I still like the look of the Pumpkinseeds, but that hybrid Bluegill was interesting. Thanks for bringing us along on this trip, and wishing you an exceptional recovery that eliminates the recurring pain!
I just came across your channel. I love how you describe the details of each species. It's very informative and enjoyable to watch. Nice job! Hope you get well soon.
Its been forever since I've caught a Northern sunfish, its been so long in fact that I thought they were Pumpkinseeds haha. Learn something new every day.
I recently bought some bantam sunfish for my biotope native aquarium. I noticed 1 has a few black specks on his body, wasn't sure what exactly it was or if it was harmful. Once I saw the Iowa darter at 4:23 I knew that's exactly what is on my fish! Thanks koaw! 👍🏻 now I know what to treat for 🙂
Great video man.👍love the descriptions of all the fish. Love the music in between too. How do you get those clear pictures on the fish and get them to sit still? Thanks😎
Ah thanks much! For the clear pictures I use my mini-glass tanks and try to get most shots with my DSLR. Glass just offers such clear photos. I made a video on how to make these tanks ruclips.net/video/zJT9SD8tk_0/видео.html . As for getting 'em to sit still: If the tank is small enough they won't move around too much. Otherwise, it's about snapping a whole bunch of photos and just nabbing a good one out of the lot.
Howdy!! I watched your Green Sunfish video!!! Great stuff!!!! If you ever come to southeast IOWA we can catch those guys in the double digits in about 10 min!!!! Ive got a couple of Sweet Spots Id love to share with ya
Hey Sarah! Usually the bass don't spawn in the small creeks/streams. Typically the adult bass spawn in a bigger water source (lake, pond, river). That little bass probably just came upstream from the nearby lake.
Excuse me ‼️did you say you're a biologist ❓ and you're holding those little fish with dry hands ❓❓❓ you can't be serious 😡and you're teaching people this ❓❓❓... You just blew it with me 👎👎👎😡...SHAME..SHAME..SHAME😡👎👎👎‼️‼️‼️
Surgery went well last week! Should be up-and-moving in a few weeks. Thanks for the support and good luck out there!

Thank you very much! Glad you took the time to watch this one. And yeah, pumpkinseeds are definitely pretty.

Glad you enjoy the details on the species. It's something I always try to add in. I appreciate your nice words!
Excellent video. Really enjoyed the closeups of the fish and the ID markers.
Appreciate that! I've subbed to your channel so I'll be readily able to get some Florida fishing tips when I get down there...eventually.
The dedication is amazing
Thanks much, Andreas!
Sorry about your injury. Get better soon.
Thanks much! Back is doing better these days.
Man sorry to hear about the injury. I was starting to wonder why I hadn't seen any videos lately. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Appreciate that David. Hope to be back out getting good footage for the Spring and Summer.
Very cool! Love the ID graphics. Thanks for all the good work. Sorry to hear about the surgery. Good luck with it.
I appreciate that. And I just checked out a video on your channel. Great stuff. Love the science-backed presentation. I'll be watching more for sure.

Yeah, those northern's can look so similar to pumpkinseeds that the IDs are tricky.
Hope you heal well…I like your detailed fish descriptions, well done.
Thanks Peter. I'm actually a few months post-op and doing great. Appreciate your kind words.

@@KNFishingSmarts I will definitely check out your video. I currently use a plastic photo tank and take pictures with my iPhone. Thanks!

Appreciate the invite Deion. I'll keep it in mind if I get to Iowa. Cheers!
Ouch!! I've slipped my lower disc quite a few times already and yeah i sucks! BUt it didn't stop me from fishing either! :)
Ha, indeed it does! But yeah, fishing still remains a priority!
Dude awesome videos.
Thanks much, Trevor! Glad you enjoy the KNFS content.
Do you have a link to the lead-free split shot you use? I looked on your gear page and I couldn’t find it. Thanks!
If you just Google "Loon Outdoors Camo Drops" that'll bring up that lead-free ones I love using these days. They're a bit pricey, but worth it.
The very first big mouth bass you caught was so tiny! Do they spawn upstream and then move out into lakes when they’re big enough to hold their own?

@@KNFishingSmarts Thanks! Amazing to think that such tiny beings would be such wanderers.
Weirdo went camping near Holland ,don't live there anymore thank god people were horrendous
?
I am very sorry about your back.. I've had a back operation... so I know what you're dealing with
Northern Longears are definitely in that river.
