@@IchbinSeppi it's great to see, he's becoming more refined with age like the rest of us. I wish there a way to send him things. I'd send him a Frankenstrat mug just like mine. An awesome guitarist like Bernth should drink from a cup with arguably the most iconic guitar of all time.
Thank God for guides like these, you really have helped me in technique so much since beginning the academy. Ive had theory down for a long time ut my main handicap was not having a solid daily routine that fine tunes all the muscles ill need to play cleanly. I get off work at 3pm each day, and spend the next 6 hours of my day with my guitar in my lap trying to figure out how to improvise over backing tracks. Now that I finally have a SOLID workout regimen i can apply everyday, my skills have improved exponentially! Thank you for the time you put into these for us over in the academy, they have been critical to my progress :)
@@DasShoPahRo the two best tools to conquer is a metronome and an ipad for playing BERNTH material. its amazing how "freeing" using a metronome is.... almost like when you go bowling and raise the bumpers. i have to use more brain power to stay in time when i have nothing to keep me in time, so being able to lean on the metronome clicks frees up thought processing ability for me. I joined the patreon, never got my t shirt, never got approached about setting up my special practice routine, and was completely ignored and overwhelmed by the amount of content on there and no direction, just a bunch of clickbait videos. :(
Man i wish I could have routines in general. My jobs is all over some days I work early and get out on time others I work late to early lol my guitar practice along with everything is all over the place especially with kids lol I’m lucky to practice at least 15 min before bed 3-5 times a week
Hey Bernth. What would you suggest for ppl dealing with too much tension in both fretting and picking hand? I've started fighting with it recently but as soon as I get to a certain tempo I feel like my tension is getting the same. Should I slow down with most of the exercises? Maybe a video about on how to play with full relaxation in both hands. BTW great content as always!
Hey, hope all is well, with regards to tensing both hands it can help to start slow and increase speed but it is better to practice fast, short bursts. This one RUclipsr, Bradley Hall explains it better than I do (see attached link). I tried this exercise a bunch and I recently crushed my previous speed plateau! My only problem is that it’s a bit hard to tell if I’m playing well or not. Hope this helps, happy shredding 🤘 ruclips.net/video/2j67-9ITJCs/видео.htmlsi=f034p_-aIIHzXjNv
It might sound silly, but just be mindful of that happening and try to consciously relax. Another thing you can do when that happens, push the tempo even more. Try to keep up, and yes, everything will fall apart, but then when you slow it back down it will seem a little easier. Hope that helps. Cheers!
Hey Bernth I gotta ask. You talk a lot about ergonomy of playing - string action, pick shape, holding the pick etc. What about string gauge? Why you play particularly 10-46? Why not make it easyer on those solos using 9-42 or hybrid 9-46?
i'm 58 about to turn 59 i'm practicing vocals and guitar every day i dont have time to waste i've wasted a lot of time not trying to best at both i work at both everyday what practice can i use to get crazy good in 1 year
I have a question about your Patreon academy. Do you have live streams at all or email access? Anyway that people can contact you 1on1 about different obstacles in their playing to get coaching? I've considered joining but I saw nothing about any kind of coaching (not saying it isn't there, maybe I just missed it). That's the only thing stopping me from joining the Patreon right this moment.
@JohnReneEliaGallaza-fj9lg so you have to have a FB account then... Yeah... That's gonna be a hard no for me. I deleted that bs years ago and have no inclination at all to go back... I very much appreciate you letting me know though. If there are any other details about it you can think of that might make having a secret FB only for that let me know. If it's worth it I may consider it. Depending on day, time, what's involved etc.
@@MainPrism Sure, that's understandable. In all honesty the Patreon wasn't what I expected. It's a bit messy, and the patreon exclusive stuff are a bunch of 30 day courses (which nevertheless still seem to be quite well made and structured) and gp tabs to accompany his videos. Is it worth it for the money? I guess that depends on what type of subscription you choose, but regardless of what exactly is in the patreon I do think this guy deserves support because of his overall content.
@@JohnReneEliaGallaza-fj9lg cool enough. Thanks for taking time out of your day to help me out. Much appreciated brother man. I agree Bernth deserves every ounce of support and respect he gets and then some. He really is a modern day virtuoso.
If they are songs you need to get locked in for a show or a studio session, then they should be your priority absolutely. If they are just songs you’re learning for fun, then they should be worked on after your proper practice routine.

It's just a link to your Patreon, but where on Patreon I can find the actual alternate picking masterclass ?
You legit Freemium guys are the fucking coolest. I'd sub to you all, had I the cash. GL. Happy Friday. ty.
Actually, once I wear out Guitarmalade, you may be next. Great channel.
I am not your student . But I want that giveaway elerguitar. I am from Philippines..
I joined your Patreon about a year ago. My playing has improved more in this last year than the previous 5! No joke..Thank you, Bernth 🤟
Bernth stopped with the redbull and started coffee

I'm sure that coffee was for breakfast, and he'll have redbull for lunch. Healthy lifestyle

i'm of course starting here doing this now
My cousin taught me to practice parts of that I don't know too well, songs 7x.
Im acoustic player so how can i improve picking any tips😢
Might be silly question- can this be done on acoustic? 😅
Definitely can. Might be a little tougher than on an electric though
@ Thanks! I’m looking for a acoustic 30m everyday exercise. There are so many! I just need to sit down and create my own😅

And what about song practices
What I will do is, first stick to the practice routine, then practice songs for as long as I have time.
If they are songs you need to get locked in for a show or a studio session, then they should be your priority absolutely.
If they are just songs you’re learning for fun, then they should be worked on after your proper practice routine.
Jokes on you. I dont brush my teeth
Idiot
Chuck schuldiner didn't have a music theory and he's a very very good gutairist
So, if one is not yet a very good guitarist, one should not bother with music theory?
