I had the same issue as a kid though to be fair 😂. Though it didn’t take long to realise people where talking exclusively about the top half of the object.

She's right though, whether or not something turns "right" or "left" depends on your orientation to it. And the bottom of the circle is going in the opposite direction. So if the thing you have to turn isn't presented to you like a doorknob, it can be hard to tell what to do with it. And then there are things that go together the other way.
Please pay your staff equally. This shouldn’t have to be a request.

pots and pans #1 I believe Sohla has only been at BA for about 10 months. #2 It took so much courage for her to come out with it now and she could have lost her job if she did it at the wrong moment. She did it in the wake of a racial/cultural revolution in the country, and after BA’s editor in chief was revealed as leading discriminatory workplace practices and having a racist history. We should be praising Sohla for bringing these important issues to light and promoting racial equality.
While that is important - I would hope that people would extend this concern to all people. Frankly, the policies and attitudes that have been described at BA are pretty indicative of similar industries - that does not excuse it obviously but this is a part of US corporate culture.
