  • Pedestal basins are beginning to look real old fashion these days. Fitting a basin with a cupboard (vanity unit) gives you some storage under the basin and looks nicer. The video shown is the full job start to finish.
    Lots more plumbing and heating at my two websites.

    Did you have to pay extra for the doggy seat between the basin and the window -- the Mo seat, where she can sit and watch you shave or look out the window? That was very thoughtful of you! But what about Jan, where will she sit watching you doing your ablutions?

    What do you think about washing machines waste pipes Being plumbed into sink waste pipes. Is it better to have a straight out single waste from the washing machine. Great video your new sink set up looks great.

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Philip, yes it is always best to have a separate waste for the washing machine outlet if it is possible. Thanks for your kind comments about our new sink set up.

    Hi Al. Did you need any plumbers mate in the waste? Whenever I fit wastes they always leak if I only use the supplied washers!

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  5 лет назад +1

      No the rubber washers were of high quality, so all good, I do usually use it otherwise.

    • @anthony342
      @anthony342 5 лет назад

      if you can then fit the waste the day before and use clear silicone , or they leak .

    Don't you hate changing taps while to sink is still fixed in place, bloody awkward job? It's like trying to put your socks on while still wearing your shoes lol
    Oh, and if your box spanner needs an extra bit of length just pop the next size into the end of the first box spanner so it's then twice as long. Makes reaching up and under the sink a little easier.

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  5 лет назад +1

      Yes a good idea with the spanner . Hate changing taps.

    Hello, thank you so much for this helpful video! Makes me feel like I can do it myself! I do have a question though, how do I know if I have high or low pressure? Is there a way to find out? Thank you!!

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  3 года назад

      If you have a combi boiler it is high. If you have an F an E system open the cold basin tap and see if you can stop the flow with your thumb, if you can you have low pressure if you cant you have high.

    • @dereton33

    This is my next job so, once again, very timely. I don’t understand the bit about the non-return valve on the hot though (when hot is low pressure, and cold is high pressure). Why is this needed?

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  5 лет назад

      To stop mains water pushing back down the hot feed pipe and back into the cylinder.

    Hello from California! Thanks for this great video. Question...what is the problem with the water supply lines touching the support inside your cabinet? I want to do this project but not sure I can do copper repiping that you did.

    • @dereton33
      @dereton33  4 года назад

      You can always fix the pipes to the wooden cabinet to stop vibration. Use flexi pipes to connect the taps.
