  • A day that will live long in my memory. 13th April 2017 and we ascend Middle Fell, Seatallan and Buck Barrow in the Western Fells of the Lake District. As we make our way up the first Fell we meet a true legend of the Lake District - Joss Naylor MBE who at age 81 is still regularly running up and down his local fells. Having wanted to meet him for 14 years since reading about him and watching documentaries on his life, this chance meeting was unforgettable frankly magical. This was his first run out since returning from holidaying in Spain, what luck. This was the final day of our April 2017 trip and what a way to end it.

He sure is Henry. It made an ordinary walk very special. At 81 what we witnessed took our breath away, just wish I had been quicker with the camera to capture it all. A great and lovely champion of the Fells.

Another magical lakeland moment Graham meeting Joss Naylor :) I remember in Julia Bradbury's first series when she climbed Scafell Pike, she interviewed Joss, and he mentioned that helicopter descent. Shame Dave wasn't there to share with you. atb
