As some one who has some experience with large tanks like this, I would suggest that you double check your floors before you fill it up. Typically floors aren’t capable of holding that much weight in one spot so you may want to find a place on a concrete slab or reinforce the floors before setting all this up. Just my two cents.
It's so nice to see a RUclipsr actually do research enough to know about the Nitrogen cycle. Props to you man!
Don't put that tank upstairs or it might end up in the basement lol
Scott C haha
It's sooo good to see someone who is actually doing their research so thank you for being dedicated to this hobby
I got a 50 gallon aquarium with accessories for free once from Craigslist a few years back. I need to get another one someday!
Panfish i got a 125 for free
PlaneButcher Nice!
Panfish
Panfish I have a 60 gallon tank and I was wondering if it was over stocked could you check if it is on my channel cause I don't wanna over stock
Should be able to have 4 or 5 Fancy goldfish in that size aquarium. Subtract a goldfish if you add other fish.
S/O to BamaBass for being the first one to do this stuff and have so many RUclipsrs steal his content. I just feel like he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves for starting the whole bass and bluegill in a Tank on RUclips.
To figure out the weight of tank filled with water, water weighs 8lbs per gallon so your 220 gallon tank is 8 x 220 = 1,750lbs. to get the total weight add weight of tank a gravel if you have any in your tank. a quick way to figure out how much gravel you need if you are doing an under gravel filter system is 1lb of gravel for every gallon of water.
Hope that the support of the floor underneath is "sturdy".
Pickerel (redfin), smallies and large bluegills

Lol, only those of us in the Midwest love the fact that you and your dad were just wearing your socks moving that tank. I think it's a midwesterner thing that we walk outside in just socks!!
He is definitely putting a blue whale in there
1. Don't smack the heater like that, haha 2. You don't need to "cycle" the fishtank, all you need is to add bacteria from a used filter - then you're good to go (when we in the shops set up new tanks, we just wringe the filter from the already cycled neighbor tank in the new one - once the tanks water is clear, we add fish)
he will put smallmouth like if u agree
colby lancaster 👍🏽
Yeah
I was just gonna comment that lol
ikr it would be cool @Josh Morrison
Putting smallmouth in a tank is a terrible idea. Ever wonder why bass pro has every fish but small mouth. There is a reason
I've already mentioned this, but try a bubbler in the new tank, instead of the Spray bar. You can get a sponge filter that will help filter the water as well as aerate. You will thank me when that spray bar noise is gone its way more peaceful. Nice tank btw
It's gonna be one of the smallmouth out of the river with Mr. RedMono
MAKE SURE THE TANK IS LEVEL. 100% most important thing with a tank that size. shim the stand and/or put a sheet of foam between the tank and stand. I used to install tanks for work and I've seen a lot of damage done by aquariums. (especially used aquariums)
You should get some manzanita wood for the tank, even though all of the wood is expensive it's a wood with a lot of character and takes very little time to soak. Just make sure to take your time and it should come out good.
Not sure if you’ve done it or not but, make sure all the silicone is in good condition. Fill it with water and let it sit for at least 24hours to make sure it holds water since it is a used tank!!! Last thing you want is to have a 220 gallon tank blowout on you!
Silver arowana?
Absolutely LOVING THE TANK VIDEOS. CANT WAIIIT 😃😃
A smallie
Nice size tank. I have a 180 gallon that was originally 240 with a broken end and had it cut down to a 180, which I picked up at a closing pet shop for very cheap some years back. I keep mainly cichlids.
Smallmouth for sure
General Killshot I Really think its a smallmouth
Also Chris if you want a sand substrate look into pool filter sand. Looks super realistic and not as expensive. Look into it!
Can we fit a peric in that. 👃
Gunslinger 301 no way to small for that nose👃🏻
Don't spoil the surprise...

i thought you said perch and was wondering why it got so many likes until i scrolled down lol
If you take some media from the tanks filter that you already have set up and add it to the new tank it will make the cycle for your new tank much quicker.
Is it a gar?
Shoulda ran a small cord through the eyelets under the roof rack lol.... that's one of the hundreds of uses for the eyelets! Cheers man! I can't wait to see your tank grow!
Smallmouth Bass!
Use the extra filter from the 55 gallon on the 220 to help it cycle faster. It will add the beneficial bacteria quicker than just letting the same tap water with some conditioner cycle.
Smallmouth or a muskie/pike
Chris if you're ever gonna make it on Dancing with the Stars you are going to have to start Dubstepping in these videos....
Since Bamabass names his Sheriff you should name your big one Marshal.
Finally somone who actually got a good size tank to fit the fishes needs
would be awesome if you went to the creek and put a smallie in there
all the others have largies. would be so cool if u grew a smallie huge
even both in the same tank
Take a piece of sponge or if you have biomedia out of your filter in your already cycled tanks....throw it in your new tank or put it in the filter... it will instantly cycle your new tanks... no need to wait to add fish if you have already cycled biomedia with beneficial bacteria...always keep Xtra biomedia in your filters so you can take a bag of it out of your already cycled tank to add to any new tanks you set up ....once you do that...wait an hour or two then test your water parameters...they will be spot on ... beautiful tank by the way....are you going to pop in a wild caught fish or buy it from your local fish store? Arowana ?
Smallmouth
You can add fish immediately to tank after filling it and getting it to temp if you use Prime to condition the water.
Put a smallmouth in the tank you'll get some good content
Your bluegill trying to eat the worm out of the water is about as smart as Peric
Smallmouth or trout
Zack Rossignol yeah
Wish trout but I think that will be too warm unless he’s got a water cooling system, trout have a 68° max temperature.
U already have an established tank in the house just take some of the dirty filter media out and put it in the new tank filter. Feed the bacteria, u only need to wait a couple of days and your good to go.
Put a big smallmouth or a walleye
Shoutout to you for learning about the nitrogen cycle & cycling the tank before putting anything in it.
Northern pike
Bro did you just say a pike can out grow a human??? 😂 and you called him retarded 😂
A pike is WAY to big for a 200gallon
+ryananderson The largest pike ever caught was 4.3 feet long while the average height of an american is 6 feet tall. although pike do grow slowly so he could keep a small/ juvenile pike in that tank.
He could keep two 2 pound bass in that thing. And yes he can keep a Pike in the tank for a few years. I know a few people that have decent muskie in tanks smaller than 300 gallons.
That tank would fit a 20"-26" pike I'd say.
Make sure you take those undergravel plates out before adding the substrate. Unless you plan on tearing the tank down every 6 months to clean underneath them. A better biological filter would be a fluidized bed filter.
Loving the vids
Chris I hope that 220 went in your basement? Also I've kept the fish your stocking and I gotta tell you, Bullheads are super cool fish to keep. They don't get huge and have really fun personalities. Congrats on the monster tank!
Nice tank
SNAKE HEAD in the big tank!
Heavy doody tarp
It's an Aquarium Stand, I would imagine that it is ok if it gets wet XD
LifeTanked a little water quickly mopped up is fine! That stand is made From a type of particle board, combine that with the unfinished edges and a small amount of water can do massive damage!
The stand for my 125 has been ruined by my brothers little rat of a dog peeing on it! I'm still waiting for the replacement that will probably never come!
Probably a smallie
Eric M ..."
Eric M.
Tristan stawart
It's not the tarp. You just didn't secure it. If it's flapping in the wind it will shred itself.
He's gonna put a Muskie in it like if u think he is too
Fishing The Northeast that tank is way too small for a musky unless it's a small one, those things get 50+ inches
yea no
Fishing The Northeast no he is not a musky is to big for that tank
Fishing The Northeast that's what I thought
He's joking lol
take some of the filtermedia from the other tank and throw some minnows in to help cycle faster
Smallie
1 Bulkhead, 1 bass, 1-2 blugills, 1 green sunfish and a crappie, perch or punpkinseed. I think that would be about right.
A Small mouth bass
LOL not the tarps fault. It needed to be secured tighter. If it can flap it will shred in 60 mph winds, that's why it has so many eyelets.
Please bass
Nice eppie Chris
Smallmouth Bass
As a fresh water fish enthusiast seeing this video, is.... cool.
Smallie!?!?!? Or maybe pike or something idk really lol
Josh Morrison srrfffff
Josh Morrison
Fish tanks must be all the rage this season
Smallmouth bass
Cling wrap over the tarp, like a whole roll.
Tell peric to make a PUBG video lol
That is so funny that I also just bought the exact same tank. The same stand. Live literally 1 town over and was doing the same thing to get it in my house. That thing is a beast to lift.
A Goliath grouper
James Rodden no it will be too small for that tank
I am jokin xD
James Rodden yep definitely a Goliath grouper😂
James Rodden it illegal to even take a Goliath grouper out of the water
Ninja Abbas it's a joke
Frenzyfishing123 buddy, hit read more...
put a crappie in the 220! they look cool and wont get as big as a bass so you wont have to worry about it out growing the tank
a school of them!
A trout
Conrad Stockinger trouts need fast flowing water
I think this is so cool as small tank owner this tank is my dream
It definitely a largy.
Isaac Roufs that would be to bandwagon
Gary from mtb crib
Hi
He deserves 2 mill subs
Walleye!!!
That would be the greatest thing ever. And smallmouth and crappies.
I thought that too
Waleye need really cold water. They probably won’t survive in a tank
That would be awesome if it was a Walleye
Flattened Squid Some Walleye live in morroco lake where Tilapia and Bass live, sorry for my bad english i'm french
under gravel filters are antiques man, get yourself a nice canister filter or two. And gravel is a nightmare, get some pool filter sand, it's like 10$ for a 50lb bag, you'll need a couple, just rinse all the sand really well before you add it to the tank. And an led light will make your tank look alot better than old school fluorescents. watching all the fishing youtubers set up aquariums is the cringiest thing I've ever seen being an aquarium hobbyist myself haha.
Guessing smallie
Gio's Fishing
Great work, I'm learning.
smallie
You should go Dovii (Rainbow Bass)...and then go fishing for them in Costa Rica
Bass
It’s not the tarp, it’s the user. You need to use bungie cords to secure the tarp in the correct way so it doesn’t flap everywhere.
Trout
TysonTJacobson Fishing trouts need fast flowing water
well since pet largemouths are getting played out. smallmouth for sure. put some current makers on one end and a gravel bottom with some large stones to mimic a slow flowing creek would be dope.
A trout would jump, hit the glass lid, injure or kill itself. Quit quessing that people.
PlaneButcher incorrect arowana can jump up to 6 feet and people keep them with glass lids and they do fine, ad long as the water level is filled it will be fine
trout need very special tanks with pristine water to keep them alive and happy in captivity.
they need a big long tank with large pond pumps to create flow with a chiller.1 he doesn't have the right kind of tank and 2 chillers cost a lot of money.
Trout do awful in aquariums, as for the Arowana statement, King of DIY actually had his jump and injure itself on the lid, and eventually killing the fish.
PlaneButcher Pwosososos
tanginamo
MUSKY!!!!!!!!!
Is that aqua clear 110 your only filter if so you might want something a little larger there are a lot of really good canister filters for good prices also.
Yeah hopefully the tank doesn't get wet 😂😂😂
Frank Ambrose IV it was the stand he was worried about..
Kimmy Rask he said it when the tank was on the deck ha
Hopefully all the silicone seals are fine after placing it in its final spot
Clown knife fish and peacock bass would be dope in there
You deserve to win Ricegum's clickbait contest.
B.O.A Yang He didn’t clickbait though...
B.O.A Yang that's not even clickbait
Wtf is ricegum 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think either a pickroll or small musky
A musky or a sturgeon
Hey nice vid have a good day Chris ✌️
Musky?!
No
West Michigan Fishing that's waaaaay to big for that tank
What about a baby musky?
You bought that tarp brand new for the trip looks like it’s already weathered and worn
blue cat
ab bassin they can grow up to at least 190 lbs I highly doubt that he would even put one in there, (coming from a fisherman that has a long history of keeping fish)
ab bassin vmv. Mb
Michael._ Saad cb.nnnn
Is that a 4ft 220 gallon glass tank . I have one like that filled with Oscars, a redtail catfish, malawi's and pleckos. Can't wait to see what u put in ur tank
A bullhead catfish
Johnathon Archer rip other fish
Johnathon Archer bull head cats are actually good aquarium fish. Just make sure he is same size as other fish
That would be boring
i have 11 bullhead in my tank there my favorite fish to watch
Eddie Ragan Agreed, most fun to watch for sure!
A perch or smallmouth possibly? It's small for a pike, let alone a musky
