have been easily turned to do 125 bhp and 200 Nm.
Nissan micra... the Fiat punto abarth etc ... the discontinued cars we all should demand a comeback of.. but in the end with 10.25 inches screens on offer on certain others... we simply say “size matters” and buy them...
We had a Micra! I too had the same feeling!! Though the engine was not impressive on paper it was really peppy! By the way, there was a supercharged model in the international market with the same engine which went by the name Micra DIG-S.

Problem with CVT is that it is uncapable of handling torque higher than potentially 300nm. Turbo injection engines are a major trend and they offer a substantial amount of torque at low RPMs and they're quite pleasant to drive. As opposed to DCT, CVT always will care not to deliver it's maximum torque at lower RPMs or the tension belt may not handle it properly. Of course, for an urban drive CVT suits very well but in case you want a rather sport drive, DCT is the way to go.
Magnite absolute smoked Sonet. I hope the perception will change eventually. Just because Magnite is relatively cheaper doesn;t mean its inferior. Rather its GNCAP rating, overall features to price ratio and now performance seem to make it a much better overall package.
Totally expected the Magnite to win! It's lighter and thanks to the CVT, there's just one forward gear! Despite the Sonet's DCT being quick, the electronic systems on boards won't like it when the car's pushed so hard right off a start.
Exactly. I have been suggesting everyone in my circle to buy CVT. Unfortunately up until now all CVT cars were mated to pathetic engines. Duster Kicks and Magnite have changed that. Yes, single gear helps. It's like EV's single gear. I drove Duster 1.3 cvt and it shot out like a sling-shot.
Yes Magnite is very quick in response, I driven the car and it is really awesome pickup and speed. Very lite weight body so I felt it is not safe so booked KIA SONET 🔥and all the features are awesome at that price and it is fully loaded.
Magnite is 4 star rated despite being a segment lower than sonet. Sonet hasn't been crash tested but the much more expensive seltos turned out to be a tincan so i dont have high hopes for sonet.
Magnite has more power but I dint like the build quality of the doors and vibrations of the car. But seltos quality wise very good. Specifications you will get more in Magnite.

Kia's DCT felt like AMT when I took a test drive for Seltos when it was launched. Btw, I'm so used to the DSG, VW Passat is what I drive. There's no gearbox like VW's DSG. Kia's DCT is a joke for real.
Magnite is a complete package. Good mileage, power , features , value for money and bold looking vehicle. Brilliant Japanese engineering, so you can trust the engine for its durability too. Its evident in the drag race.

Actually the DCT is laggy in Sonet.
Only the first 2 gears are laggy after that the shifts are quite quick enough to overtake

I purchased magnite AMT and really enjoying it.
