I hate being a "hater" but yeah. We ought to chip in a get this guy a battery operated air pump. Not that he really needs it for a 1/2 hour trip.

I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.
Yeah Chris you need to buy an airrator pump to blow air into a tube that hooks up to the air stones

Zaza Zaza I think it's really hard to keep smallmouth in a tank. I think small mouth need a lot of space.
get an 8ft tank with a gravel bottom and a few power heads for current and it could work
GroundZ28ero no they need a lot of gallonage. I remember I wanted to get a pet crawfish and one requires like 5 gallons of water each. So a decent small mouth that's legal to keep would probably need around 20-30 gallons.
And they had to be 15 inches to keep

That was fun to watch. I really enjoy your videos. I had a pumpkin-seed and bluegill in the same fish tank and the pumpkin-seed was very territorial. He would dart after the bluegill any time it got close...eventually the bluegill was so scarred up I had to remove him!

I have two black crappie in a 50 gallon tank. I would say that they are great starter fish for a wild fish tank. They can go weeks without food and aren't picky about water conditions.

Walmart has battery powered air pumps for your minnow bucket. The stones need to be connected to a air pump. The large mouth pan fish looked like warmouth.

the dark ones. the first one you caught off the concrete was a warmouth bass they hang out in holes in rocks etc. they are very aggressive eaters.they will eat almost anything that moves. they have awesome coloring. and stay a good tank size.

The panfish with the blue on its gills is a green hybrid sunfish and the panfish with the red dot on the very back of the gill plate is a pumpkin seed

Hello Chris the fish you were catching were Green Sunfish and Green Sunfish x Bluegill hybrids, as well as you know the regular bluegills. Most sunfish species regularly hybrodize with one another. Idk about Illinois but here in Michigan you can apply for a scientific collector's permit which would allow an individual to catch and keep a what would other wise be undersized fish.

The green sunfish are warmouth because when a bass and blue gill mix it makes a warmouth.

At 13:40 that is hybrid sunfish. The others are green sunfish and bluegill. Hybrids of bluegill and green sunfish are very common.

A lot of the sunfish you were catching were hybrid greensunfish/ bluegill or pumpkinseed hybrids
In order to make a bubble stone for AirStone work, you need an air pump. They sell battery powered portable air pumps called baby bubbles for $5 in the fishing section of Walmart

Chris here you go! There were a bunch of people arguing this summer over what they were catching so I put together a chart for everyone to reference! Most of those looked like green sunfish but this chart will help you next time to identify on the spot! I haven't watched full video yet but my plug in aerator came froze petco. My battery one came from Walmart .... use both of them at least once a month. Sometimes 2-4 times a month. Depends on if I'm bringing live bait. But if you use live bait and don't have a system/systems for air your missing out! Bait is so much better when it's lively!

If you want a cheap reliable aerator frabil sells them at Walmart, my friend bought one for 7 bucks and it's awesome it clips right on to the side of the bait bucket

If you want a nice smallmouth at a tiny size with no regulations and you have ur Wisconsin licence (ik you do) try the "urban fishing waters" in Milwaukee, no size limits on game fish and if you do the Milwaukee river at the right spots you will catch some big ones and have some fun while you are getting your little buddy. I could even properly pack it for you for the ride back to illinois
Put a spotted bass in the tank, they have no size limit
