I inherited a j3 2016 from my Mum, to have as my spare phone if anything was to happen to my main mobile phone. She'd given up on it because of time to charge. I couldn't believe how long it took, once I had it. I assumed she'd exaggerated. It's charge time was ridiculously long. 5 hours to fill from 45%!!!! Thank you for the tips! I got an S4 Active and it charge slow as hell. I was wondering if it the battery issue. I seen other video on you tube here and all they discuss was to clean dirt, dust, etc in the charging port. As I know, my phone is clean but still slow charge. I have tried my other family member Samsung charger and same story. I follow your step and reboot phone today so hopefully it improve the charging capability from now on. Man, I had an old Samsung Prime Core and that baby charges fast so figure had to be the system.

Yep. Did for me. Was temperamental. Would charge with some cords but wont with others. Works with all my cords now and fast charge works again.

Thanks a lot, this still works. Takes about 2 hours for a full charge on J7 Prime after doing this. Before that, it was about 5 hours.

Only thing is that the menu first froze for 5 minutes but then reset and it actually worked cuz in 56 minutes it charged only 7 percent and now it is soooooooo fast. Good informative video

It did work for my A7 2018 which after one ui got a very bad charging.
It took me four and half hrs. To charge it but now it fills up in around 2 hrs.
Galaxy J5. Since the latest update and, even after hibernating loads of battery draining apps, my phone was taking all night to recharge then running down in about 4 - 5 hours. I found this video and watched it a couple of times. It looks daunting but Hey Presto! My phone completed its charge in less than an hour and now seems to be holding its charge for much much longer. Thank you :-)

I'm very thank you so much it really really works mine samsung s5 it's starting to charge faster after ur video instructions...
My base plug was shot. So every time I charged from it it caused the phone to stay in slow charge mode. I downloaded Ampere, and my phone was reaching 290 ma. So after fiddling with it for hours. I had it unplugged for a while and plugged it into my other oem base that I knew was in good shape with a good cord. Then it worked, so I plugged it back into the old one and it locked me out back in slow mode. So doing the power button and cache reset on the good cord and base made it charge at 880 870 ma now. So I am assuming samsung has a system on the phones that if it doesn't charge right it will stay in slow mode to protect itself till you unplug it for a while and migrate to a different charger or something. Probably so the battery does not explode. I was using my droid maxx charger for a while because it was faster charging. But I slammed the bed into it and it was not happy about that. RIP Droid maxx dual usb charger.... You will be missed.

S6 Edge Plus acts like the charger is loose because it keeps beeping and the charging turns on and off but that is not the problem and I'm not sure what is sometimes it even does it after it's unplugged like the charger is in it and wiggling! What's the problem

hey I have been having issues with my phone for a few days where it is it is charging really slow. it used to only take like an hour to fully charged now it is taking a whole lot longer than an hour! yesterday I got me a new USB and charger. didn't make a difference. later I reset my factory data. still charging a whole lot slower than it used to. any idea what in the world could be going on?:-(

you are correct on using a junk cable to charge cell phone. i was using a flashlight cable to charge cell and it just took forever to charge a little bit. you must use a factory good cable to charge it. it use to charge charge up like in no time was so fast from 40 to 100 % like in less then one hour...
