Grew up in Conroe, moved to Beaumont, then Houston, then Pearland, and now finally settling back in Conroe (Artavia). All of your points are very true, especially the trees! The air is much nicer in Conroe than anywhere else around Houston.

I’m born and raised in Conroe and have had no issues with safety. I don’t keep up with the crime statistics but my personal experience has been great here. I feel very comfortable in Conroe with my family.

1. If I live in Conroe and work in Houston. How long will the commute be with traffic?
2. What is the average prop tax in master plan communities and not in plan communities?
3. Between Katy and Conroe which one is more affordable to buy home and cost living?
1. Probably 40-55 mins depending on where you live 2. 2.5% - 3.5% depending on the neighborhood. Master planned neighborhoods are usually higher taxes, but it varies in diff parts of the city. 3. Cost of living is the same, housing affordability for the same home may vary $30K, but very similar
Silly question, are mosquitos really bad in that area comparatively? We're thinking of moving to Conroe from Katy and the nature and being close to the Woolands and Lake Conroe, we love that!

Good points!
Conroe was okay until people started rushing here. Now traffic is fn terrible and all our woods are cut down for houses. Taxes are awful here.

Are there places in Conroe that doesn’t flood when hurricanes hit the region?
Plenty, we have accurate flood maps and sell homes in areas that do not flood! Most of Conroe doesn’t flood, and it’s easy to avoid flood areas when purchasing

If you live in Conroe can your child attend the Woodlands? Or the school you attend is based on residency?
Schools are based on zoning maps according to your address. The only exceptions I have heard of are teachers kids or if you own a rental property in that district.
The wife and I currently live in Pflugerville Tx, just north of Austin. It’s getting overcrowded and very expensive. This video captured my interest for possibly relocating to Conroe. I just have some questions. You mentioned that it feels like a small town vibe and community. Does that mean the crime rate is fairly low? Also I’m aware that Houston is well known for notorious flooding. Is Conroe like that too?? One last thing. My wife is a country girl at heart, I’m sure she would love it there. Greetings I use to live there were u live and close to Austin I live in conroe and love it here very country and beautiful here and the flooding is no where near how it is in houston I have lived here almost 2 years an haven't notice no major flooding to be honest and the part of conroe the woodlands I just love
I forgot to mention to u there are things I miss about Austin and the woodlands reminds me of that but on a smaller scale I feel
Is it a good area for single young professionals?
I think so, it’s growing a ton and there are plenty of opportunities to get connected with young singles in the area
I'd be sold on Houston and the surrounding areas if they create at least TWO new MAJOR amusement parks....sad Houston let Six Flags demolished Astroworld.

I disagree on diversity. Conroe does have income diversity but not so much ethnic diversity. That’s probably the only thing I prefer of the western suburbs vs northern suburbs

No, not at all. I moved from Louisiana particularly for that reason.
