Looks like another fun trip. You rebounded well from the fall. I am glad for that. Stuff happens sometimes. Part of the journey. The fluorescence part was good too watch.
I’m so glad you’re ok after that fall. It was good to include that in the video. I do some risky maneuvers that I probably should think twice about and I will now! Another excellent video, I love the crossover videos with Jared.
Man what a fall! 😮 but you survived 😊 I had no idea what fluorite was and it was very interesting. Seeing the fluorescent aspects of rock. Very interesting! That was quite an adventure.
Now that was eventful!!! You tumbled like a rock-star ! I chose to joke instead of lecture! Lol. So glad you are ok And came home with some great finds!
Eureka! You were just one ridge away three weeks ago. That fluorite is gorgeous. The mass “bubbling” out of the earth is incredible. Glad you are okay after that tumble, Lance.
Hi Kyle! I am blown away by how mineral rich the Wah Wah mountains are. Looking forward to going back in the SUMMER! lol. Thanks as always for watching and commenting! 😎🐶
I love flourite it is so colorful. I hated seeing the fall! It is not so much as the falling that hurts it is that sudden stop! I am glad you had layers on to soften that fall because down a slope with that much rock debris in it you would have really gotten some horrific injuries from it. I enjoyed the uv light and the information you can gather from it! Great video and you all had a lot of fun getting to hunt on Joe's massive claim! So wonderful he shared that with you!
I too was very grateful for the layers of clothing. I truly believe it saved me from some bad gashes and maybe even a broken bone. I look forward to going back there. But I’m waiting until summer! lol. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 😎🐶🐾
Well, delightful, indeed, that you were able to conquer the mountain on a few levels.. so glad you were OK.. the rock elementals had your back…whew!!! Slow and easy does the trick.. beautiful fluorite.. It would be fun to go back in the spring and rediscover what’s there🌀
The fall scared me. I was so thankful to her you were ok. Other then that very fun video and the fluorite is beautiful. One of the things I love about your videos are they are full of information and great photography. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome 👏🏻 video thank you for sharing. I have fallen while collecting rocks. Bruised my lower back more on my upper butt area. I’ll never go on a mountain in tennis shoes again. That bruise was so bad it displayed many colors of the rainbow. Good news with that story is I didn’t lose any of the rocks I had in my arms and hands. I now use my hunting boots, my four wheel drive boots. Getting old it’s harder to recover from a fall. Well it is for me. When I fell I was so embarrassed when my husband came to help me I told him “do not make it worse” he likes to joke at the worst times. Glad you’re ok and you got some beautiful rocks. 😊
Hi John! I was very fortunate. My ego was a bit bruised 🤪 and I had a few sore spots the next morning. But nothing serious. The Wah Wah mountains are rich with a variety of minerals. I look forward to going back. But not till summer! 🐾🐶😎
Thank you! That could’ve turned out a lot worse. Fortunately, I walked away with just a bruised elbow. Really appreciate you watching and commenting!😎🐶🐾
Wow!! I’m so glad you are ok after that fall! I’d be laid up for a while after a fall like that. I wish we could find fluorite (and many of the other specimens you find) where I live. We’ve found some very small specimens in calcite at quarries with our club. But none to slab.
Thanks Evan! Those particular mountains, the Wah Wah mountains, are rich in so many minerals and variety of rocks. So so much more to explore there. I feel very fortunate that they are within a 2 hour drive from home. Thanks for commenting! 😎🐶
SWEET finds. It is great to have rock hound buddies with you , your lucky with your fall. It looks like the other guys were wearing tennis shoes ! was I correct ?
I was very lucky with that fall! Fortunately, I walked away with nothing more than a bruised elbow. But it could’ve been way worse. I was wearing boots, but I do think at least one of the others were wearing tennis shoes. Really appreciate you watching and comedy!🐶😎
Hi Jan! I’ve tried to reach Joe to ask him about that comment he made about not using oil. I haven’t heard back yet. I’ll let you know when I do. Until then I’ll give you my thoughts on it. Oil is often used when working with metals for lubrication and cooling. Examples are drill presses, milling, turning and grinding. But with rocks, the oil would act as a lubricant and inhibit the friction needed to produce a fine polish. That’s my best guess. Hope this helps! 😎
It is a 365nm wave length, which is on the shorter end of the UV light spectrum. You are right about how the different wave lengths of UV light bring out a different result. There are also different quality UV lights. As usual, the best are more expensive. Jared @currentlyrockhounding recently posted a great video on UV light. It is actually quite a complex subject. You might enjoy that video. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! 😎🐶🐾
Omg yes I know what you mean with the glasses. I’ve had to take them off. Add progressive lenses to the mix and I can’t see crap with my glasses on. I finally had to get some single prescription glasses for rockhounding so I can walk around on gravel without falling. I just can’t see anything up close. I end up taking my glasses off but then everything is blurry and I get sunburned eyeballs. Maybe try a less dark version of the transitions for this stuff?
I usually have a pair of regular non-transition glasses on me for these situations, but I forgot them on this trip. Everything seemed to go wrong on this trip, from weather to the extra dark turning glasses to the fall; except for one really big, good thing: FLUORITE! We found lots and lots of beautiful fluorite! Thanks for watching and commenting. 😎🐶🐾
I am pretty sure thats not opal my friend , that is most likely A) .. clear Quartz with purple & green Fluorite , or....B)... just completely made of Fluorite, and the clear is also Fluorite . . I know the deposits of opal in that part of the country, but thats not it . .
That fall was scary! I’m glad you are ok. It is good seeing all of you together. Good times!
Thanks Dave @endgamecampers! I can’t wait to see what you build next. Love your channel!
Thanks for this video! It was awesome seeing you, Jared, Joe, and Stan rockhounding together! And Lance, be careful next time!
Thanks! Those guys are awesome to Rockhound with. And I will be careful next time. I was lucky! 🙏😎🐶🐾
Looks like another fun trip. You rebounded well from the fall. I am glad for that. Stuff happens sometimes. Part of the journey. The fluorescence part was good too watch.
Thanks so much Collene! I’m glad I bounced back up as it could have been much worse. Always good to hear from you! 😎🐶🐾
Glad you ok. Good there were friends with you.😊
I’m so glad you’re ok after that fall. It was good to include that in the video. I do some risky maneuvers that I probably should think twice about and I will now! Another excellent video, I love the crossover videos with Jared.
Thanks so much! Jared is amazing. I learn so much from him. 😎🐶🐾

Thanks Super Snarr! You’re Super! 🤠
Now that was eventful!!! You tumbled like a rock-star ! I chose to joke instead of lecture! Lol. So glad you are ok
And came home with some great finds!
Thanks! My elbow did all the lecturing necessary. Lesson learned! It’s always good to hear from you @tott3457! 😎🐶🐾
That was a great day out digging, for sure.
I'm glad nothing terrible happened to you or your camera when you took that spill.
Me too! As always, Shadow and I very much enjoyed our time with you. Thanks for sharing your abundance of knowledge. I learn so much from you! 😎
That purple fluorite patch on the surface is so cool. I got so excited when I saw that
I thought it was so cool too! 😎🐶
Came for the Fluorescence but, the tumble was pure Gold :-D
Awesome comment! Thanks!!! 😎🐶

The rocks are great. The uv part was very educational. Thanks for sharing this video. Take care and be careful.
Thanks and I will do my best. I don’t want to fall like that again! 😎🐶

Yes I definitely want to go back and explore further. But I’m going to wait for the summer! Lol. Thanks for watching! 😎🐶🐾

I was embarrassed too! I guess that’s human nature. I’m so glad you were okay! Thanks for sharing your story. Keep on rockin! 🐾🐶😎
Hey Jared good to see you out as well. Great place to be!
Jared is amazing! It’s a privilege to rockhounding with him. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!😎🐶🐾
Glad you are ok. Beautiful landscape and rocks.

Thanks for the education on UV lights! I will definitely drop by your rock shop in La Verkin. 😎
Wow, that was quite a fall Lance, I am glad you were OK. You got some lovely rock samples though 😊.
Hi John! I was very fortunate. My ego was a bit bruised 🤪 and I had a few sore spots the next morning. But nothing serious. The Wah Wah mountains are rich with a variety of minerals. I look forward to going back. But not till summer! 🐾🐶😎
@adventuresofshadowdog glad you are OK. It did look really cold, so a trip in the summer would be much more pleasant.
Glad you are ok from the fall.
Thank you! That could’ve turned out a lot worse. Fortunately, I walked away with just a bruised elbow. Really appreciate you watching and commenting!😎🐶🐾
Always good to know when to keep quiet. 😂
Agreed!👍

Thank You! 🙏
Can you explaint the water not oil with the Flourite please. Also, really glad you are ok from that fall. So much beautiful purple .....

Well dang that was quite a fall! How were you feeling the next morning? Glad you’re ok!!
Hey Doug! I was very lucky. The next morning I had some bruises, but nothing serious. Whew! 😬
Is that a short or long wavelength black light? I’m always surprised how differently stuff will fluoresce in short vs long vs regular light.

I know! I was very lucky! 🤪
Sq. Mile...640 acres.
Wow! Thats big!

So interesting, and educational! Thank you so much, would love to ride along with you cowpokes sometime.🦠💥
Thanks! What part of the country do you live in? You’re always welcome to join if we are in proximity. 😎🐶🐾
