I passed my CPC exam!! Just barely though. I took it April 2nd and got my results April 3rd. Now I am searching for a job. Any recommendations for starting out? I’m nervous about what to expect in the real world and if company’s help navigate the EMR. I learned from my books and didn’t do any cases through an online system, just practice cases.

I feel like those illustrations could be really helpful during the CPC exam None of my books have a nicely detailed one like yours, but i also have the 2022 cpt book and ahima versions of the ICD books. I'm waiting for my new AMA verisons to come in the mail along with my 2024 CPT.
I am so nervous about my state exam, I take it Dec. 16th. I hope that the questions are this easy on the actual exam. If this is a close comparison, I should pass!
Everybody say they failed by one point. I have convinced myself it doesn't matter cuz I would be sitting in the same boat of those who failed by twenty. I have to schedule my test. Next week is my last class.

I have the cpt 2024 professional edition and the ICD-10-CM my program through the US career institute states they’d provide all the books required however I never recieved a HCPCS are those codes in either of the other books?

Anyone know if the Preppy course has actual good helpful lectures? My friend and I are absolutely BUMMED trying to do the CPC prep course through the local university only to find out their "lectures" are 5-7 minutes long, 10 years old, and leave us more confused than without it, which sucks since books aren't included, CEUs aren't included, exam attempts aren't included, and we receive little to no help from the instructor. We finally got to the coding part of the class with using the guidelines and we are so confused

It started off well, and I had a good flow going, until I reached the cases. I spent far too much time on the 2 that I managed to answer, and ran out of time for the remainder of the exam. I also did many practice exams prior to taking the exam. Can you offer up any valuable tips when it comes to better managing my time and reading through some of these very long winded cases?

For long case questions, focus on skimming the documentation to pick out key details like the diagnosis, procedure, and any modifiers, then immediately refer to your coding manuals. If a question feels like it’s taking too long, mark it and move on; it’s better to answer all the quicker questions first and circle back if time allows. Practicing with a timer and focusing specifically on long cases during prep can also help you get more comfortable under exam conditions.

Hi, do you recommend reading the entire question first? Or look up the codes first? Also when do you recommend looking in index for a code than just jumping to the code it self? I hope that made sense lol. I just want to be faster at it. In my first try I didn’t get to answer like 15 questions, and I was shy by 8 points to pass. Thanks for your videos. Yes, I recommend reading the question and answers first. As for looking for the code or the index, it depends on the question.
