Oh this is so helpful! I saw a young sewer make these pants. You sent her a pattern and kit. They looked great, and she seemed to enjoy making the pants. I've watched part of this video, and I'm sold! I need to give this a try. This will be my first time trying to sew a pair of pants, and I think with all of your support, I can do this! Thank you! Going to order now..... !
That is so exciting! You’ve gotta start somewhere and this pant is nice that it doesn’t have a zipper fly. And it’s easier to adjust towards the end to help you get the best fit possible. Packing up your order now…
@@AnnTilleyHandmade Thank you so much! I really appreciate how thorough you are with the specifics of the pattern, options, etc. Offering a kit with the needed notions is genius and very kind. Between your materials and tutorials, I feel pretty confident going into this. Yay!
I have only just found you & subscribed love the idea of these pants but wow really love your tshirt do you have a tutorial on this ,thanks so much from Australia 🇦🇺
Haha I don’t have a tutorial on the shirt but it’s certainly an option! I made it during one of my coverstitch videos. I also talk about it more in my 2023 year of makes (I ended up making a dozen of them!) and it is literally my fave shirt ❤ I’m glad you liked it and you found me! Welcome!
Sizing guidance is so incredibly helpful! I am very curvy; bust 42” waist 35” Hip 46” so I have been afraid to sew anything but dresses and skirts. This will be my first pair of pants! Hoping to make something office appropriate. 🤞
You can do it! There’s some guidance in the beginning of the instructions about grading between sizes. Might be good for you to go down a waist size and keep a larger hip. I’m here if you have any questions!
I genuinely just gasped when the magic pants came onscreen, I've been trying to design/find and sew my perfect adjustable pants for the last couple of years and these check all the boxes 😍 could my search finally be over?!
Aww I hope so! These are my dream pants, something I can wear all day in comfort. I’m exploring other ideas for adjustable waists in pants too so I’m sure you’ll see more from me. Thanks for watching
I love this design I've been looking for something like this for the longest time -- recently purchased your pattern and I can NOT wait to make these! Hope you make more cool patterns like this!
I just discovered you through a From Carly B video! I purchased this pattern today and I can't want to make these. I have been saving some special fabric for the perfect pants and I think I have found it! I will be making my first pair with a less precious material before I cut into that special fabric! Thank you for these videos!
@@AnnTilleyHandmade I really want to modify the pattern to make a magic skirt! The magic waist of this pattern is amazing! My weight yo yos and this is the perfect way to make classic and flexible pieces!
Yes! I've seen these made in a ligher weight denim and they looked great! If the fabric has no stretch or ease and/or it has a thickness you might want to consider adding maybe an extra 1/2" to the outseam of the back panels to give you some extra room if you find you need it when you go to try them on. I wouldn't bother adding to the front panel since you would have to deal with all the pocket pieces.
I would look at Cashmerette patterns for resources on this kind of adjustment. I think they even sell pants patterns where they’ve added full bum adjustments.
Hi Ann ! Thank you for this beautiful idea. I would like to purchase the pattern, but I haven't found any photo of a plus size person wearing it. Any idea where I could see what it looks like in size 2XL or more ? Thanks !
Good point! The only visual I have is on my Instagram @anntilley.patterns there’s a reel @mahopunk made of her wearing the pants in a 2XL. Next week I’m doing my first big photoshoot where I will make sure to get some plus size pics to add to the site!
Hi Ann! I am considering buying this pattern, but what's holding me back is that I have never bought any pattern before, digital or otherwise. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding what I'm gonna receive if I buy the digital pattern, and if I'm gonna be able to make sense of it. I live far away from the US, so the digital pattern makes sense to buy! I've seen the physical pattern in use in this and other videos, but would you be able to do a short video about what the digital pattern contains and how to use it?
Thinking about buying the pattern, but only have access to print in A4, will i be able to do it? Or is it only printable in letter size for correct measurement?
Hi! Thanks for reaching out about this. The printouts have an outline on each piece and as long as they don’t get cut off during printing, you will be fine. I opened it on my computer and set it to A4 at 100% scale at it looks like it’ll print fine! If you have any problems tho, just send me an email and we can figure it out.
@@AnnTilleyHandmade thanks, it worked fine :) Just two more questions. You are speaking about seem allowance, should that be added to the cut pieces, or is 1/2 inch already in the pattern? And, do you have the measurements of the d ring one with the hole in it that you have in the video?
Great! Thanks for letting me know that it worked. 1/2” seam allowance is included on the pattern. The inseam is a little short so you might want to add to the bottom of the legs if you need it. The D-ring I am using is 1 3/4” (which I think refers to the opening left to right but you can also you a 1 1/2” one (those are more common to find in stores at least in the US).

Hopefully by the end of this month! I had a issue with my mic so I have to voiceover part of it 🙄 still learning a lot about making videos
@@AnnTilleyHandmade I can only imagine - hope it doesn't give you too much more trouble! I'll keep an eye out for it - thank you again!!
I just got my pattern and notions in the mail and I'm so excited to get started!! Thank you for this awesome video!
Yay! I hope you enjoy sewing them!!
Lovely video, can't wait for the rest (and can't wait to sew my own pair)!
I'm so excited to make these! I know the pattern recommends a light-weight woven, but do you think a lighter weight denim could work? Thanks!

@AnnTilleyHandmade Awesome, thank you so much!
I bought this pattern and love the instructions. I am super stoked to make them.
Aw yay! Glad to hear it!
I need to make these yesterday!! Amazing 😍
These look like perfect summer pants! Do these work for men, too, or would they look funny?
I think these would look great on a guy! I have one picture on my website with a man wearing them. I guess it all depends on the man!
I need a custom full bottom adjustment that I can apply to any pants pattern. What videos or resources can you recommend?

Please where can I get the Manila pattern matetial
I get it from GoldStarTool.com. It’s not as expensive as oak tag paper, I actually prefer it over oak tag. It’s a little thinner

Tula Pink scissors?
They do look like those! These are from a brand LDH out of Canada. Got them from my LFS.
Sadness, I went to get your pattern and it's sold out. 😢
I’m getting new ones folded as we speak! Should be back up on the website by next week!!
Only sound, no video?
Try watching it now… I’m getting sound and video. Had to delete and reload when I realized I had only exported a lo-res video 🙄
