My 2016 Audi A5 ALREADY has some MASSIVE issues. Here is whats wrong.

- So after ownership of my 2016 Audi A5 for a short time there was an issue with the car starting. The dash would say "Parking Brake Malfunction" and the car would refuse to start at times. Other times it would start up instantly and others it seemed like it wasn't going to start at all! I finally got tired of it when my girlfriend took it to the beach leaving her stranded for 30 minutes trying to get it to start. I took to Beaverton in Oregon to Audi where they had diagnosed WATER DAMAGE to the ECM and fuses under the dash from a leak under the hood through the dash. I have been in contact with USAA my insurance company to see if they can cover the damages. I will keep you all updated on the outcome.

Good luck with staying ahead of the repairs on the Audi. As much as I love the look and aftermarket support of Audis BMW's and Mercedes, I can't bring myself to buying one. I don't need to own one to be convinced that they are Money Pits once they are out of warranty. I have seen more than enough evidence on the internet. I mean, If you are completely in love with your A5 then you will be able to justify spending the money. Just don't expect ownership to be an affordable hassle free experience.
Have an a3 e-tron since last August. Only issue I had was the satellite radio antenna kept going out. Was covered under warranty. Then the hybrid battery had a recall on a seal. Other than that it's been good. Also bought a 3 year warranty with it.

I own a first-gen 2008 A5 Quattro with 3.2 manual. No big issues to report, just make sure you give them the regular maintenance intervals and keep in mind wheel bearings and a rubber bushing hardening and cracking here and there with age.

They are great cars but when u see/ hear things that need to be replace replace in pairs don't be cheap alot of the basic work u can do yourself wheel bearing brakes cv axle both side wheel bearing are super easy the car is made like a race car quick part exchange except for the front end engine work that can be a little much but with the rt tools and time u still can do most of it's Maintenance and also when u wash it use your blower to blow off all water in the door jams under the hood and sunroof and window seals just a tip i use with minds

I have a 2014 Audi A5 with 48k miles and never had a problem. Sorry to here that your Audi had a ecu problem. Hope you get your baby back on the road again soon.

Love Audi/Vw picked up my vw cc, 101km mint. Love it 2 months in rear main seal 1300$, then misfiring started, replaced all new coils and ngk plugs still misfire, Intake valves walnut blasted another 1300$, Still running terrible, take it in to vw tell me it’s the fuel pump relay get that done and still running terrible. Cars look great but are nothing but an issue, never will I touch another German car lol good luck with ur insurance bro!!!!!!

Did you not buy a warranty with it? if so, you wouldn't have any worries. I purchased a warranty on mine for $129 a month, and its a 5 year bumper to bumper........that is all it takes to alleviate any worries about problems that may arrise
what emblem is on the side of the challenger? It looks like a hellcat emblem but I can’t tell?

That is why Nice looking cars are turned in for a reason. Buying used is always dangerous. Yes it is better price but can always end up biting you in the ass.

I have had my A5 since 2013 with no issues. Tires, brakes, oil changes, scheduled services, headlight bulb replacement, typical stuff. Surprised to hear about these issues.
All faults was because of flood.
Yeah, that wood grain on the loaner is ugly AF. A lot of manufactures use a similar product/finish. it's like a matte finish wood. Seen it on a Chrysler 300. I'm not a fan of wood trim but at least the Glossy wood is tolerable. Looks like it could be real wood with a lacquer finish. Matte finish just looks like plastic with a wood grain pattern.
Didn't know there were other young car and mopar folk (outside of my group I shall not mention lol) Not that the old folk ar bad or anything.

Yeah, absolutely love my challenger. But I also love all cars. The audi have a totally different feel in driving than the challenger. They both are amazing cars.

They build a plastic cars to make you pay them a lot to fix the problem. Once you pay them,they became rich. I know Audi/BMW and Merc are beautiful and power but stressful.

Why should USAA cover a mechanical/electrical problem on a used car you just purchased? I rather doubt that’s gonna happen. Your recourse, if any, is against the seller of the car.
Interesting.. USAA paid off the entire car to the dollar amount and then sold it at auction.
I would fix it and unload that car as fast as I can sorry but if you keep it eat and eat your $$$ into you cry uncle maybe you will get lucky and sets it safe on fire
