HOW I BOUGHT A TOTALED VEHICLE WITHOUT KNOWING! **AVOID CAR LOTS AT ALL COST!** $15,000 IN DAMAGE!

- In this video you'll learn why you should never purchase a vehicle from a car lot without some type of warranty or extensive inspection of the vehicle before hand. I was sold a car that had $15,000 worth of water damage by a car lot who purchased a vehicle at auction for cheap, cleaned it up and then turned around and sold it to me for retail price. This car came from an Auction in Texas and there are MANY vehicles being circulated that have clean titles which shouldn't! Learn from my mistakes so that you do not have to go through them yourself. AVOID CAR LOTS AT ALL COSTS! Go to a Dealership for a certified preowned vehicle or buy from Carmax, Carvana, CarGurus or any of the online markets which will supply a warranty and back their vehicles up! Car lots could care less about you and more about their pockets being lined! I now owe $5,000 to the bank for a situation I have zero control over. Do not be like me!

Somewhere in a dark corner is motor tube bustin out the lotion before clicking on this video 😂
😂😂😂 My guy. Fucking hilarious.
Lmao
Damn dude. I am so sorry. thanks for putting this video together - I'm sure you'll come out on top and you'll find another great daily.
Thanks for the heads up! I bought a used 14 2SS/RS Camaro, it was beautiful black and low miles. I accidentally scratched the trunk, brought t a very good body shop in town and he points out several indicators that the cars been repainted on one side. So much for a clean car fax, even though the average person wouldn’t notice the issues, they drove me crazy so I’ve sold it. :(
Sorry to hear the bad news with your A5. It’s unfortunate that some people would fix up the car and resell it as a clean title instead of rebuilt or salvaged. I was looking forward to see your modded A5. Are you planning to buy another A5? This time from the dealership as a certified pre-owned?
I too have an A5 and was looking forward to see how you mod yours and take ideas from you 🙂
I bought a Hyundai Equus to daily to keep miles off my Camaro and within a week both of the rear air shocks blew out and I had to fight the insurance over that because the tech at Beaverton Hyundai couldn't replicate the problem. Eventually it got covered and then about two months later I felt the transmission acting up and one day it was to the point where if would fall out of gear and just hang rpms. Luckily I had a warranty on the car and I've gotten everything fixed for almost nothing. You also have to watch out with dealerships.
I definitely went through that experience before bro the same exact scenario tbh
I worked on a dealership for a long time and ever German had issues ,

Thanks for the info I was going to go to Autosource and see if I can buy a 2019 Subaru Impreza Base model to replace my 2007 Pontiac G6 which has 211,000 miles on it but after hearing what happens to you no thanks I rather go to a dealership and buy a new car or a certified preowned and go that way.
Damn - very sorry to hear. You can buy gap insurance from your insurance company (typically affordable). Good luck w/ the next purchase.
auto auction 125k miles 2012 Audi a4 Quattro. Gorgeous. Love it. $13k in on it
Pulled a CarFax, and found minor damage but total loss. Dealer upfront about damage repair, but not the total loss part! CARFAX, and PPI always! Chump change!
Ya I always take a car to get a inspection elsewhere. The only way I don't is if its CPO and covered cause those cars are under a huge inspection to get that cert. If they will not let me then I say bye and move on.
bought a 2k18 jeep grand Cherokee with No title and is totaled (what do i do)
Can you sue the car dealership in small claims court? They are licensed and bonded just for these issues.
Damn bro, that sucks. Sorry things turned out the way they did. Hope you can find something soon to fill that gap
Damn wish I had watched this a week ago just got an A5 from Carvana. Im hopping I have no issues
Hope this serves as a lesson people. Always always research a used car and if your are not good at car stuff pay to get a pre-purchased inspection. They are normally only $75-150 and well worth getting.
That's some great info. I was unaware of this.
Sucks you went through that. Buying used car is always a gamble. Take your time and do not go for the first one you find! I would suggest get a mechanic you trust to inspect it, but it sounds like that would not have caught this issue. My brother in law went through an issue with a used from, what I call a legit chop shop, only they gave him a warranty for 30 days that did not cover a motor that blew after driving it for a week because the wheels were not stock. I would like to add that when you get a warranty or Gap insurance from a dealer take your time and read the fine print, as you pointed out some things might not be covered.
Hey bud check out the Genesis G70 3.3 twin turbo AWD I can get you a discount on those
the first problem is you didnt talk to me about this, I told you I have been in the business for 25 years and know every in and out ...Im sorry that happened to you bro
dam dude i just bought a used 2012 audi a5 and im having starting issues now that i brought it home, and the mechanic that checked it today just asked me if i knew if the car was in a flood. the odds of running into this video im scared
Wow. You’re spot on. I moved from NC, back to Houston, and I’ve personally worked on cars here with that exact same issue.
BIG YIKES. 😔
Yeah, I know...the lack of integrity here sucks when it comes to the car market.
What's up everyone. Wish I had better news.. but unfortunately Luna is totaled due to extensive water damage. Let me know what you guys think down below. Don't forget to hit that LIKE button and Subscribe/Bell as we are ALMOST to 40,000 SUBS!! Thanks everyone.
Something similar happened to me about 5 years ago. I bought a 2008 Jeep GC limited with only 44k miles on it from a used car lot. Ran great when I tested it, it was clean inside and out, had 1 owner and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The day comes where I go to pick it up and I notice a check engine light is on and I ask him about it and he says something along the lines of “it should turn off once you drive it for a bit, it’s because we had very little gas in it for a while”. Some bull crap. When I test drove it it was on fumes and when I picked it up to take home it was on fumes as well. So, 10/10 on customer satisfaction there. I didn’t even make it 2 blocks away before I could feel the considerable shaking and chugging when the car would come to a complete stop and go. I turned around and took it right back and told him “what the fuck is this?” Respectably of course. They took the Jeep back for another two weeks and completely fixed whatever was wrong with the engine. They never told us what the problem was but I know it wasn’t cheap, I could tell by his facial expression when I came for the keys. It also had a busted sunroof that I didn’t know about that would act as an emergency sprinkler system every time it rained or I washed my car and water would start coming from rear view mirror and the two grab handles you use to pull yourself in. It also destroyed my head unit with water damage. That 2 grand sadly came out of my pocket though.
Damn man.. these car lots really do try and take people's hard earned money. Idk how people can sleep at night running a business that operates in such a way.
Destroyer Grey Productions I completely agree. Your story hits me where it hurts too, I’ve been wanting an older A5 or RS5 for some time now, they’re amazing.
Wow! Did you take off the downpipe-awe touring exhaust and rear diffuser?
Yeah, I have it all.
@@InnoV8Official Well if you ever feel like donating all that I'll give it a good home! I've got a 2k14 A5 begging for all that after stage 1 apr tune.
It sucks the there are people out there who take jacked up cars and trying to make money off of them and I’ll be hoping things go better next time you buy a car and I’ll be praying for Luna
I’m willing to bet that car probably came out of hurricane Harvey 2017, there were thousands of cars that were flooded
Hope this isn’t my case. I’m looking into buying an explorer police interceptor. It’s 10k from a very low key used car dealership. Test drove it and it drives strong for a V6, owner of the place was super nice and helpful and addressed the only mechanical issue with the car saying he would have it resolved before I bought it but this video coming out the day I go to check this car out made me paranoid😂
I'd absolutely be paranoid of any car lot that is "AS-IS" without warranty options.
Destroyer Grey Productions that’s my thought too but he said any issues with the car will be addressed and repaired before he sells it to me. Have yet to ask him if any kind of warranties and I’m thinking that will be my deal breaker. I have to finance it as I don’t have 10k up front but if there’s no warranty of any kind, then I’m definitely gonna have to skip out on that one
Id be very wary there jason, being an interceptor, it came from a police or sheriff’s dept and those cars are in circulation there at minimum 70-100k miles before they are sold at auction. Possibly salvaged title if it was in an accident which would explain the low miles
Sean Burnham this interceptor is a 2015 explorer with 100k miles. The dealership is selling it for 10k. I drove it around town and on the freeway and all seems to be well with the car. I ran a vin check and got a car fax report on it and everything came back clean with a healthy service record. After watching this video I am absolutely more wary. I’m going to continue to do research on this car and make sure it really is legit before buying it
Jason French, might be a good deal my friend
Damn brotha! Sorry to hear this.
All good man. Money comes and goes.. I'll recover and move forward!
Car Max is actually really really good.
All foreigns come with issues man never had kink free one, except a VW but that was Brand new and is only at 50k miles so fingers crossed it stays all good
Strange, here in Germany they say the same over US cars, that they are non reliable plastic dinosaurs.
Ughhh that blows!! 😭😭
NEVER trust a used car dealer!
Always perform a complete "health check" on your car at a reliable repair shop.
Hate that brother, shitty situation all the way around. Keep your head up tho, your find something
I'm confused. Why can't you just get your money back from the dealer? They scammed you?
It's not a scam. It's a car with a clean title that fell through the cracks. I bought the car AS-IS so there's nothing I can do. It's like the transmission or engine failing 2 weeks after purchase. Ain't shit you can do about it besides make videos on my platform to warn people and potentially make a little money back this way.
Washington State has a lemon law you really need to get with a lawyer brother if you haven't already. This def falls under the lemon law. Regardless of what you've been told you def need to seek legal brother. Hope all turns out. If you need any help in the matter you can def hit me up!!
I bought the car from Oregon and it unfortunately passed inspections with a clean title in tact.
That is why you buy used cars from a dealerships not a used car lot.
Didn’t get gap insurance 😂. Man with all the advice you would give here and all the feather you've ruffled ONE would think you maybe would know how to not get screwed by dealers. Go check out tall guys new challenger it's fire!
Are these tips for used cars?
Also, you said something along the lines of fixing up a used car to be labeled as new?? Correct me if im wrong but are dealerships allowed to do that?
Sorry bro, what goes around comes around those scumbags will theirs. Bet your bottom dollar. Keep your head up and I’m looking forward to what’s next.
To be honest your better off with a Subaru it has the same setup as the Audi only a much more reliable and much cheaper.
You need to sue the dealer that sold you the car, not your fault and you need a lawyer to get the seller to settle up with you.
Audi with a issue? Nevah!! You should know bettah!
You should definitely tell which car brand has no problems if it has been standing in a flood?
I have some news for you. Check your Instagram
The fact that the words “Audi” and “Reliable” were in the same sentence was all you need to know that someone is trolling you. Far from reliability
Instead of shiting on small dealers, maybe you should had been more informed and not buy a car that was titled on a known flooded state. Also always buy extra insurance on a used car specially and audi.
🤷♂️ Oops. Maybe cars shouldn't be sold as Clean when they really aren't? Maybe inspections should be done properly? But, yeah.. it's my fault for not being better informed. 😂
Audi reliable? Lol
Dang bro, your channel is going extinct. Get moving !
Working 80+ hours a week. Definitely not focused on RUclips right now. Real life is way more important right now. 😎🤙
His channel was never good he ate by trashing other men and eventually the cream rises to the top and shit tends to roll down hill lol. Even if he focuses on RUclips he won’t gain the massive following without doing something drastic or being the car RUclips drama reporter! I think everything happening to him is karma and maybe he will humble himself and grow a bit from the situation. I doubt it though, this guy seems hard headed.
