I love when you share some examples and work through them with us. I am also loving how you added the download of the cases because it really does make it that much easier to follow along! Thank you for making this content!
Please do more of these. I finished school and plan on taking my CPC exam soon, and these have helped enhance my critical thinking. Your videos have helped so much. Especially considering I did on line school and it is just not the same as in the classroom.
This is a year ago, but I really like these. I love going through the case and breaking it down, it helps me a lot, even though I've been coding for a bit.
YES! YES! YES! More like this. I am a beginner student in CPT Coding. I love it so far, we have a great instructor. I am getting my certificate at my local community college MCC (Mchenry County College) and just need a little extra sometimes and my favorite way for someone to explain things to me is with EXAMPLES!! Love your content, you are helping me tremendously! We are currently working on Chapter 6 E&M in our CPT 2024 edition , just finished up Path and Labs. So this is perfect! Keep'em coming! 🤓🤓🤓🤓❤❤
Yes!! Thank you for this! I have been coding for almost 1 year. I had just got the complete hang of 97 guidelines then BAM! in came 2023 guidelines busting in like the Kool-aid man! 😂 this has been helpful! I would love more videos like this! I was also wondering if you could do one on Split Shared visits for hospitalist? That has tripped me up quite a bit! Thank you for all your wonderful content! 😊
Great video, I'm considering trying to become a medical coder and I've been watching your videos. I find them extremly helpful in understanding medical coding. I just wanted to point out since I didn't see it mentioned in the comments, on the first case study in this video of the patient who fell off the ladder while painting his house, the copy that you have linked doesn't exactly match what you show in the video. The statement where it says "X-ray images personally reviewed by me" is not mentioned in the link copy. As soon as I realized it I was able to continue to follow along with the video. I agree with everyone in wanting to see more case studies, it helps to see examples of how it's done. Thanks.
I know these are older videos, but I’d love more. Especially content on coding out entire cases. I am really struggling with knowing when to code procedures, test, labs, drugs, etc separately or not. Sometimes some of that is made pretty clear in the note, but not everything, and certainly not always. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I just passed my certification exam, but multiple choice and real world are completely different animals 😅 The struggle is real with E/M for me.
I would LOVE more case studies! I am studying for my CEMC exam and this was very helpful! EM is not my strong suit but I always find it easier when someone talks me through some examples! Thank you!
I’d love to see more e/m videos. Just got my CPB cert and am working the coursework with AAPC for CPC and e/m has been the most difficult to grasp and then add modifiers to them-my brain explodes. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!
I'd love to watch more of your videos. Honestly I could really use, I'm in my first year of MCO and alot is confusing when it comes to coding. Thanks 🙏🏾
Hi Victoria, I would love to see your thoughts and examples when there is more than 1 provider seeing a patient the same day for inpatient or emergency/critical services.
More and varied case studies always appreciated. Doing Practicode now. Each case comes up with a new way to confuse me. Trying to figure out a systematic "plan of attack" but each one is so different. Thank you!
I have been cruising through my coding course, everything has been making sense. It was only once I got to the evaluation and management section that I'm just.. confused. I'm coming here to watch so maybe I can go back and read the lesson again w more context I'm so close to being done gotta learn this!! This is my last unit🎉😃
Hi! Thank you for your great videos! If you can do some more videos like these that would be great! I am a certified coder that works for pediatric ED so any case from the ED would be great!
I appreciate this video so much! I am on the E/M chapters of the CPC course through AAPC, self-studying here. E/M has so many components and layers, so any exposure to E/M I can get is incredibly helpful. I am curious to see if there are any links that you've posted on your channel as to where we might be able to print out a copy of the AMA's MDM Risk Table? Thanks so much!
Hi Victoria, Thanks to your awesome videos, I passed the CPC exam last month (by the skin of my teeth with a 70%), but I had failed the year before so I was happy to have passed. However, I am working on the Practicode through AAPC and am having a really difficult time, especially with E/M coding. Can you tell me if I need to use the 'guide' I've seen you use in a few of your videos and where I can find one? I seem to be 'guessing' or 'assuming' how much time was spent or how difficulty the visit seemed to be and am getting them wrong, usually by 1 number. I appreciate any feedback and all of your previous videos which helped me pass the test!
Love your videos!! Can you please do one with tips on how to pass the CCA State exam? My test is next week and I would love to absorb all the knowledge I can to help me be successful!
Another great video. Can you share some light. Mr Scott admitted to observation on 4/5 to 4/6. Then on 4/6 his status changed to inpatient and was discharged on 4/6. Using the new E&M guidelines what would be the correct E&M codes for 4/6? Thank you.
Victoria, could you have a lesson on coding sequencing from the coding book, where you have to extend codes from the red small box, where the code is extended. the examples come from the coding book.
Yes this is helpful and my request is to do a video on a clear clarification can we bill e&m on same day surgery performed to an inpatient visit.........please clarify
Maybe a silly question but I was wondering with the CPC and the COC I know the COC has additional things on the exam but can we still use CPC examples? Also do you know if/when you might do a training in COC? or even where I can get guidance on COC. I have been in the field but now i want to get my credential.
Yes please can you provide more e&m videos that have a lot of information to review. Can't seem to extract enough information to get accurate e&m codes
Hello!! I have a question about your last example please! If on the exam it states to specifically find the E/M code for that office visit for the marble removal, would we still go ahead and not code the e/m code and still code for 30300? Thank you so much!
When E/M coding for ED visits, will there always be wording in the documentation that lets you know if tests were used in the MDM process? Also, how do you know to, or not to, code meds that are given in the ED? Again, I am really struggling with E/M, especially when it not multiple choice.
I'm looking for that video that you did about using the glue gun to fix the ring binder..Do you still have it up and can you link it in a reply? Please & thank you!!!!
Hello! great videos I learn so much when watching you. You answered this question already but I need a little bit more. For the AMI case you coded subsequent E/M and not initial, is this due to the report stating the patient had been in the hospital for 3 days? Does the length of time in the hospital warrant the subsequent code?
victoria please give explanations with Software coding for E and M its very full to code accurate level and cpt codes and various condition for minor and major procedures and timings of visit
Hi there! As it pertains to what qualifies as prescription drug management for E&M/MDM. Would you count an order for home supplemental O2? How about “Continue Lisinopril” with I10 DX if that’s as specific as the docu gets? Thanks 😊
Yes, here is the AMA definition. Independent interpretation: The interpretation of a test for which there is a CPT code and an interpretation or report is customary. This does not apply when the physician or other qualified health care professional is reporting the service or has previously reported the service for the patient. A form of interpretation should be documented but need not conform to the usual standards of a complete report for the test.

I’m doing Practicode. Man, it’ll drain every ounce of confidence to be able to code 😂
Definitely would appreciate more of these! Currently studying for my CPMA. I have a CCS. E/M is confusing me.. there are so many moving components.
I have been cruising through my coding course, everything has been making sense. It was only once I got to the evaluation and management section that I'm just.. confused. I'm coming here to watch so maybe I can go back and read the lesson again w more context

Question though, how did you determine that the fracture was a straightforward fracture?
Hi there! As it pertains to what qualifies as prescription drug management for E&M/MDM. Would you count an order for home supplemental O2? How about “Continue Lisinopril” with I10 DX if that’s as specific as the docu gets? Thanks 😊
If a patient comes to doctor’s office OR ER and then gets admitted , do we have to code 2 codes? Or only inpatient code ?
Can you a video regarding the CCA exam? Or do you just focus on the CPC?
Absolutely more cases please!
Hi Victoria, can you please explain more about the independent interpretation
Yes, here is the AMA definition.
Independent interpretation: The interpretation of a test for which there is a CPT code and an interpretation or report is customary. This does not apply when the physician or other qualified health care professional is reporting the service or has previously reported the service for the patient. Yes, would like more E/M coding.
