The n64 recomp tool is so cool, basically any n64 game can have a pc port without having a decomp. I personally want to see someone do a Duke Nukem: Zero Hour recomp.
I hope documentation comes out sooner rather than later. I guarantee you one of the first titles someone else is gonna try is Super Smash Bros.

I wanna see a Donkey Kong 64 done. It’d be cooler if someone made new models and hd textures.
I can't wait until Nerrel's HD Texture Support gets added to this program. Then I will definitely give it this a try on my steamdeck!

whenever they add oot support will there be a video on setting it up?
so for now, its still on original textures? i seen the ocarina port with ship of harkanian, with the "upscaled" 3ds textures , whats the difference with this recompile port vs original, didnt have a chance to play the OG so wondering if this visually upscaled and what other changes other then mentioned widescreen are in this
This is Majora's Mask, not Ocarina of Time. Ship of Harkinian is still OoT only.
As far as I'm aware, this MM port is mostly feature complete. There's still plans of allowing texture/model swaps, right stick camera controls, randomizers and mods and more.
pc ports don't guarantee hd textures or models, idk where you got the idea. you have to mod ship of harkinian to get those.
as the other dude said, ship's still OoT only, MM ship will be out at some point. There are plans for nerrel's hd pack to be ported to both this and MM ship
Update: SoH released their own full decomp of MM (without use of N64 Recompiller), it's called 2Ship 2Harkinian (2S2H)
I'd be curious if anyone understands further detail on running the pc port of n64 zelda games.
Ocarina of Time works on Linux, but not windows and Majora's Mask works on windows and not linux.
Same ROM so I'm confused why the same ROM wouldn't work on a different operating system for both pc ports.
the pc port is amazing so far let hope this be successful can it also work for ocarina of time rom as well since it a new launcher

Anyone know how I can play this on batocera?
I hope there will be an option or someway to make the cutscenes the standard frame rate. I’m playing it now on steam deck (it’s literally my favorite game of all time) due to the animations being created for the 20 fps animations. Even simple things like when Skull Kid hide the Ocarina and when Link try to jump at him. But the gameplay so far feels amazing and just looking at the game in action at 90 fps 🤯
The Ocarina of Time PC port is a few years ahead at this point which might make people prefer that. It has a lot more features as a result of being a very mature release at this point of time.

I want camera control
The dev says it's a planned feature.
Yeah I never played the famous Zelda title back in the days because I was team ps one. But every time later I tryed it on ps vita or Steam Deck with Nintendo DS or n64 emulator I couldn't enjoy it without camera controll
@@MioMate187 i have no idea how they played these games without it, my patience ran out pretty quick when using an emulator

Sadly this only works with the NTSC Rom of the Game 😢
It tries to launch but instantly crashes. Any reason why this is happening? Happens in both desktop mode and game mode.
Typical how nothing works like advertised when I try to do it! :D
I downloaded and extracted the files, then added the ROM into the folder. Then I opened the right-click menu and clicked "add to steam". So far so good. I could see the title in the Steam library in desktop mode and I can even play it just fine in desktop mode, but when I go back to game mode it's nowhere to be found. It's not in the non-steam games section. I don't get it! :D
I would try right clicking and adding to steam again. Failing that, go into Desktop Steam and add it from the Library screen.

No matter how many instances of it I try to add into the library in the Desktop Mode, they just won't appear in Gaming Mode. I don't think that the folder where I put the files should be the issue...
@@HiTechLoLife I got it work now! The issue indeed was the folder that I installed it to, although I have no idea why.
I first put it into _home / deck / games / majora's mask_ but it didn't show up in Gaming Mode. Then I extracted the files directly into _home / deck / downloads_ and then it finally showed up in Gaming Mode under non-steam games! I have no idea what was wrong with the initial folder ~
Meh if it’s not like ship harkinian then I don’t want it yet.
