    I have learned more about writing music watching your videos then I have in the last 6 years of messing around watching videos and reading stuff online. Please more 7 string stuff! It would be really cool to see what you put together for a 7 string metal core riffs.

    Would you say your style here and metal guitar work in general is different that what I would find in a "learn to play guitar" video? Finger position and the such.
    If I'm more interested in rock/metal I should be watching that style of tutorial videos ❓

      Rock style definitely has some different approaches than what I’m teaching. Rock uses more chords and clean tones as well as different scales. I’d say you can never have enough knowledge when it comes to guitar.

      I'm not interested in difficult chords that twist my hands and wrists but most of what you teach here is what I would like to learn, that 1 2 3, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 is more for me

    Mate, you finally got me to start mixing triplets with straight 8ths. My brain always told me it wasn't possible for me to do. It's so essential for those death metal rhythms, to make them sound "off"

      It’s a riff idea Ive been working on and I thought I’d breakdown the methodology behind it. I’ve always unconsciously done triplet rhythms but never had to explain them to anyone.

      C standard tuning, I’m using a plugin on this video. All depends what solid state but you’d definitely need a boost and eq pedal

      Solid-state amps are superior.
      It depends on the amp, a boost or E.Q. is helpful but not always necessary.

      @@vorpalblades I agree , it's dependent on what solid state amp but for my own tastes I like hitting the front with a boost or distortion and having a EQ in the loop

      The Soldano plugin has a function called doubler , I have it enabled in this video. You can try all their plugins out for free for 2 weeks. And I’m not sponsored by them , they just work perfectly for creating videos.

      I speed them up towards the end of the video. I play them slowly so people can learn how many triplets fit into a bar .
