- Microfishing some freshwater natives for my fish tank. Fishing the Waccamaw River and coming across some unique finds for this South Carolina creek.
Follow my lifelisting instagram to talk with me and/or see all of the species of fish I have caught: GrandStrandAngler
the small hook reminds me of extreme philly fishing
yup, I took inspiration from him about 7 years ago and got into micro-fishing.
Nice video! Keep it up; its good for your soul! I started micro fishing a couple years ago. It is so relaxing, and really gets you away from life's issues.
awesome video!
Thank you! I appreciate it.
Enneacanthus like the Bluespotted are so cool. Heck of a job!
Appreciate ya and I agree. I still want to get an Obesus that isn't hybridized
nice
Looks fun you did a good job 👍
thank you! I appreciate it.
Nicely done, keep it up.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate it! Next few videos will be saltwater microfishing. Lots of unique marine fishes I want to catch.
Nice bro... Salam from micro fishing indonesia
Thanks broski. Is it mostly carp species in indonesia?
Great Job Sir
appreciate ya, Boss.
Love micro fishing my best is one and a half bluegill on piece o plastic worm
I think you must find a more tiny hook...hook size 0,1...sode hook,akitakitsune hook...try it...
Hi there! Maybe set your camera up closer to the water so you don’t have to carry fish over dry ground? Also please wet your hands before handling fish! Fun video!!
Thank you, but all of the fish in this video are not fragile species and are completely fine even if they fall on dry ground/held with dry hands. Additionally, if we REALLY cared about every single fish, we wouldnt be putting hooks through their heads to begin with :)
Have a nice day.
@@grandstrandangler8129 Simple, polite suggestions to reduce your impact, but you can ignore the advice if your pride won’t allow it. Just because you don’t care doesn’t mean you couldn’t be better 🤷🏻. Have a nice day.
@@your_favorite_chode_merchant Sure man.
You should try a minnow trap as well
I use minnow traps occasionally in saltwater for mummichogs. But, for my lifelisting I only use hook and line to catch new fish species.
Mantap .ikanya cantik cantik...
Terima kasih banyak!
Were do you get the container?
First sunfish could have been a spotted sunfish, not sure if they live wherever u are
Possibly, but I'm pretty positive it was a Bluegill. Spotted Sunnies don't have those vertical bars, they're more oblong and fatter, and those little black spots were most likely parasites. Never 100% sure with the small ones though. Especially because the spotted's can hybridize. Thanks for watchin!
Eastern mosquito fish looks like a guppy
Mitchell’s trout reel you using ? An where would I find those small hooks at my man I love micro fishing for anything while fishing.
The name of the reel is slipping my mind currently. I'll check when I get home. There's a few places you can get the hooks but Tenkarabum.com is where I get mine. Lots of japanese-style fishing equipment there. I get the size #30 snelled tanago hooks and the size #22 loose. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
Also, the reel is a Penn Battle II 1000 size
@@grandstrandangler8129 love it man keep doin you brother small or big the content is there an thanks for the website definitely checking that out
Don't let it go on your hand it's hard to take out
I just got my tinys hook it stick to my hand it's hard to put it out
yup, really small hooks hurt just as much as bigger ones when pulling them out.
How do you identify them? I feel like I wouldn’t know what to look up 😅
Freshwater Fishes of South Carolina book. It has an identification key, but after a while you'll remember the distinctions between common species in your area.
What size is the hook? Ill do anything to get noticed
#30 tanago hooks 👍🏻
For God's sake, keep a little container of water with you so you don't have to carry that poor fish in the air like that. That's really cool.
If you're that worried about the well-being of a fish, it'd be best to not fish at all. Nothing hurting them worse than the hook in their mouth.
Where do you get that hook?
I get mine off of tenkarabum.com
What did you use for the bait?
Walmart-bought nightcrawlers. I use small scissors to cut the worms to size. Trying to pinch off small enough pieces just makes you frustrated and messy.
For more durable bait, I cut a very tiny piece off of 1” Berkeley gulp minnows to catch shiners and minnows. The bright color makes it easier to sight fish.
@@jimmymac4559 I have done the same in dire circumstances while ocean fishing. Works well
What kind of fish is it?
Golden Topminnow, Eastern Mosquitofish, Bluegill, Bluespotted Sunfish (female), Largemouth Bass, and Pumpkinseed. Thanks for watching!
where do you get size 30 hooks at? i cant find them :/
tenkarabum.com --- thanks for watching!
Look on E..Bay
what are you fishing with
In this video, I am using a #30 snelled tanago hook with super small pieces of nightcrawler worms as bait. It's best to have a small pair of scissors to cut the worms because its difficult to pinch off small enough pieces with your fingers.
What is the size of the hooks?
#30 tanago hooks.
Thanks
You don’t need bait that small that’s the best part the fish will just go for hook
sometimes, yes. Spending $6 for worms isn't a big deal for me though. It helps alot being able to start a little feeding frenzy before trying to catch them. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it.
@@grandstrandangler8129bare hook catches are funny
hi what bait did u use thx
in this video, I used nightcrawlers but make sure to bring a small pair of scissors if you're using these size 30 hooks. Almost impossible to break off a piece of worm small enough to use with only your fingers.
@@grandstrandangler8129 thanks man tight lines🎣🤙
I need micro hooks please help
I get mine from tenkarabum.com
Bro said “I know nothing” then says three words I’ve never heard in my life
Glass half-empty kinda mentality in that regard 😂😂. Thanks for watching!
This is good. Clean up your language and I will watch more with my daughter.
I appreciate it, but I post for fun and to express myself. Lots of family friendly creators out there for you to watch though! I just think it'd be alot less enjoyable for me if I wasn't being my genuine self.
@@grandstrandangler8129 Yup. I get it.
Go watch coco melon or something then
@@Aouf1 I think I'll watch whatever I please, but thanks for your interest in me!
