I love mezcal and hadn't thought of that and when I saw the title card my heart skipped a bit and as I imagined how it could taste like I immediately felt his giddiness too as my cheeks turned red in anticipation of the heat of mezcal going through my chest. I'm pretty sure this will be my next favorite drink
while I bet it's really good, it makes me sad to point out that that is the only drink that is not actually a cocktail here. A cocktail is defined as a drink that has more than one ingredient..in the drink itself. His is a mezcal, on the rocks, with training wheels, basically. Nothing wrong with that and I'm sure it's delicious...but a cocktail, it is not.

I will be honest it took me a bit to warm up to Sohla cause I mainly just came for Carla, Brad, and Claire, but I really like her. She's funny and relatable! lol I loved her peering back when Carla was done with her drink scoping out the situation.

It's a very well made old fashioned, almost spot on for the traditional recipe. The only tiny thing I would say is that a tiny splash of water or club soda, put in right after muddling the sugar, and stirred with the muddler to help dissolve the sugar before adding the whiskey. It really helps the texture and flavor. Simple syrup can also be used.
I can only assume Claire isn't here because of her devotion and undying love of Budweiser. I take no other excuses as to why a midwestern such as her wasn't in this video.

The shikanji is sooo good! I remember having the south indian version of it when I was a kid, which is a bit sweeter and flavoured with cardamom. Never thought to spike it with tequila, which works so well with the sour lime and salt flavours 💖
Priya always cracks me up with her family stories. That cocktail looked dope too with the tequila and the black pep, definitely trying it when it gets hot.

I don't necessarily think everyone was "freaking out" as much as they decided it was setting a bad example. I think it's a wise decision to show that BA is sensitive to just how dangerous this virus is right now.

Now compare her time at the company with her white coworkers. Now compare her job title. She applied for a starting position at the company, negotiated her salary, and took the job. If she''s unhappy with her salary after less than a year at the company, she has only herself to blame.
@@fakecubed But the fact that she has 15 years of experience more than her co-workers and getting less money doesn't make sense. She is not compensated like her other white co-workers for video appearences, and POC in BA are paid less than white workers there. Her white co-workers are supporting her message. There is definitely systematic racism at play here.

If she doesn’t know how to negotiate better, or apply for the job she wants, that’s her fault. By the way, she’s paid more than most people with her job title in NYC, too.
