These exercises are brutal and you play them so cleanly! In your performance videos I've been really impressed with your picking hand and now I can see why. I will give these a try. Thanks for the lesson!
@@SacraVictoria I'm actually doing it now👌, the 24 permutations are really hard, maybe because the 3 and 4 fingers share the same veins. That's why so many guitar players don't like the 1-3-4 pattern and my guitar friends even said "Flight of the Bumblebee" is impossible.😅 But your tabs made me push harder, I was now able to play half of FOTBB, I wish I can complete it soon.🤘 Hope you can do more of this exercises. I really liked them.🙂 Thanks.
Great exercises! the string skipping part is really tough especially inside picking for me , always feels awkward. Keep 'em coming, and looking forward to new music :)
What Jason richardson and James Moody also recommend was eventually explained be kiko Lourero, he says that your goal is to make sweep sound like it’s alternate picked - think about it❤
Great video! Great playing! I've wanted to do similar lessons to this, especially the format. I like how your not overdubbing the guitar tracks. I actually hate when people do that especially these days, everything seems so fake. You're the real deal, 80's style shred guitarist. Really cool exercises and tune at the beginning.
i want to do a video on mine too now some are modified or even my own, you must know the one where it's like a stair case and when it falls off one side of the fret board it comes back round to the other side of it! the pattern is 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th frets on E A D G strings then same on A D G and B and repeat but as you run out of space you start adding in the low notes again! you can reverse and invert it too.
All these cool exercises... and the intro from Ascension... wow. Subscribed. Any chance of an offcial tab (backing track too?) or, dare I say, full lesson, on Ascension? I'd like to (have the illusion I could) play it.
Thank you so much for creating and sharing this video! This is a totally new way of practicing, I am sure it will improve my playing a lot! You are legend! ❤🎸💪

Thank you very much for sharing these exercises!! I cannot play anywhere near your level, but I always though there was something wrong with my pinky moving too much, seeing yours and the awesome way you play I can safely say I´ve been making excuses to my main problem: I don´t practice enough. I´ll try to do your routine every day. Thank you!!!
That last 16th note alternate picking on the spider run is ridiculously cleanly played. Question, would you consider that to be crosspicking? Definitely one for me to work on. Thanks
When she said injury, freaking better believe it! 2 years ago, I strain the muscle of my fretting fingers when I didn’t do any stretching and chording work exercise. Did a double bend and boom! A sharp pain on my ring finger. Didn’t play for almost 1 month.
This can improve my practice/warm up routine i hope! i recently having a bad picking habits while playing sweep+alternate picking in one solo. Also accuracy kinda feels off after jumping to 1st and 2nd string. Even doing triplets on 1st and 2nd string feels uncomfortable too i dont know why its been over a month now.. 😵

It's actually really important to practice WITH distortion if your goal is to play with distortion because it requires a lot of strings muting to control the string noise that comes with distortion. if you practice on clean for a long time and switch to distortion you might find yourself playing sloppy because you didn't practice controlling the string noise while developing your technique.
