Nice to see you getting the kids into it. I grew up 60 years ago, hunting grouse on the farm with an old Marlin lever 22 with my dad. Good times. That Browning is a beauty.
CCI is usually the most consistent 22 LR ammo out there. Fine rifle you have there. Picked up a regular grade 1 a few years ago. Only fault I have with mine is the trigger.
Good to know you've had good luck with the CCI as well. The grade 2 BL-22s are super nice if you want to dish out another $200ish, but this one has made a fine shooter!
Some of my fondest memories when I was a kid was going out shooting with my dad, nice to see you doing the same with yours, they will always remember that! I was fortunate enough to buy a grade 2 BL22 a few years ago from someone who was selling off their gun collection. When I saw it I thought it would be cool to have a little brother for my 7mm BLR, and that it would be more for display than to use really. I have two ruger 10/22s I always shot but once I had this I hardly use them anymore. There's something about having to cock that lever every shot instead or just pulling the trigger repeatedly that makes it a more fun gun to shoot. Thanks for the video!
I considered buying one but went with the Henry Golden Boy instead. At 5 pounds, the BL22 is lighter than I like (should be at least 6 pounds), plus I don't like that short-throw lever. I'm sure it's well-made like most products from Browning. I've had a Browning Buckmark for decades. I do like the fact that Browning employs blued steel for the receiver and receiver cover, while Henry uses Zamc-5, a zinc alloy. The alloy holds up fine, it just doesn't look as nice. Some even call it pot metal.
I just got each of my boys a Ruger 10/22 for Christmas! I bought them a year ago on sale and have sat on them until XMas this year. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the comment. Those Grade 2's are beautiful! I agree that these little BL-22's are one of, if not the most, fun gun to shoot!
Cci makes great ammo, when I buy bulk I buy the blazer 22lr box these are made by cci they seem to group tighter than most bulk rimfire amm. Great vid
I bought the grade 2 maple stocked version of this rifle. She is a mighty fine shooter.
Those grade 2s are beautiful!
@@HuskerHunting they sure are withthe nice inlay on the silver receiver.
I have a good friend with two of the Grade 2 BL-22s with silver receiver. I keep trying to convince him that he should sell me those rifles :-)
@@HuskerHunting lol yeah keep trying he might sell you one eventually. I got mine after the rifle was discontinued (with the maple stock).

Henry makes some excellent lever guns as well. I don't personally own one, but they are nice rifles!
I use Aguilar
I haven't tried those but might give them a shot!
The BL22 is not a good training gun. The 33° throw is very stiff. The Henry is much smoother for kids. Better yet is the Ruger 10/22
