    The JURA ENA 8 is an award-winning super-automatic espresso machine with impressive user functionality and impeccable design. The ENA 8 Signature Line comes in Nordic White, Sunset Red, and Metropolitan Black panel options. The water reservoir, located on the left side of the machine, is hard to miss with its crystal clear design and diamond-shaped pattern, which pairs perfectly with the elegant design of the machine.
    The ENA 8 features a 2.8” TFT color display with 10 built-in specialty beverages to choose from, including a cortado, latte macchiato, and even more where that came from. At the touch of a button, the machine can deliver crema-rich espresso beverages with no extra effort required on your part. The ENA 8 is truly a masterpiece of a machine and we haven’t even discussed the other details yet.
    Inspired by traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, the ENA 8 blends the two worlds seamlessly, crafting beverages that taste like your local barista handmade a cappuccino just for you. But, instead of having to wait in line for seconds, the machine is ready to brew a list of beverages made from freshly ground coffee including a ristretto, espresso, espresso doppio, coffee, macchiato, latte macchiato, cappuccino, flat white, milk foam, and hot water. The most popular espresso and milk beverages that you could want are all in one machine, at the touch of a button, right in the comfort of your own kitchen or office.
    Perhaps one of our favorite aspects of the machine is that the JURA ENA 8 doesn’t take up much space at all-it’s a small machine standing at 12.7” high, 10.7” wide and 17.5” deep, so you’re not taking up tons of counter space, which we love!
    To add onto its greatness, the ENA 8 is equipped with JURA’s most innovative and notable features including P.E.P (Pulse Extraction Process) which pulses water through the puck to extract all of the flavors and aromas out of your coffee, the I.W.S (Intelligent Water System) which uses RFID technology to detect if the Clearyl Smart Water Filter is in the machine and is actively filtering out unwanted impurities, and the Aroma G3 grinder which ensures fast, quiet and even grinding using high-quality burrs. With the ENA 8, you’re getting all of the features that we know and love on JURA machines in addition to updated features that make this award-winning super-automatic a joy to work with.

    Of all the reviews I've seen so far.. you're the first to show the 'milk in a glass' option. Everyone else uses the additional glasscontainer.. so It wasn't clear to me if I could use this machine with just a pack of milk directly from the fridge (my wife and I use a different kind of milk so having a milk container is a bit useless to us).
    So in short: Thanks for this video.

      Hi Divyashri, the ENA 8 fits my needs better in a small household and I prefer its interface and design. • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 года назад +3

      Hi Jakob, I have not experienced this. The sweet spot for milk is around 140F. Some people prefer it hotter, but when you go higher it starts to burn and lose its sweetness. Sometimes pre-heating your cup and/or raising your coffee temp will help.

    AJ - Nice overview video. I have been leaning to the E8 but now aware of ENA 8 model and like the smaller dimension. Can you confirm the coffee strengths and coffee temperatures in the ENA 8 are same as the E8 when you compare regular coffee or espresso options? Thanks

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 года назад +1

      Hi Brad, temperatures should be comparable on the two machines, but dosing is a little different. The "strength" setting on the ENA8 adjusts your dose from 6g-10g, on the E8 the range is 5g-16g.

    Thanks so much for this video! Super helpful. I recently ordered the ENA 8 from Whole Latte Love and it's in transit to me now. This is my first ever super-automatic espresso machine. I'm upgrading from a Keurig. While I wait for my ENA 8 to arrive, I've been reading the user manual online (found it on Jura's website). I have a question about one of the maintenance procedures. After the section called "Cleaning the milk system" that describes the process using the milk system cleaner and container, there is a section titled, "Dismantling and rinsing the dual spout". It says that "The dual spout must be dismantled and rinsed
    daily if milk has been prepared..." It says to rinse the milk pipe, remove the milk system from the dual spout, take it apart, rinse the components, reassemble it and put it back in machine. Well, doesn't the milk system cleaning process already clean out the pipe and the milk system? Is it really necessary to then also manually rinse out the milk tube and dismantle the milk system and rinse it on a daily basis? It seems redundant to do both procedures daily. What do you advise? Maybe do the milk system cleaning process daily (assuming I use the milk system daily), but then do the "dismantling and rinsing" process every few days, or does it really need to be done daily also? Also, could you possibly do a video showing the "Dismantling and rinsing the dual spout" procedure? It would be most helpful. Thanks!

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 года назад +4

      Hi Edith, it's always best to follow manufacturer recommendations, BUT, when I had this machine in my house I certainly didn't do both daily. I would do the milk system cleaning on days I made milk drinks, and the dismantling and rinsing maybe once a week. Also note that the machine will automatically do a quick rinse of the milk system 15 minutes after making a milk drink, so that's a good backup in case you forget.
      Here's a video from JURA on cleaning the milk system: ruclips.net/video/aui9R4vShWY/видео.html
      The dismantling and rinsing is really straightforward and the pictures in the manual show it pretty well. Everything just pulls apart, no tools or anything required. This process actually takes less time than the full cleaning.

    Thanks for the review. I'm upgrading from a breville semi-automatic and don't mind the investment, but aesthetics are leaning me towards the ena8.
    I've been going back and forth with a gaggia line. Its hard for me to understand the nuances beyond the features (You're tasting the beverages and interacting with both products) Are you confident enough with the ena8 to recommend it over a gaggia (super easy milk cleaning) and 30% less the price? Furthermore-- with this intense milk cleaning ritual, does the milk have a noticeable quality difference over a comparable gaggia machine?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 года назад

      Hi Craig, first question is why are you moving on from your current machine? Both the Juras and Gaggias, being super-automatic, will be very different experiences from your current one. Less control over variables and tweaking to espresso taste and milk steaming. The trade-off is convenience - less time and waste dialing in coffee. Easy, repeatable results. If that's what you're going for, totally cool and here's my opinion:
      Taste of espresso will be comparable between Jura and Gaggia. Maybe a very slight edge to Jura due to their P.E.P. brewing which pulses water through the puck to bring out more flavors. Otherwise, you're paying for features, programmability, and ease of use. Juras tend to be easier to maintain since you don't need to remove and clean the brewing unit, but the cost of cleaning products can add up over time. Some models of each brand use slicker displays and more or less drink options. I tend to prefer the milk systems more on Gaggia machines, unless you're upgrading to something like the Jura Cool Control, which comes with its own price tag.

    Hi, AJ. I hope you don't mind me asking another question. Complete newbie here. What grinder setting on the ENA 8 would you recommend for an 8 oz. coffee using medium roast beans? Is the finest setting best for an espresso and espresso-based drinks? What if I regularly make both long coffees (8 oz. coffee in the morning) and espresso-based drinks (like a latte or cappuccino in the afternoon)? Is there a happy medium setting so I don't have to adjust the grinder setting back and forth every day? Maybe leave the grinder on the middle setting? I'd really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 года назад +2

      Hi Edith, I don't mind at all. On super-autos we tend to use the finest setting for espresso drinks as long as it doesn't choke the machine (no liquid comes out), and something closer to the middle for coffees. Just note that your milage may vary based on your specific machine, beans, water quality, etc. Your suggestion of finding an in-between is pretty common for people who regularly switch between espresso and long coffees and don't want to be constantly changing grind size. If you're doing this, I'd start by leaving it 2-3 clicks away from the finest, and see how things taste.
      AJ

    • @edithabynum
      @edithabynum 3 года назад +2

      @@Wholelattelovepage Hi, AJ! Oh, thank you so much for your helpful advice! Right now, I have my ENA 8 grinder set 3 clicks away from the finest (i.e. if you number the markings from 1-7, where 1 is the coarsest, and 7 is the finest, my grinder is set at a 5). I haven't tried any espresso drinks yet, as I'm still trying to get my morning long coffee the way I like it. Yesterday, I tried it with a strength of 4 full beans. It wasn't quite as strong as I like it, so today I bumped it up to 4.5 beans. Better, but will try it at full strength (5 beans) tomorrow. It could also be the blend I'm trying out at the moment. It's pretty mellow. I assume if the taste still isn't bold enough at full strength that the next step would be to try to set the grinder one click finer. Correct? Then I can scale back the strength again and work my way up if needed. Once I get the coffee sorted out, I'll try making some espresso milk drinks to see how they taste. At least that's my plan. I'll figure it out eventually. So different from my no-brainer Keurig, so I have lots to learn. LOL! Thanks again!

    Do you get hot milk from the Frother? I get lukewarm. I’ve returned the machine to Jura twice as I was told my milk should be 140-180F. Mine comes out at 74-80. If this is the way it is, so be it, but if it’s supposed to be hotter, I’m going to return it again. Can you help?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  2 года назад +1

      Hi Ann, I do get milk at a proper temp of ~140F. 74-80F is very low. One thing you might check is that the frothing components are clean. With some use and not cleaning properly milk residues can accumulate in components and reduce heating. Do you see any steam when milk is frothing? if so that's an indication the machine is working properly. You could check that by removing the pickup tube from milk source and see if you get steam out of the froth dispensing nozzle. If you see steam with that check then I would make sure components are clean and properly installed. Hope that helps.

      Hi Ynvonne, I've never actually been inside one of these machines after longterm use, so I can only go off the manufacturer's claims and experiences. With routine cleaning based on their recommendations, you shouldn't have any issue with cleanliness inside the brew group. Hi EJ, Thanks for the question. The ENA 8 does a very finely frothed milk. I've never had London fog latte but I looked it up and it seems they commonly use finely frothed latte style milk. on standing, the froth from the machine will settle a bit so you'll get more of a steamed milk (little to no bubbles) in lower section of glass and a cap of finely frothed foam on top.

    I have a Gaggia Cadorna Prestige coming tomorrow, but now I feel like this machine might be better. The design is not a priority for me though Juras are clearly winners there. I got the Cadorna because of one-touch Americanos and true flat whites. The Ena does a one shot flat white and two-touch Americano. But that milk looks a lot better than the carafe milk and the pausing for separation is slick. Did I make a mistake?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 года назад +2

      Hey Rollingstone, I don't think you made a mistake. I've actually had both ENA 8 and Gaggia Cadorna in my kitchen at different times this year. Both have their strengths as you mentioned. If you drink a lot of Americanos like I do, the ability to press one button and walk away is great. The programmable interval is nice for making pretty latte macchiatos, but if you're mostly doing flat whites it's a nonissue. I agree that the milk looks nicer coming out of the Jura, but I think you're going to be very happy with your Gaggia!

      Hi K, thanks for the question. IMO the ENA 8 makes a stronger coffee. It has some of the highest single cycle coffee dosing of any manufacturer and it's PEP brewing used for espresso beverages produces a deeper more aromatic extraction. If you like it really strong then I would brew 2 smaller beverages or maybe one of my favorites the Red Eye which is a long coffee with a shot of espresso over the top.

      Hi SG, The power cable does come out of the back. It is flexible and does not have a bulky connector plugging into the back. You'll need about 1.5cm of clearance for the flexible cable. The feet of the machine do not extend to the front edge of the drip tray so if you're okay with a 1 cm or so of drip tray overhanging the front edge of your counter you may be in luck!

      Hi YY, Thanks for the question. Here's a link to a side by side spec comparison of the ENA 8 and Babila with current pricing and access to more video on each machine through the product listing: www.wholelattelove.com/pages/compare?products=NDQ5MDMwNjU4NDYzMCwxNTQ1OTcyODQyNTU1
      I've used both machines extensively so I'll this:
      Babila:
      Milk carafe with auto steam clean so carafe can go straight back to fridge for later use
      Manual steam wand - go to latte art quality frothing
      Flow control on spouts restrict for deeper espresso extraction - let it flow for longer coffees
      Older display style
      More precise control of grind size
      Regular descaling required - extended time span with filter use
      Can make 2 coffee drinks at same time. Does a second grind cycle automatically to maintain beverage strenght
      ENA 8
      More contemporary design - color display
      Smaller form factor
      Pick up tube for milk. A little less convenient than carafe
      More milk drink options
      No descaling required if filter used as directed
      Premium version with full aluminum case available: www.wholelattelove.com/products/jura-ena-8-espresso-machine-aluminum

      Hi Jason, They are very good. Compared to semi-automatic machines you do give up some potential quality for the convenience and consistency of these machines. Good shots start with then beans of course but in my experience these machines produce a better shot than what you'll get from mass market coffee shops but not as good as what you'd get at a specialty cafe made with care by a barista with real skills. You do have control of grind size and coffee dose but do not dial in grind size or time/weigh extractions like you would on semi-autos.

Final temps depend on starting milk temp. If you prefer extra hot milk you might consider a machine with manual frothing which gives you complete control of final milk temperature. The Gaggia Accademia has manual frothing and an auto-frothing carafe. Also has a heated cup warmer. In our tests the Accademia carafe dispensed frothed milk at 136F/58C from milk starting at 45F/7C. Can you make a comparison between ENA 8 and E8 which is better for home use

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  4 года назад +8

      Hi Mohammed, before the ENA 8 I had an E8 at home, so I can certainly compare. In my opinion, the ENA 8 wins in looks and style over the E8. I like being able to customize all parameters of drinks with a press-and-hold (vs. having to go into the menu in the E8). I also prefer the grouping of espresso/milk/hot water spouts on the ENA 8 because I never have to move my cup when preparing any drinks. The ENA 8 is also slightly smaller, which I prefer since I'm limited on counter space.
      The E8 wins in capacity - not only a larger water tank, bean hopper, and dreg drawer, but the dual spouts give you the option for two espresso drinks at once (by double-pressing espresso/ristretto/coffee). If you're making a high volume of drinks at home, the E8 may be the best choice. I also like that the E8 gives you two options for milk foam, instead of just the one on the ENA 8.
      Overall, they both have their advantages and which is "better" depends largely on your living and drinking circumstances.

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  Год назад

      @@awolejko14 I'm assuming you have strength set to highest setting on the machine. If not, set to that. Keep in mind the max coffee dose at highest strength setting is 10g which is a light dose for larger long coffees. For stronger long coffee you may want to brew 2 smaller coffees into the same cup. Also take a look at your grind setting. a finer grind setting will give deeper/stronger flavor. Another option is to make an Americano starting with an espresso doppio on the machine. The doppio automatically grinds twice so coffee dose for a doppio maxes out at 20g. From there, add hot water from the machine to taste. Americanos generally have deeper and more pure flavor than same beans made as a long coffee. "Strong" medium roast beans can mean different things to different people. Strong like more caffeine? Then an Italian blend with some Robusta beans in the mix like most Lavazza coffees. Some people associate strong flavor with the roast of the bean. Tasting the roast comes only with a darker roast profile. For others, stronger means I like the flavor of this bean but want it more intense. For that, you need less water through a given amount of ground coffee.
      Aside from the Lavazaa I mentioned this Carraro Globo Rosso is a blend I'm familiar with and one I'd call bold and strong with an extra caffeine kick. It's a bit darker than most medium roast: www.wholelattelove.com/products/carraro-globo-rosso If you go to the link there's a video in which I taste it along with 4 other Carraro coffees. Jay G. I have a S8 and the cleaning is fairly easy, as i mainly drink espresso. Around once per month it will do a full clean, requiring a cleaning tablet. You can get these cheap enough off amazon. For milk drinks, I just rinse out the hose under the tap when done, and run a hot water cycle through for say 30 secs to flush out the nozzle. No issues as yet. And I might add, a far better quality coffee is to be had when compared to pod machines, and cheaper cups of coffee as you are using your own beans. I am getting my beans at the moment from Aldi, of all places!, and these are $14 aud per kg ($4 usd per pound approx), which lasts me about a month. They are good quality beans, they roast them daily in Melbourne, which is often viewed as the coffee capital of Australia. For an equivalent bean from a fancy roaster cafe named after a bicycle part Aussies pay around $50 aud per kg ($14 usd per pound), and generally the price hike is not worth it.

I actually just run fresh water through the milk system as if I was frothing milk using the 2 compartment cup that comes with it after each use and it only requires a (special Jura milk cleaning liquid, single capful) clean around once a month. overall, a very cheap and easy machine to run and the coffee is really good. If I had to put a dollar value to the cost of cleaning, using the Jura cleaning products it might be $3-$4 per month or around $50 per year..if that. 18 months in and going strong, would be hard to live without it.

      I don't blame you, the Z10 is an incredible machine. Here's a video we filmed about it while visiting JURA earlier this year: ruclips.net/video/4jf9oeyGeoE/видео.html

    this one or jura e8 ?

    • @Wholelattelovepage
      @Wholelattelovepage  3 года назад +3

      Hi Ruben,
      In my opinion, the ENA 8 wins in looks and style over the E8.

      Hi Kishore, for a mocha I would add your powder or syrup to the cup first before brewing your drink into it.

    Just brought this machine and with all the coffee settings set on high the cappacino and hot chocolates are way too cold and undrinkable. There is no settings to increase the milk foam. I run my finger through the milk form as it comes out and still very cold. The the price of this machine to make cold milk foam and cold cappacinos is crap. Jura are saying to in increase the coffee strength for a hotter cappacino but not everyone wants a stronger capacino and what is the point of milk foam if it comes out cold. Going back to get a refund

      @Wholelattelovepage  3 года назад +1

      Hi Altina, I cannot be certain but sounds like there might be a problem with your machine or you're expecting the milk to be hotter than what these types of machines are designed to produce. A well trained barista froths milk to a finished temp of about 140F/60C as that is the temp where milk gains the most apparent sweetness due to heating. If your milk is "very cold" coming out something is not right. Dirty milk frothing components affects performance.

      I just had my new Elna 8 taken to Jura to look at. Was something definately wrong with the machine which has been fixed now. I have the coffee on the high setting and the cappacinos are now nice and hot.
