    I've been so turned off by dual forms, but using them just to form the free edge is genius! So simple, but so, so smart!
    Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! My nails will be going much quicker tonight! 😘

    I love the way you are using the dual form! I could not get the forms to stick to my entire nail, but this... this is perfect!!! Use them to build a tip and then fill in!!!! Thanks!

    Omg!! This was the best! I’m new to poly gel and have been trying to figure out the dual forms and one layer has been so tricky. I’ve tried several times with other tutorials and it’s still so hard. I’ve have many times where I think it’s cured all the way but then a week later when I go to take off the poly gel I find that there is un-cured product on my nail!! Gross! So this video was soooo helpful. Can’t wait to try this once my little one goes to bed tonight!

    • @krystalfukinmarie757
      @krystalfukinmarie757 3 года назад

      That happens a lot with colored polygels. Any dark colors, and white. Like there’s too much pigment in them to cure all the way through from the top. Are you still having that issue? If so, another thing I’ve found that helps is do a thin layer with clear, cure it, pop the form off (dual form or paper form doesn’t matter, pop it off) then do your color, cure it 30-60, flip your hand over & cure another 30-60 (unless your lamp actually has a reflector on the bottom, mine doesn’t but I got a mirror to set it on so now I don’t have to do it twice like that)

    I'm so new to this but this technic was my second to try i started with polygelnails first then i was like what about trying the gel on forms 😂 I'm glad I'm not the only one. This looks so much better than other ways.

    Thanks so much for sharing - total amateur here (first experience with polygel and popits was 2 weeks ago and I found I had poor control over structure and bubbles, omg, the bubbles!). I will have a lot more control of what's going on this way. Seriously appreciate your time and effort on these vids - it'll go a long long way for me to save $, effort, time and worry about not doing this right. Can't wait to do my next set tomorrow

    I am in the process of switching my acrylic clients to gel. I tried dual forms on Kendelle on the weekend and oh man, what a fricken mess. The gel I used was thinner though so I think that is why I had such a hard time. I have learnt where I went wrong and know what to do different next time. All I can say is thank goodness gel is easier to file, lol. I never in a million years thought I would use gel. I am liking it but need a lot of practice.

    I have never done this, but it is clear that you are definitely doing this harder then it has to be...

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  5 лет назад +2

      No ... I do this because it’s better than gluing on a plastic tip . I’m known to experiment with different ways of doing nails . I always use regular paper nail forms and never use dual forms or glue on tips . Dual forms are not typically ever used by licensed trained nail techs . You will never see them in a salon . But yeah , if it’s not for you than that’s completely fine .
      * I do have to point out another reason . When dual forms are used , one never gets the correct thickness or structure of a proper nail . That being the main reason for this . This acts as a tip and I build the correct structure on top . Otherwise dual forms just break off within a day or lift Because they are so thin and the structure is not correct.

    Looks great!
    You know if you prep the entire nail first you can just build on top of the tip, you don't have to file between, you just file after you build over it all :)

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  6 лет назад +7

      No , you need to file in between , because gel needs a rough surface to grab ahold of . Trust me , I been doing gel for a number of years .

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  6 лет назад +2

      Yes , this should be better as long as you add more layers to it . Builder it a bit thicker each layer . There are some people who don't understand my concept here . But I use the dual form as one would use a glue on tip . When you use a glue one tip , you add a layer of acrylic and or layers of gel . This dual form takes the place of and acts like a glue on tip ....only it isn't a glue of tip . I hope you find this way a bit better and that your nails last longer . Let me know how it works out for you .

      Mine lasted for weeks and weeks until I just removed them .
      I think people don’t understand true nail structure and the apex and why a nail has to be built a certain way . Hence why dual forms are not a good choice for Constructing a nail tip. Dual forms do not give the correct structure for a artificial nail that will last a long time. They just don’t understand .

    Please enter me in the drawing for the UV/LED light. I like this video the best because it lead me on the path to learning to do my own nails at home. Although I never mastered the use of acrylic to do nails, when poly gel arrived I can do my own nails now with polygel and dual forms in just over an hour and they look like I had them done at the shop. I love

    Hmm. I'll have to give this method a try. I kinda gave up on the forms bc I was trying to fill the forms up with gel (thin on the cuticle area and sidewalls) and place it on the entire nail. I'd only get about 2 correct out of 5. The gel either was too much or too little. I know practice makes perfect but I still got frustrated and gave up, and went back to regular forms.

    So I have a quick question... If you don't mind, can you please tell me what the name of the little pointed rubber tool you use to wipe around your beautiful cuticles? I've searched online typing in the obvious key words but no luck. That tool looks perfect for around the cuticles. Anyhow, Your nails always looks so nicely done. Even your natural nails are very healthy and pretty. Thank you for your videos... they have been help to me.

    😂 right tho! I wouldn’t be able to just do one layer and have it last either. I do mine similar when I use dual forms. I make like a nail tip with it, I don’t do it to cover my whole nail bed. More like the bottom half of it. Cure it. Pop the form off. Then build the nail & apex. Works so much better for me. But where did you get that silicone thing you clean around the cuticles with? I’ve been looking everywhere online for one & can’t find anything like it 🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @krystalfukinmarie757

      You know , when I put this video up I had people coming on saying, “ oh , you’re doing that all wrong” ! .... and “ that’s not how you use those dual forms “ ! As if there’s some law where you can’t use dual forms any other way 😑They just didn’t get it and some still don’t . This is a way to make a nail tip without using a glue on tip . It’s a way to use a dual form and get the right structure . I’m so glad an appreciative that you and some others actually get what I’m doing here .

    • @krystalfukinmarie757
      @krystalfukinmarie757 3 года назад +1

      @@Denisejohn65NailEd omg, I believe it. There’s a video young nails did a couple years ago that’s like “how to sculpt without forms” or something close to that and people in the comments are arguing with one another bcuz “he still used a form" (it’s a full cover tip used like a dual form) 🤦‍♀️😂

  • @NailsbyGGRNVLE
    @NailsbyGGRNVLE 6 лет назад

    Have you tried doing a whole nail with the dual form, it does work

    • @Denisejohn65NailEd
      @Denisejohn65NailEd  6 лет назад +1

      Probably , but I would still file and add layers of gel , cuz you can’t get proper structure with dual forms . I never really use dual forms . I use normal paper forms .
